Summary: The Call Of The Wild
Review: I really enjoyed this book. It is a great adventure story! You really feel like you are in Buck's shoes. You feel his pain, happiness, and you feel the challenges he faces in the story. I felt like I was there, in the Artic with him. If you have a selection of books to choose from, I suggest this one.

Summary: Call of the Wild - an Exciting Book
Review: The exciting book, "Call of the Wild" by Jack London, is a call worth answering. This book is about a loveable dog named Buck who has to learn suddenly to defend himself in the wild. The different characters will undeniably delight you for hours. Buck has an interesting life and you will surely want to find out about it.

From the beginning, the narrator starts the story with Buck's happy life in California. Unfortunately, Buck the Husky is stolen and taken to Alaska, where he is sold! As a result of his change, he has to gain the respect from other dogs and becomes happy again. Buck is sold to many masters and has as unusual a life as a dog has ever had. Lives that you will have to read about in this fascinating book.

Truly, Mr. London has captured the essence of the hard and unusual life of the wild. The characters are all different; therefore; this book is for everyone. For instance, Buck the dog is loyal and tough, but one of his masters is ignorant and weak. There are many places in this book, so everyone will learn something. The main places are California and Alaska, which are as different as night and day. All in all, this book will take you on a wonderful adventure.

To sum it all up, "The Call of the Wild" is one of the best known and loved books. In this book, we see the incredible challenges that Buck faces. This book tops some of Mr. London's other great books such as: "White Fang" and "The Star Rover". More importantly, this book will teach everyone that with perseverance and a little courage, you can do anything.

Summary: Call of the Wild
Review: Call of the Wild, is one of Jack London's best works, that is, next to White Fang. He displays the hard ways of life of an Alaskan Husky in time of the gold rush in a most unique and beautifull way. The story is about Buck, A tamed outside husky, that is taken away to learn about the gold rush.

Summary: This is not a very interesting book
Review: The problem with this book is that it seemed like nothing really happened until the end ... and I don't want to spoil that for you by telling you about it. There were some characters that could have been interesting, but they were under-developed - tough to figure out where they fit in. I would not recommend this book.

Summary: Read it aloud to children
Review: My friend was making a mock lesson plan for her education class and we took turns reading the chapters to each other one afternoon. Intermediate readers would enjoy doing this with an adult-- most of the language isn't difficult, and the story moves at a good clip. I'm not a big fan of adventure or animal stories, but this one had me all choked up. Great fun.

Review: Call of the Wild is a good book if your a dog sleding in Alaska. It's about a dog (Buck) that got stolen from hes master and sold to a dog sled team. The book seems to give you a picture of what dog sleding is like in Alaska. The book is seen threw Bucks eyes almost the whole story. You will met alot of characters threwout the book.

Summary: Emotional and binding
Review: I have read this book over and over. You can never get enough of nature. The stunning descriptions and situations in the deep woods and well as the everlasting instincts of the wolf is written to where you will never forget. I wanted to be transported and was.

Summary: If you like boring books, this one's for you
Review: I am reading Call of the Wild for an Accelerated English class and I can not stand it. I don't see why so many people find it exciting and a "classic", and I know even if I was not reading it for an assignment I would still find it dull. I mean, the main characters are dogs, the plot is very slow and boring, and it is extremely predictable. It is one of those books that I would try to read, but never finish. I have to do an essay, plot chronology, ect. on a group of prissy dogs stuck in the Yukon suffering from a reality check. This is not anywhere near my definition of a classic novel,it is more like a waste of time.

Summary: Called BACK to the Wild yet again...
Review: ... and this time I've brought my son with me! This is a classic on so many levels -- as a quick ride through the turn-of-the-century (the LAST century, that is!) Klondike; as yet another of London's lessons in "man vs. nature"; etc. -- but the reader who sees it as "just some story about a dog" is truly missing its greatness! For instnace, be sure to keep an eye open for Mr. London's socialistic views (e.g., ideals of becoming leaner and meaner as individuals and, subsequently, as a society) as well!
