Summary: If you loved Bridges of Madison County, this book is for you
Review: otherwise, don't waste your money or precious time wading through this screenplay. Mr. Sparks is indeed fortunate that so many people fly these days and get stuck with novels such as his to while the time away. I am relieved that no one I know saw me reading it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A real tear-jerker
Review: The first Sparks' book I read was 'The Notebook.' It made me cry. Then, I read 'Message in a Bottle.' I cried more.

Summary: Enough to make anyone seasick! Not one but ZERO stars!
Review: The fact that this literary tripe has spent so many days on the bestseller lists convinces me that American taste has truly sunk to the lowest common denominator. I couldn't believe that a book so poorly written could be accepted by a publisher.

Summary: A BOOK TO SHOW NOTHING IS OUT OF REACH.
Review: I JUST WANTED TO COMMENT THAT THIS BOOK WAS ONE OF THE MOST BRILLIANT LOVE STORIES EVER WRITTEN. HOW THERESA WENT TO ALL EXTREMES TO FIND GARRETT GIVES ONE INSPIRATION TO FOLLOW THEIR WANTS AND DESIRES. I WAS DEEPLY MOVED BY THIS BOOK AND FIND IT A PLEASING FOLLOW TO "THE NOTEBOOK." I DO HOPE MR.SPARKS CONTINUES TO WRITE.

Summary: Nicholas Sparks has defined true love.
Review: I did not think another book could touch the love I felt while reading "The Notebook" until reading "Message in a Bottle". No love letters have I ever read, no poetry, no song - could even compare to the heartfelt letters in this book. I believe this is Shakespeare in modern day writing. I could see, feel, hear, touch the words. They were brought to life and will make you feel a part of the story. You will smile, you will cry. You will absolutely hang on every word and scream

for more! Fabulous!!

Summary: The book and the movie was wonderful!
Review: I have read the book and viewed the movie. It was a very good movie, but very sad. I definetly didnot like the ending. It was such a let-down after all the endless soul-searching they went through to end like that. However, I cried through both. I love movies and books such as this. The choice of actors was good.

Summary: tripe; an obvious outline for a screenplay
Review: I purchased this book on the recommendation of a saleslady in a bookstore. Bad decision! Poorly written (yesterday night?!), banal characterization and tear-jerking emotional manipulation are the features of this slight effort. No doubt Mr. Sparks had the screenrights pre-sold; no doubt he has (just) enough for a two-hour movie, but this really is a triumph of marketing over substance. Is his first one any better? If so, he should retire..the trends are not with him.

Summary: A True Love Story!!!
Review: After reading the first few chapters this book caught me. A love story this powerful was amazing to read. Nicholas Sparks captures the heart of these two people so well, that I cried and cried. I loved it!!!!

Summary: Get out the tissues
Review: This has to be one of the best books that I ever read. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

Summary: I could not stop crying!
Review: When I read the last chapter, I could not stop crying at lunchtime in my office. The letters that I read in this book were very romantic. I was really impressed by them. This book is one of the best love stories I have ever read. I want to read `The Notebook', too.
