Rating: Summary: Bries Book Review Review: Sideways Stories From Wayside School By: Louis Sachar It's about a school that was supposed to be 1 story high, and 30 classes. Instead it's 30 story's high, and 1 class room on each story. Each chapter is about a different person. It all takes place in a school. This is a hilarious book!!! I enjoyed it a lot. Some of my favorite charters are Bebe, Maurecia,& Louis.
Rating: Summary: Hank gets 5 Stars From Me Review: The Adventures of Hank the Cowdog is a great book by John R. Ericson. The story takes place on an old ranch. It is about a dog named Hank, who is head of ranch security. Loper is his master. Loper also has another dog named Pete, who is Hank's best friend. It is funny how the author makes Hank have no idea what's going on a lot of the time, he is clueless and that's only one of the funny parts of the book. Hank gets into lots of trouble and has exciting adventures. Hank runs away and joins a wolf pack, but he comes back at the end. This is a great book. It made me laugh out loud. It's the greatest book on earth. I want to buy more Hank the Cowdog books.
Rating: Summary: Audio Rules Review: The audio version of the Original should be required listening before moving to any other Hank book
Rating: Summary: Hank The Cowdog Review: The book I read is called "Hank The Cowdog." The main character is Hank, he protect the chickens in the farm. One day a killer kills a chicken. The farmer thought it was Hank. Hank ran away from home and wanted to be an outlaw. Later Hank found a coyote with a can on its head. Hank and the coyote became friends and the coyote wanted Hank to meet his friends. The book is REALLY exciting it got a lot of adventure. The book is kind of easy to read. I rate this book a 5.
Rating: Summary: The Original Adventures of Hank the Cowdog Review: This book is so sweet it should of won the Newberry award for best book. Even though a third grader could read it I at age almost 18 still enjoyed the doggy dog days of Hank. The little words in the big print makes it easy and enjoyable to read. I think Hank speaks the truth about life and the bad things that are out there. Hank teaches kids not to do drugs and kill chickens. I believe that Hank the Cowdog is a great inspiration to us all. Also allowing younger readers to believe in themselves.
Rating: Summary: A confusing, absurd, and hilarious series. Review: This book is the first in the Hank the Cowdog Series. It introduces the characters well. Hank is very conceited and never admits to being wrong. It is always someone else's fault. But his conversations with Drover (his sidekick) are hilarious because of this. This book doesn't have quite the absurdity which makes the later volumes so funny, but it has a better plot than some. Of course, Hank leaves the ranch, like in most of the books. And of course, he comes back.
Rating: Summary: Hilarious adventures told through the perspective of a dog. Review: This entire series is so entertaining. Not only does my 9 year old enjoy reading about the adventures of a dog, but so do I. Hank is truly lovable and makes us laugh. While he overestimates his job responsibilities as well as his importance on the ranch, it just wouldn't be the same without him! This is a book that is just as enjoyable for parents as it is for young readers. Hank is inspiration to continuing reading and find out what happens next.
Rating: Summary: Family entertainment for the road! Review: This first Hank book is great, but so are all of the Hank the Cow dog audio books. John Erickson is a genius to be able to record his fantastic books using his own voice to portray all the characters. I own 33 Hank the Cow Dog audio books and love everyone of them. I may be 57 years old, but Hank is ageless!!!
Rating: Summary: Really fun book for kids Review: This is a nice and entertaining book for kids. I read it aloud to my 3rd grade daughter and together we laughed and had a great time. It is written from the first person (dog)adds much to the story. Hank (the cowdog) has attitude, faces evils, and learns much about himself and his role as "head of ranch security." Only one caution is needed, Hank the Cowdog does not use proper English (often using "them" in place of "those" which is a personal irritation of mine) and his spelling is sometimes poor, but these are done in a humorous way and add flavor to the story.
