Rating: Summary: Fantastic! Review: A book I treasure, and will refer to,and re-read many times. He deals with complex concepts, but makes them easy to understand. You will continually say, "WOW" while you are reading it. He puts into words our feelings, intuitions, that we've always felt to be right - but perhaps, because we felt a pull in another direction didn't listen to our inner guidance. This book is an inspiration, and offers the support you need to try to obtain more inner peace, and understanding, of our place in the world we live in. Highly recommended!
Rating: Summary: Deep thoughts, deep meaning, wonderfully written. Review: I loved this book. I am a former Mormon Bishop, who has spent 50 years enslaved to the organization of men. This past year I found freedom, and freedom brought me to Gary Zukav's writings. The Seat of the Soul came to me when I was ready to experience truth. No this book is not supported with reference upon reference as many of the critics required. Do we only believe that which other men have said or that which other men or women have written, or can a writer be so bold as to seek his inspiration from THE source of all truth and speak it with a rare gift? I believe Gary Zukav did just that in The Seat of the Soul. If you did not like the book because of reincarnation, perhaps you have not studied history at all to know what Constantine did to the Bible 500 years A.D. He got much of it, but reincarnation is still very obvious in the Bible to those who really want truth over tradition. Mr. Zukav's insights into Reverence and Authentic Power, Intuition and Karma were nothing short of awesome. Those who did not like this book are still trapped in a five-sensory world. It was a wonderful treat to read in someone else's words, thoughts I have been experiencing for such a long time. Thank you Mr. Zukav. Do it again, and tap into the same source - it obviously came from those above. Loved Dancing Wu Li Masters too!
Rating: Summary: Very Interesting and Insightful Review: Growing up as a Catholic, I was so afraid of what would become of me when I died, and throughout my life(I am 49 years young) I have always wondered why they( the church) would teach me that God was a very Loving and Just God on one hand and then on the other hand say that if we sin (even if we do repent of our sins) we would be judged by our deeds when we die, then be thrown in hell to suffer for all eternity. I was totally confused by this contradiction. Everytime I committed a sin I just knew that God was going to strike me dead and send me straight to Hell. So I was scared of death and what came after. I thought I would never see Jesus or Heaven. But these past few years I have been questioning not only my worth on this planet but what my role and everything else's role is in this life and what our purpose on this planet really is. Are we here only to be judged by an unforgiving God? I think not! I have read this book "The Seat of the Soul" and it has really helped me to come to understand our place in this universe and why we are here. I have also realized that everything on this planet is here for a reason and that only God knows why he put us here. Why people don't believe in reincarnation is their choice, but I think that if God keeps sending us back here again and again, it is because we did not do what he wanted us to do the first time and we have to come back time and time again until we do it right. I think God will give us all the chances we need to get it done right. He is our Father and Loves us very much and he feels we need to experience life in order for our souls to learn and grow. Doesn't that sound more like the Loving and Kind God we know and Love? Instead of the Mean and vengeful God that we were taught in our youth. Who are these people to say just HOW God works? Pretty presumptious of them I would say. Pretty full of themselves, and arrogant too. I have refered this book to many of my friends. I think this book tells us so much about Our creator and Angels and our purpose here. I felt very uplifted after reading this book. It gives us hope for the future. Time in God's eyes is very different from ours. Everything is relative in this universe, from the smallest creature to the largest. We all belong to him.
Rating: Summary: A great spiritual guide... Review: This book was suggested to me by my therapist. I will be grateful to her forever. So much of what Zukav says resonated truth...and, although I disagree with his theory that animals do not have individual souls, the rest of his message worked...at least, for me. I just finished the book last night and my husband will be starting it today. Am going to recommend it my friend ... it's that good. If you're doing inner work or if you're working toward a more whole approach to your life as it relates to the Universe, this book is a must read.
Rating: Summary: An exceptional overview of our awakening consciousness Review: If you are anywhere near looking at the deeper meanings of why you exist, READ THIS BOOK! You will be uplifted by the clarity and matter-of-factness Mr. Zukav brings to the reality of the Soul. Whether you believe in reincarnation and an afterlife or not, this book touches our deepest parts, and explains their function and how to move closer to them.
Rating: Summary: "A truly significant literary work for our times" Review: It is just not possible to cover the scope of this book in a short review. I notice some negative reviews here. God Bless you all. I bought this book when it first came out and I was flying and needed reading material for the flight. I finished it and loaned it to a lady sitting to the side of me. As our flight was nearing its end, she turned to me and asked if I would consider selling it to her, if not, she said she was going to have to find a taxi during her lay over to take her to a book store. I made her a gift of the book. Then, because of her conservative appearance and her age of over 70, I ask her if she believed in reincarnation. She replied "No, I am just looking past that. Then she paused - and said, You know I am not a big reader, but sitting here reading this book, my mind has just filled with the memories of all the wonderful people that I have loved and lost, and those I love that are part of my life now. I am just in awe at a book that could do that." My point - it is a huge misperception and oversight that anyone should judge that this book is ONLY about reincarnation! This wonderful book is about precious insight into this life we have been given, the journey we are on, and this marvelous universe that God has provided for us to have all these experiences. I place this in a category with the best seller, "The Celestine Prophecy." It is a book of insights told by a man who has a true gift of connecting with his reader. I have personally purchased 23 copies of this book, and do not possess a single one at this point because all have been spirited away by friends and relatives who just "had to have it." I wish I could say I had been fortunate enough to have purchased them from Amazon at such an incredible savings. This is a book for sensitive, intelligent people. A truly "Feel Good" read for under $7.00. If you are intelligent and open minded, never mind your personal feelings about reincarnation, you owe it to yourself to read this book. "Seat Of The Soul" is a very apt title for the core material presented here. The best $7 you will ever spend.
Rating: Summary: Falsely Represented Review: After Oprahs show I couldn't wait to get the book! Was suprised that it was about reincarnation. I felt on Oprahs show that Mr. Zukav falsely represented what the book was actually about, by failing to mention the jist of what the book is truly about. I was very disappointed and unhappy with my waste of money.
Rating: Summary: Don't bother!!!! Review: I read it. I hated it. I sold it to someone else who wanted to test Oprah's theory. Reincarnation theory in sheep's clothing.
Rating: Summary: WHATEVER THE PROBLEM, YOU'LL FIND HELP HERE Review: Gary Zukav is a humble, loving man who has found his life's purpose by sharing the wisdom of what he has learned, so that people's spirits can be healed. Healing comes only after awareness and knowledge, and Gary Zukav richly provides both to his readers. Covering subjects such as relationships, addictions, power, illusion and responsibility, he brings new thoughts and insights to old problems. Approching each subject from a spiritual perspective, he shows how the inner affects the outer. You will receive relevation after relevation, as you start to understand the responsibilty you have for creating your own life and circumstances by your intentions, choices and actions. There is a lot of help here, if you are willing to be honest with yourself and do the work required to heal your soul, then the life healing follows. Also of value is his supplemental tape "Authentic Power" in which he relates how his own spiritual quest started.
Rating: Summary: Would recommend to anyone searching for spiritual tools Review: Great book about positive living! We teach our children to do onto each other as they would want done to them, but as adults we forget this. Karma within all relationships and understanding the consequences of your decisions is brought to the forefront. Highly recommend it to anyone.
