Summary: Second in the series, third best
Review: Although Ryder Sherbrooke was by far the sexiest of the heros in the Bride trilogy, the story was not as good as Sherbrooke Bride and Heiress Bride. His arrogance with women is overshadowed by his love for children, so that was a nice mixture in a personality.

Summary: ONE OF COULTER'S BEST!!!!!
Review: CATHERINE COULTER HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!! The hellion bride was one of the best we've read. The book is full of everything we've came to love and expect from Coulters work, mystery , humor, and downright sexual passion. This book should have been the conclusion to the brides trilogy, it surpassed the other two books by leaps and bounds.

Summary: Author can write, but tells highly questionable story
Review: First things first: Catherine Coulter can write well. Her style, while not innovative, is solid and works, which was the main reason I kept reading "Hellion." But her characters and plotlines are all monotonous and boring. The hero, Ryder, is a holier-than-thou loverboy whom the author keeps congratulating for his charitable deeds and irresistable manliness. The heroine, Sophie, is equally annoying. Despite her bravery in the hands of the Two-Dimensional and Uninteresting Bad Guy, her manhating fury and other idiosyncracies get tedious fast. The bedroom scenes are hot, sexy and kinky enough to catch the attention of the modern reader, but they're hard to enjoy because of the marital rape in them, conveniently disguised as Ryder showing Sophie just how good sex can be--because of course he's right about everything. These people just aren't appealing or intelligent in any way, despite Coulter's attempts to paint them as such by oh-so-subtly throwing in an allusion to Rosseau. Their personalities don't make sense, the plot is thin and contrived, and just WHY the hero and heroine come to love each other is beyond me. Let's hope Ms. Coulter does better next time, because I get the feeling that she can.

Summary: Marital Rape?
Review: Having read this book, I do not know what everyone is talking about with the marital rape. Do not get me wrong, I thought some of the sex scenes were conducted with force. However, it seemed that the scenes were put in context with the wrongness of the act. He wanted his wife to learn how to feel pleasure with him, but he actually did feel remorse for any force he used. You want to read a Coulter book with real marital rape? Read Midsummer Magic, Rosehaven and Calypso Magic. And the "heros in this book did not feel an ounce of remorce for what they did because, in their opinion, they were trying to teach their wives that is was their place to submit. Now those books have the real thing. This was a cute book, but I have come to the opinion that Coulter is not a talented writer. If you want to read a really good historical romance, read Christina Dodd's Treasure Of The Sun. I guarantee you will be converted.

Summary: Is Rape necessary?
Review: I enjoyed the basic plot of this book and the others in this series, but I have to wonder why almost all of Ms. Coulter's Heroines have to be afraid of sex and why most of the Hero's feel it necessary to force themselves on the women they supposedly love. Of the 3 original books, the sex scenes in this one are the most disturbing. I hate that Sophie ends up thanking him later for what was essentially rape. While the Bride series and the Song series are both very entertaining, I find I have to be very careful about which of Ms. Coulter's books I buy.

Summary: WOW!
Review: I fell in love with Ryder Sherbrooke in this book. I couldn't put this novel down. Once I completed the first novel in the trilogy I couldn't wait for the second, and Ryder is every girls dream come true. I have read many Catherine Coulter books and this is one of my favourites.

Summary: What to say?
Review: I have mixed feelings about this book. I found it disturbing, not that I believed that the heroine was by any means 'raped', that is verging on the ridiculous, it was merely a painful first experience for her, no force whatsoever. What disturbs me is the fact that Sophie had an insane fear of men and the marital act.

In the beginning, Sophie played her seductress role quite convincingly, she was vibrant, retortful, but suddenly after her 'rescue' she becamesa meek mouse type person, with absolutely no personality or 'fire' to speak of.

While the story flowed smoothly, and the hero Ryder is quite captivating as the 'knight in shining armor', there wasn't any chemistry between the two characters. Their moods switched off and on like lamp switches. I also would really like to understand why Ms. Coulter finds it always necessary to have her heroines abused and always fearing the opposite sex.

The story is good and it is interesting if you like Coulter's work. This is basically classic Coulter.

Summary: Well written...
Review: I liked all of the Bride Trilogy. C.C. let your imagination follow the storyline well. You could picture the sun filled days easily! This is a must have for your personal library! I also recommend "Eternal Undying Love" by Brett Keane

Summary: I love this series so far!! I liked this even more!!
Review: I liked this even more then The Sherbrooke Bride. Both characters - ryder and Sophia are fun to read about. It was great to readd more about Douglas and Alex too. I can't wait to read the Heiress Bride and the Scottish Bride.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good
Review: I read this book first, before the Sherbrook Bride. I really liked it. This was the first book I had ever read by Catherine Coulter and it got me hooked for many more to come. Needless to say, not all her books I truly enjoy, but this one was great!
