Summary: WHAT REALLY MATTERS
Review: Gary Zukov takes an extraordinary leap into the realm of the separation of the personality or worldly needs with the needs and desires of the "soul". I found the book inspiring, thought provoking and yes, I believe, life altering. His approach involves unraveling the quest we all have for finding and striving for true meaning and joy in our lives. As a result, I find myself reflecting upon my own motivations and intentions regarding any major, and often, seemingly minor decisions I am faced with in my life. His work is an inspiration for any heart who makes room. Thank you, Gary.

Summary: New Age Psychobabble
Review: I am so happy I borrowed the audiotape from the library. Not having spent money on this makes me extremely happy. You can believe in Angels, Reincarnation, Karma, or whatever you like, but there is not one iota of proof any of it exists. And the funny thing is if you ask for proof the New Ager will say we just don't have the "sensory capabilites." Read Carl Sagan's Demon Haunted World especially his section on having a Dragon in his garage. This stuff is just plain silly. Accept reality. There are no angels, ghosts, goblins, alien abductions. We spend a short time here then we die. And we don't have a soul. The brain and the mind are one and when it dies, we die. Although a little depressing, I'd rather than know the truth than be bamboozled. If you read a book by Gary Zukav, read Dancing Wu Li Masters which is excellent layman's guide to physics. But how in the world did he write this?

Summary: New Age Fluff
Review: I'm afraid this review is going to generate a lot of negative Karma. I couln't buy Zukov's description of an apparently new religion. He treats his subject as if it is established fact rather than the fanciful theory that it is. It would have helped if he could have supported his premises with some real life experiences or better yet shown how great thinkers might have supported his ideas. What one reviewer called a poetic writing style, I found redundant and ponderous. I'm sorry but I'm not ready to pray for the dolphin soul in order to lift them to a higher state of consciousness.

Summary: Real Spiritual Guidance
Review: This book offers real spiritual guidance for those seeking a higher level of awareness and knowledge of themselves and the human experience. The theories are well-structured and thorough, with examples that clarify the principles. I found this book to be very helpful in my search for meaning and purpose in my life.

Summary: Quit reading and act
Review: If you are seeking change and took the time to read this book then I suspect that you have read several others and are in the paralysis of analysis. Quit reading and act now.

Summary: Inuitively Speaking
Review: Seek and ye shall find my copy of Seat of the Soul at the local book re-sale shop. If you read the reviews, most of the 5-star ratings come from (read more about me) professionals.I bought the book following the author's appearance on Oprah; intuition told me to go the library route. The book is infuriatingly complex. Multi-sensories in process seek ye elsewhere.

Summary: On getting to know yourself.
Review: Gary Zukav's "Seat of the Soul" is a treatise on the empowerment of one's soul. Zukav discusses really living one's life rather than seeking the approval of others. He deeply emphasizes developing a reverence for all life. I think the following quote from the book is an eloquent distillation of his message: "When the energy of the soul is recognized, acknowledged, and valued, it begins to infuse the life of the personality. When the personality comes fully to serve the energy of its soul, that is authentic empowerment." Through anecdotes and discussion, Zukav suggests that we become intimate with our emotions, since they affect our intentions. He also stresses that we are here to learn lessons, creating situations for ourselves that bring us face-to-face with what we need to learn most. He writes at length about intuition, compassion, responsibility, and power. "You lose power when you fear" he explains, and suggests that we cultivate feeling what is happening in our bodies rather than follow our thoughts about those feelings. If you are touched by his message and the power of awareness in our lives, I suggest you grab a copy of "Working on Yourself Doesn't Work" by Ariel and Shya Kane. I've read many books that have pointed the way to a great life, but this one went right to the heart of the matter - that trying to fix yourself keeps you stuck in the places you'd like get out of, but getting into the moment will set you free. Enjoy these books!

Summary: Seat of the Soul is for anyone awakening to their spiritual
Review: If you are some one who is awakening to the spiritual world, this book will help to clarify what you are feeling. More & more people are awakening to the inner world & Gary Zukav helps you to understand the process.

Summary: Emotionally Powerful
Review: This book is very inspirational. It takes a difficult to explain topic like the soul and makes it understandable. It is one thing to comprehend on an emotional or intuitive level what the author discusses in "Seat of the Soul" but totally another to attempt to verbalize it as beautifully and clearly as Gary Zukav does in this book. Highly recommended!

Summary: SOME ORIGINAL INSIGHTS
Review: I found his theory of the transition from the 5-sensory to the multi-sensory very interesting and gained new insights from his thoughts on the relationship between the personality and the soul. However, the 2nd part of the book starts to drag a bit with constant re-iteration of ideas that I have already encountered in many other books. A bit more focus on practical application of these ideas would have been better. All in all a pleasant read with some new discoveries but certainly not in my Top 10 metaphysical books.
