Rating: Summary: Ultimate Comfort Review: Having recently lost a beloved sister I was in need of solace. This book certainly provided that. Others have called it juvenile. I call it lovely, simply lovely. When I finished I was more convinced than ever that there is a force greater than ourselves and although we may be afraid to leave this life, there is something far grander waiting for us. My thanks to the author. He brought peace to my soul.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Gift Review: Heartwarming and heartwrenching, made me cry, made me smile, brought back memories, & touched my soul. Beautifully written, this book is a wonderful gift from the author and a wonderful gift for anyone to give to any member of their family. Thank you John.

Rating: Summary: A Sad Disappointment Review: I am an unabashed John Edward fan, both of his television series and his other books. While his other books are decently written, flow well, and are informative and interesting, "What if God Were the Sun" was a terrible disappointment. This novel is written in a decidedly juvenile style with one-dimensional, uninteresting characters, a distinct impression the reader is being spoken down to (or perhaps has recently been kicked in the head by a mule), and a thin and predictable plot which makes slogging to the book's end a bit of a groan and a chore. Had there been a remarkable message, keen insight, or a riviting inspirational relevation, the shoddy writing might be excused. Sadly, that is not the case here. Do buy John's other books, but skip this one. John, bless him, should stick to non-fiction.
Rating: Summary: Good Intentions, Boring Execution Review: I barely made it through this book. This bereaves me to say because I like John Edward on TV. At the same time, I must admit that I'm not currently grieving the loss of a loved one. In fact, I've been very blessed to lose very few people in my life. However, I was bored by John Edward's use of the first person present throughout the book and found it dreadfully difficult not to just "hang it up". I had to force my way to the finish.
Rating: Summary: Positive book Review: I bought this book for my wife and ended up reading it myself. I did not know much about this author, but the name of the book caught my attention and I am glad I read it. Its a very simple book on very tough questions you might ask yourself everyday. Its a book that everyone should read since it leaves you feeling positive not only about life, but death as well.
Rating: Summary: Not so good Review: I do not like to cut down anything this person does. He has changed my life. But if your looking for real answers, this book does not give it. There are a lot better stories to read. I am not so interested in his stories. I want to know about his REAL life and what he does NOW. The book came off as boring, it spoke "down" to the readers, and it did not offer much insight into the other side. Please don't read it thinking it will. It is just a little "cute" story. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't the best thing I've ever read, either.
Rating: Summary: Healing for loss of human and pet loved ones Review: I echo the sentiments of the "vickivail" review; coudn't have expressed it better. What has been extremely helpful to me and I would think others is that John Edwards and other top psychics frequently mention the presence of pets on the "other side". As Mr. Edwards so clearly shows, healing does not happen in a brief moment; it takes time. We have his book and others so well-written that help us to understand and deal with this. Up til very recently, however, there was really nothing written specifically about the fate of our pets after they pass on. Books on grief counseling for this were few to say in the least, and reading material on information or evidence for their continuing on did not seem to exist. This changed however- and how! with the book 'The Soul of Your Pet' by Scott Smith. He has stories of sightings in the here-and-now of ghost pets. What makes the premise so believable, however, are those that show a number of people at the same time seeing or hearing them. Sometimes living animals see them at the same time the owners do. These spontaneous appearances can happen at any time and any place. Reviewers have pointed out that that group hypnosis or illusion coming from grief can't be logical explanations in any relevant story, because the spottings just happen unexpectedly. These have nothing to do with readings, where people come expecting to learn about someone who has passed on. And since sometimes some ghost pets are seen by other than the owner, and even other living pets this rules out other attempts at explaining these phenomena asimaginings stemming from heartbreak or otherwise. There is a section devoted to Bible evidence (convincing) also of animals going to heaven, and what other religions have to say on the subject. Liked the chapter on animal intelligence as well. Kind of brings together the idea that animals are a significant part of God's plan and creation. I am happy to say that the book a friend ordered arrived a lot faster than the time AMZN says it might take. It was needed in a hurry.
Rating: Summary: Death is NOT the end! Review: I have had several family members (this also meaning pets) pass on recently, and found it very difficult to move on without them. This book helped me realize that death is not the end. It is the beginning! When friends of mine have loved ones pass on, I purchase this book to give to them, so that they too may realize how much our loved ones spirits are with us. I thank John Edwards for sharing his gift with all of us!
