Rating: Summary: The laughs never stop! Review: "Message in a Bottle" might have been more aptly named "Rollercoaster of Laughs!" I loved this clever jaunt through the lives of believable yet hilariously spontaneous characters. Strap in for a wild comedic ride, because there's no getting off until Nick Sparks says so! I'm still laughing weeks after reading it, and I don't see myself stopping any time soon! If you like the Three Stooges, Monty Python, Saturday Night Live, Billy Crystal, or anything and everything funny, this is the read for you!!!!
Rating: Summary: What a sappy, poorly written waste of time Review: I was so angry with myself for spending time with this (paperback)book that I threw it away....an act akin to book burning
Rating: Summary: Mindless drivle. Review: This book was awful. The premise was bad and I grew to intensely dislike the main character. None of the emotions or reactions of the characters seemed real. I can't believe they are making a movie out of it.
Rating: Summary: Unbelievable dialogue Review: I should have guessed that Mr. Sparks' second novel would not be rich in dialogue, based on what I saw in his first novel. I'm still dumbfounded by the whole premise of the book. If you put a message in a bottle, isn't it obvious that SOMEONE will read the message, and your inner most secrets will be known by SOMEONE ELSE? I'm glad I only bought the paperback.
Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK IS BEST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: I like it a lot. I fall with the author just like I am there. It is just remarkably well written and this might happen to someone special such as myself. I love it and I've seen the movie. You readers must try it, too. Trust me!!!!!!!!!!!!!I love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: I like it 'ok' as most either loved or hated this book. Review: This book seemed to be a potential page turner in the start, but in the middle the pages turned slower. I started the book at the airport, read through on the plane and continued 'in between the flights' type of thing. Once I began to read it at leisure, I began to lose some stimulation in the read. Overall, it can be enjoyable - depending on such variables like your personality or mood. This book has a wide mix of good and bad. It was fun to read at times with a combo of old-fashioned romance, heart-warming tactics and out of the ordinary feel-good miracles. But, it was also kind of lame. Like if you don't like romantic far-fetched sap and underdog romances or unpredictable sadness in your stories. A controversial book. This book has the combination of fun, romantic, silly, disappointing all in one! I am glad that I read it, it was pretty good but I would recommend it at discretion depending on the person who is reading it. I liked it but can't say I loved it, can't say I hated it either. Definitely worth the $7 that I spent, I wonder if the movie is too?
Rating: Summary: weak story, moralistic, simplistic and dated. Review: I think it's histerical that by mistake I first wrote a similar, negative review on same title but different author - Jenny Koralek. I read reviews with similar ideas and for a while didn't even realize that there are actually two books with the same title, different authors, but similarly inane. Is this a joke ?
Rating: Summary: Highly Entertaining Review: While the reader must suspend belief, this book is highly entertaining and incredibly romantic. Let yourself go and enjoy. This is one of the two most entertaining books I've read in the past year -- the other being FRIED CALAMARI by D.M. Roman.
Rating: Summary: This book was not worth the paper it's printed on! Review: I thought that this book was poorly written, unbelievable, and that the characters were under developed. It was recommended to me by a relative so I rushed out and got it the next day. I won't even tell her I read it because I'd be embarassed to tell her what I thought of it.I am a 35 year old woman who thought that the dialogue was ridiculous, the characters childish and immature, and the plot totally unbelievable. I didn't even cry at the end; it was so predictable (and overdone)! I bought this book in hardback and now wish I'd have saved the money to go see the movie, which, for once, looks more promising than the book!
Rating: Summary: Another one! Review: Yet another novel that sat on the best seller lists forever and got a movie made with some of the best names in Hollywood. Unfortunately they had to rewrite the whole thing because the novel wasn't worth the paper it was written on. If you read The Bridges of Madison County or The Horse Whisperer, you've already read this shameless copycat. Don't bother reading it again.
