Rating: Summary: Good Stuff in a Too Round About Way Review: As I read Gary's book, I realized the content was important and relevant, but I found it hard to get through. I've read many spiritual books of this nature, and this was the book which took me the longest to read. If you stick with it, there are paragraphs which make it all come together; "A-ha moments." It's just getting to them that's the problem. I'd give this five stars on content, but only 3 on readability. Read "Conversations With God" first if you haven't already.
Rating: Summary: realities Review: I really enjoyed this book. It did go over my head at times but when one stops to consider the meaning it will come. The trick is to understand that we all have our own realities here. Each of us will take away a different interpretation of the same experience. This in mind, Gary wrote beautifully about his reality and what it means to him. I thank him for helping me when I started on my journey. I have grown to understand my own reality and I took from the book what felt right to me and that's all any of us can do. I believe Thessa Belcher wrote (roughly): Words are a bundle of letters to which you have attached some meaning. It is impossible for you to know what meaning I have attached to my work. Whatever it is you think I mean when reading these words, know that it is only your reflection on the page. Use that reflection to see your true self. Words are only as revealing as you are prepared to see."
Rating: Summary: For True Believers Mainly Review: I read a great deal: nonfiction, fiction, history, art, religion, philosophy. I've completed masters degrees in computer science and business administration. I even scored 760 on the verbal section of the SAT. I'm not interested in bragging ('cause who cares anyway?) but saying I'm not exactly illiterate or unfamiliar with struggling with unusual concepts. Yet entire paragraphs would go by without any real comprehension on my part or acceptance either. For all his mild-mannered appearance, Zukav is telling us the way the world is according to Zukav and either you "get it" or you don't. He lays down the law, the truth, and you believe because he says so. Sorry, really, I want to understand but in my heart I believe Zukav is either insane or conning us. God bless you if you accept him. I don't.
Rating: Summary: Seat of the Soul Review: This book will certainly take you on a journey of enrichment. It is profound and very easy to read. To the reader searching for a more meaningful life experience, it undoubtedly awakens a deeper understanding of who we are and teaches how we can live with a more rewarding approach to life and a far deeper purpose. Thank you Gary Zukav.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: Mr.Zukav's book reads like a college text book. It is very hard to get through and gives no new insights to the reader. The basic idea of do unto others as you would have them do unto you is the underlying advice. Why the author felt a need to write nearly 300 pages about it is my question. There is no personality to the writing, no backround to explain how he came to his conclusions about karma and evolution. This book was a complete disappointment and waste of money- hollow and worst of all very poorly written.
Rating: Summary: A extensive analyses of the soul Review: The author Gary Zukav really works through this subject. His scientific approach is very interesting as he analyzes the soul. This is not a book for the casual reader, but a very serious work for the interested individual who will benefit the most from this work. Another book that I also highly recommend on this subject as it discusses the 'Healing of the Soul' in a very practical manner, is Dietmar Scherf's "I Love Me: Avoiding & Overcoming Depression."
Rating: Summary: I wish catholicism was as logical Review: What Zukav says here really makes sense, one can feel it. The problem with main religions doctrines is that they just don't click the intuitive brain. Although I found many parallelisms between what Zukav says and what we have been thought in catholic school. I really recommend this book. To read it one has to have an open mind.
Rating: Summary: Seat of the Soul Review: This book is a wonderful revelation. It touched my heart and I have bought one for eveyone that I know.I cant say enough about this book , buy it and read it and pass it on.
Rating: Summary: Read all about it! Review: Zukav's book is both thought provking and life changing, but it is all in the "open mindness" of the reader. You don't have to believe or accept any or all of it, but it does cause one to think. It helped me understand better the differences between the five- and multi-sensory humans, the illusions, power and trust that we all have / desire to have in our lives. You've got to "Read all about it" and see for yourself. Who knows? It may change your life for the better.
Rating: Summary: With your heart & mind open, you can learn from this book! Review: Matters of faith and spirituality do not require scientific proofs and authoritative references. Can anyone prove that the words of the Bible or Koran are "true"? I do not presume to compare "Seat of the Soul" with these books, but there are valuable messages contained in it. To receive the gifts of understanding, joy, hope and oneness with the universe that this book gave to me, suspend your insistence that Christianity, Budhism, science, logic or any other belief that you have is the only truth. Open your heart and mind and FEEL what happens when you make choices based on love and compassion as this book suggests. Gary Zukav cannot change your life, only you can do that; however, he has provided us with some very useful insights and perspectives to guide us on the journey. There are many lessons to learn in this book and they will be different for each of us.
