Summary: The BFG a review by Stephanie
Review: Have you ever seen or meet a giant? Well, I hope not, but if you

have, the BFG written by Rohl Dahl is the book for you. The

BFG is a big friendly giant and does not hurt any children,

unlike the other mean, nasty, ugly, looking giants who do. One night a

little girl named Sophie sees him from her window and goes to giant land.

The protagonists, BFG and Sophie, meet in human land and then

the BFG grabs Sophie and takes her to his home, human land because she saw him.

The BFG catches dreams all sorts of dreams, good and bad, yet

sometimes weird. He collects these dreams and one night he

tells Sophie about all of them. They were funny, and sometimes scary.

Sophie and the BFG manufacture an idea to save the

children of the human land. One day the BFG and Sophie mix

together all sorts of dreams and come up with a dream that

will eventually come true. The next night Sophie and the BFG go to

human land and make the dream come true, and with that they

meet a very special person.

I encourage you to read THE BFG and find out what happens to the

BFG and Sophie when they go to human land. I loved this book and I

know you will to.

Summary: The BFG a review by Derek
Review: Have you ever wanted to read a book about a giant? If so, then this is the book for you. The BFG is a funny book written by Ronald Dahl. In this story the nasty blood bottler giants eat little kids for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sophie, the protagonist, wants to stop them, with the help of her new friend, the BFG. BFG stands for Big Friendly Giant.
First, Sophie is captured and wakes up to find herself in the BFG's house. The giant's gait was so large, he could have crossed a tennis court in one step. He was the scariest looking thing she had ever seen in her entire life. She was lucky to be alive because the BFG was friendly and not like the bone crunchers or any other nasty giants.
After Sophie got to know the BFG, she found him to be one of the nicest giants she had ever met. Sophie thinks he is nice just because of the fact that he didn't eat her. Later she finds out that it is because he doesn't eat humans.

Other human eating giants are big, fat, ugly, and mean. They eat many humans each day. Sophie tries to stop all of the giants from eating humans.
The Giants don't just eat the humans, but they also go around at the night looking for fat humans. They take them out of their homes if they have left their windows open. The BFG goes around and blows some kind of powder into the open windows so that the other, meaner giants can't take the humans out of their homes. You have to read this book because it is fascinating and enjoyable because of the way Sophie and the BFG protect the humans.

Summary: Obviously Fiction
Review: I was first exposed to the BFG when my second grade teacher read it to me. I was spellbound then and still enjoy this book nearly 20 years later. Most children will enjoy this book, however, I have seen some adults struggle with the BFG's unusual way of speaking. I recommend this book to anyone who has enough creativity to understand his speaking. I can see how the children-eating giants may frighten some very small children (i.e. 3years) however, I was not scared when I first heard this story at 7 years old. In fact even as a shielded child, I eagerly anticipated each chapter as I waited for story time.

Summary: The B FG
Review: The BFG was a very good book.It goes a little like this, Young Sophie lies awake in her orphanage at the Witching Hour! She can't sleep and strange, macabre thoughts go through her head. The real fun begins, however, when she creeps to her window and sees a giant figure poking about in the 2nd floor windows across the street! My gosh, it's a Giant!! The real fun begins when he kidnaps her her from her bed and runs off to the land of 50-foot man eating gians.Luckily the BFG is a friendly giant.

Summary: What?
Review: "This book will scare children to death. They will be afraid of being kidnapped from their bed as they sleep and be eaten by giants. Any one who likes it is not thinking about whats best for children. "

That's an open mind. Would you believe that I read this when I was a child? I did. Would you believe that I wasn't scared of being eaten by giants? I wasn't. Would you believe that I liked it? I did. Was I not thinking about what was best for myself? I was eight when I first read that. I think it is a wonderful book. Most kids aren't so stupid that they can't tell fact from fiction.

Summary: What a terrible book!!!
Review: I am nine years old and I read this book for school. This book is about giants eating people and I thought it was realy gross. It talks about the giants crunching on people's bones and stealing kids out of their beds. It is AWFUL. I would not recommend this book to ANYBODY!!!

Summary: My son really liked this book
Review: My son is 7 years old. I read to him every night. He really liked this book. I also think that it was a good book, but the one thing I would change about it would be the way the BFG talks. It's hard to read his lines at first, once you get use to it you're fine. For a kid it might be frustrating since the giant makes up words and speaks oddly. The story as a whole was great.
