Summary: A definite must read
Review: This book was excellent. It usually will take me a couple weeks to finish a book but when I started reading Message in a Bottle, I could not put it down! It kept me reading for 2 days until I was finished. I absolutely loved it. Message in a Bottle was the first book I ever really cried about. And like so many other book to movie creations, the book is 10 times better!!

Summary: Must read!
Review: The book, like many, is so much better than the movie. If you are a Nicholas Sparks fan as i am (I have all of his books) then you can't let the movie deter you from reading this book. There were so many details that were left out on screen. To do the sotry justice you really need to know all of it. I highly recomend going out and getting the book, it will be a good summer read.

Summary: Not his best.....
Review: Did not enjoy reading this book. I think it was a disappointment after reading "The Notebook". I would highly recommend reading The Notebook instead of this book. The Notebook is actually one of my all time favorite books. Maybe if I would have read the message in a bottle before the notebook, I would have enjoyed it more. After reading the first book (The Notebook) - I guess I just had higher expectations of the next book.

Summary: My review
Review: Message in a Bottle was a great book. I really enjoyed reading it. It's one of those books you can really get into and not get away from. It kept you on the edge the entire book. There were some parts that even made you cry a couple of times. I would advise anyone who likes to read romance stories to read it.

Summary: A Great Love Story
Review: Reading a book is a great past time of mine. I love to read novels based on true stories, or most of all love stories. In fact, every girl loves a great love story even if they are in love themselves, because love stories are not just for the lonely hearted. Nicholas Sparks is an amazing author that I just recently began to read. A Walk To Remember brought me to tears, (which hardly ever happens in a book to me). As shocked as I was from my reaction to the book, I never thought that it could happen again. However after reading A Walk to Remember, a friend of mine told me if I thought that book was heart wrenching and sad, then I must read Message In A Bottle. I never thought that Nicholas Sparks could write a novel that would exceed the emotions that I went through in A Walk To Remember. Message In A Bottle began to play with my emotions in the first chapter. Amazingly enough, I began to cry half way through.

Message In A Bottle takes place with the main character Theresa on a long over due vacation. Theresa finds a bottle that contains a message that is beautifully written but more shockingly from a man. Being the reporter that she is (and with the help of the editor that she is with) Theresa types up an article about this letter. Not surprising to her she receives many messages and letters from people all over the country telling her how much they loved that article. Surprisingly, she receives a call saying that another woman had found a bottle, years ago exactly like hers, but with a different letter. After receiving this incredible news she decides (with the help of her friend) to find this man and see what he's like.

To find out what happens in this great novel by Nicholas Sparks grab a copy of this book, but make sure that you also grab a box of tissue.

Summary: Review In A Bottle
Review: Again, one of Nicholas Sparks' masterpieces. If you are into Romatic novels, this is one I have no suggest. Not only a great idea for a story, but it will take you back to your age 23 days. lol. I would not recommend this book for kids(though I am one). The reason, there are many very "graphic mind" love scenes in the book. In other words, you can actually picture these people in the book "sharing experinces", and the words of it are graphic. All in all though, a very good book to read.

Summary: Lots of fluff with no depth
Review: Nicholas Sparks is a manipulative writer. He plays on your vulnerability and emotions. I thought I had read a good book. I even cried at the end and thought, "Wow, that was so good!" but I was fooled.

After I calmed down from the emotion and really thought about what I had read I was extremely bothered.

The story starts out intiguing enough and the author was really onto something in the beginning. Teresa, a divorced single mother, finds a bottle on the beach with a letter in it. The letter is written by Garrett and it is to his dead wife that he misses terribly. Teresa is naturally drawn to him, his writing is mesmerizing and you can tell he is a sensitive, deep feeling and thinking man. She feels drawn to him and makes every effort to find out who this man is so she can meet him. She does meet him and the sparks fly.

That's when the book stops being so good and the author takes what is suppose to be a lovely romantic story and messes it up, while playing with your mind the whole time.

Nicholas Sparks has developed the characters brilliantly up to this point and you honestly like them both. You feel they both could use some love--Teresa is lonely and Garrett is having trouble getting over his dead wife. There is sympathy and wanting for them both. Then, after their second date, they sleep together. Sorry, but that is not love. At this point I felt they are both trying to satify there physical needs rather then their emotional needs and it leaves the story hollow. The characters also change. Teresa seems to become material, trite, and condescending. Garrett becomes possessive and weak. Near the end, I just wanted them to break up and move on with their own lives, you can tell they just were not meant for each other. That's not what happens, you'll have to read it yourself to find that out...but I don't recommend it.

I'm disappointed. I wanted to read a really good romance. I thought I had, but it's not romance, it's statisfaction of lust covered up by a romantic and creative story involving a message in a bottle.

The other thing that bothered me is that Nicholas Sparks wrote his love scene in this book to sound almost exactly like his love scene from his first book, "The Notebook". They aren't exactly the same, but he used all the same catch phrases to describe emtions and feelings which left me knowing I had been manipulated.

If you don't mind lots of lust covered in a romantic would-be love story, then you will probably like this book. It is long but very easy to read. If you like true love and real romance, like me, then skip this book and you won't be sorry.

Summary: Very Good, but left me with questions
Review: I do believe that this is one of the best books I have read. But I may look too deeply into things, but there were parts when I had to ask myself... where was Kevin? I mean, Teresa just jumps on a plane, and heads to South Carolina, often without second mention of Kevin. There were times, however when the placement of Kevin was mentioned, and that was good. Over all, the book was great. I would recommed this book to anyone, expecially a hopless romantic, like myself! I red this book practically in one sitting!

Summary: Surprise and sad ending
Review: For those of you who have seen the movie, you already know the ending, but I was one who hadn't seen the movie prior to reading this book.
At first the book took me a while to read (whereas "The Notebook" only took me 2 days). But as soon as I got towards the end of the book ... WOW!!! Talk about romantic in such a sad way!
This is a must read!

Summary: Hang In There, The end will blow you away!!!
Review: I have read many of Sparks novels. When I started reading "Message in a Bottle", I thought I would go to sleep. I have to admit that I struggled with this story just about 3/4 of the way through. Then Bang! The last three chapters were awesome. The true feelings of Garrett and Theresa finally came out. Once this took place, this novel is a tear jerker. The last three chapters are long, but I simply could not put this book down until I finished it. I never shed a tear until the end and buddy let me tell ya, it took me by surprise. The ending liked to have killed me. I would have never thought it would have ended the way it did. Hats off to Sparks once again! He keeps you at a low level in this novel and then when your ready to almost completely guess the outcome, he takes you on a rollercoaster ride from the wild. I had many friends who said, "keep reading the story, it will pick up", I had no idea that "Message in a Bottle" would be one of my most favorites by Sparks. If it as slow for you as it was for me, hang in there. It starts out as a typical love story, you think you know the out come, keep reading, your heart will get an emotional twist that you would have never expected. Last three chapters pack a wallop, have your tissues ready! Thanks Sparks for another incredible story!!
