Rating: Summary: extremely helpful! Review: the seat of the soul is one of the most informative books that i have ever read. it goes into detail about why we are on this earth, why we experience the things that we do, where our emotions come from, and how we can live life seeing through the eyes of our soul, as well as much more. it has helped me tremendously. a must read.
Rating: Summary: another new ager making millions Review: Zukav is yet another vague un-scienfic writer trying to make millions off the new age hysteria of the 90's...he promotes reincarnation and other mystical non-sense and tries to pass it off as fact...
Rating: Summary: Lessons for life Review: While I don't agree with all the beliefs promoted by this book, I think the lessons are loud and clear and very relevent in today's society.I feel I take away some valuable knowledge which will hopefully be a guide for the the future.
Rating: Summary: Gives You Hope Review: I really enjoyed this book. The book provides a different look at the soul and how it coincides with our personality. All of our addictions can be healed when our need is greater to become whole. He also has profound statements like, all roads lead home. We take many paths and they lead to other paths but eventually lead to home. Very inspirational. A different way of looking at our soul and how it becomes whole. He also adds statements like we choose our parents, family, our mates and friends that we connect with on this planet.
Rating: Summary: My most favorite book Review: This book is, by far, my favorite book - a gift to us, divinely inspired. I have read and re-read this book and recommended it many times to friends. Save your money on The Dancing Wu-Li Masters, but Seat of The Soul is a must!
Rating: Summary: What A Gift Review: I was deeply touched by this book. What a gift! Mr.Zukav's heartfelt explanation of our existance gave me so much confirmation of my own thoughts on life.Thoughts that I can not remember ever NOT having. As for those who did not understand this book, I believe that there are just some things in life that can't be given to you if you do not sense it, feel it. Perhaps it is not the right time in your life for you to "get it", just as there are hundreds of things left in life that I do not get yet! Life is an unending class room of lessons...that is the way I see it!
Rating: Summary: A comforting book indeed but what about being human Review: Gary Zukav is forgetting that we a not only "spirit" but we are also "human". We need to address our humaness. We cant always be loving and compassionate. Gary is so worried to judge anything or anyone. That is fear in its fullest. When we die, then we will have all those qualities that Gary says that we should have. Until then lets try to have them but lets also that we a humans that have those feelings like jealously, judgement etc...
Rating: Summary: Platitudinous non-sense Review: Rehashed 60's lite,pseudo-philosophy, with no meat on the bones. Actually, no bones either. I guess some people have to start somewhere. But this is NOT THE PLACE.
Rating: Summary: Some are going to get it, and some are not. Review: I first read the Seat of the Soul in 1990 and too found it hard to understand. I bought the tape version and have listened to it literally dozens of times. I have listened with my heart and "I get it". This book is about understanding how the world we see as being so hard on everyone could be seen as compassionate. I have taken a step back and took a deep breath and asked myself on many occasions, "what am I doing here?". My technical background wants to make sense of the Earth journey. Gary's book helped me do that. I get it. I read all of the reveiws found here before commenting and I can say that everyone is entitled to their opinions and some "don't get it". This is not uncommon for us, many are devoute Christians and know that loving God and loving neighbor is the key to the whole journey. I get it. You can find this answer in all religions, you can find it in New Age what ever that is(the truth is actually quite old), and you can find it in your own heart and you will get it. Christ was killed by those that on face value didn't get it. On face value many have responded negatively to The Seat of the Soul, I have found it to be very helpful and definately worth the small amount of money I paid for it. I have found the chapter on judgement to be most valuable, not judging those who don't get it keeps me from having to participate in that negativity. Not judging those who put Christ to death is not me getting it, it was Christ's wish, he got it. I highly recommend the tape version of this book and hope those who are searching for spiritual meaning will check it out. I believe you will get it!
