Rating: Summary: Second Great book in the Quinn brothers trilogy Review: "Rising Tides" is the second book about the three Quinn brothers. This story revolves around Ethan and his relationship with Grace Monroe. Ethan has had perhaps the most disturbing past of the three boys adopted by Ray and Stella Quinn, but he has managed to become a wonderful, caring man and successful fisherman. Ethan and Grace have been friends for years. Grace cleans houses (including the Quinn's) and waitresses in order to support herself and her two year old daughter, Aubrey. Grace works incredibly hard and is a wonderful, complex character. Grace has been in love with Ethan for years and vice versa, although neither of them has acted upon it. This story is full of love and sadness, romance and fulfillment, as Grace and Ethan finally come together. It is a truly touching and lovely story, and is probably my favorite of the three. Seth's story is also continued in this installment, as his mother begins to pose more of a threat to him. The interaction between Seth and his brothers makes this more than just a simple romance. NR does a fabulous job of dealing with difficult emotions and complex relationships. She really makes the reader care about these characters and what happens to them. I highly recommend this book. It is full of all the aspects of life, and mixes moving and poignant scenes with humorous and amusing ones that will make you laugh. This is an excellent read and you do not want to miss it!

Rating: Summary: BROTHERS THAT NO ONE SHOULD MESS WITH Review: AFTER READING INNER HARBOR, CHESAPEAKE BLUE, AND THEN SEA SWEPT, JUST IN THAT ORDER HELPED ME TO UNDERSTAND AND ENJOY THE LAST TWO BOOKS OF THE SERIES. THEN WITH THIS BOOK IT HELPED ME TO SEE THE BOND THAT ETHAN HAD WITH SETH. SEEMED TO BE STRONGER THAN THE OTHER TWO BROTHERS. BUT ALL OF THEM ARE BECOMING VERY CLOSE EVERYDAY. THERE IS LOVE, UNDERSTANDING AND COMPASSION FOR THE LAST QUINN, SETH. ALL THE CHARACTERS INVOLVED HAVE A PASSION TO KEEP SETH WHERE HE BELONGS AND IT IS TRUELY AMAZING THE BOND THAT CAN'T AND WILL NOT BREAK. ETHAN AND GRACE ARE SUCH A SWEET COUPLE. IT WAS MORE ROMANTIC FOR THEM TO GET TOGETHER THAN ANY OTHER COUPLE IN THE SERIES FOR THEY HAVE BEEN IN LOVE FOR ABOUT TEN YEARS. EVEN THOUGH NEITHER WOULD ADMIT IT. THE LOVE SCENES COME FAST PUT THEN AGAIN THEY HAVE WAITED TOO LONG TO GET TOGETHER. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE BOOKS OF THE QUINN BROTHERS. YOU CAN'T HELP BUT FALL IN LOVE WITH EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM.

Rating: Summary: Yawn Review: Ah..it was not all that great. I am a big Nora robert fan and somewhat expected more than this novel
Rating: Summary: Second is number one in my book! Review: Don't get my wrong, I love ALL of Nora's books (okay, well maybe with the exception of HOMEPORT, but I think I read that one too quickly to appreciate it!) but I always seem to find that it's the second book in her trilogies that enchants me. TEARS OF THE MOON, BORN IN ICE, HOLDING THE DREAM, are all the second book from their respective trilogies and are all the one that I favor more than the other two. In RISING TIDES, the same is true. I much preferred the relationship with Ethan and Grace, compared to Sybill and Phillip and Cam and Anna. RISING TIDES takes place right where SEA SWEPT left off. Cam and Anna are on their honeymoon and Ethan is left in charge of Seth during the week while Phillip is working in the city. Grace Munroe, an old family friend, cooks and cleans for the Quinns and also acts as a sort of mother to Seth. Grace and Ethan have known each other almost their entire lives. Both have been secretly in love (and in lust) with each other, almost as long. One night Grace is harassed by an ogling customer at the local bar she works at but before anything can happen, Ethan steps in out of the shadows and rescues her. This leads to a fight between the two where Grace stubbornly claims that even if Ethan hadn't arrived, she could have handled the situation on her own. Ethan merely challenges her to prove how she would have done that and plants a passionate kiss on her - one that sends both their heads and hearts reeling. After that night, neither Grace nor Ethan can go back to the way things were between them before. But, whereas Grace views the kiss as the first step towards a relationship, Ethan backs away for fear that he can never give Grace the life she deserves. This is a classic tale of two friends discovering more and learning that love can heal all that wounds, past and present. I am a HUGE fan of Nora's stories that involve two friends finding out that more than friendship lies between them. If you liked this book, I suggest that you try TEARS OF THE MOON (Shawn and Brenna are irresistable!) and THE MAGREGGOR BRIDES (the last story, Cullum and Julia will jump start your heart).
Rating: Summary: Love it Review: Ethan and Grace are perfect for eachother, but It got really irritating how he thought Grace was 'delicate' and 'fragile' expecially after she is raising a daughter alone and working such hard jobs. She stood up to him and that was cool. They really flow together.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful book- I love Nora Roberts books Review: Ethan is a believable character in this book. The pain he suffers from past abuse is very real and life like. The way in which he can help Seth turns this book into more than a romance. Grace is a wonderful woman who does everything she can to fight for the love she deserves with the man she wants. I always appreciate Nora Roberts books. I like it when she writes something more than a romance or mystery. The real life topic in this book is child abuse and the devastating, life long effect it can have on families and people. Nora manages to tackle this very hard subject and still write an enjoyable book with a wonderful romance. Although each book can stand alone, it is much nicer I find, to read the trilogies together in order. The characters grow and the plot builds until you reach a very satisfying ending.
Rating: Summary: A moving tale of love and overcoming the past. Review: Ethan was the most calm of the Quinn brothers. He seemed to content to work on his fishing boat, but then he's saddled with the responsibility of caring for his new brother Seth, with whom he has a lot in common. Then there's his quiet love for Grace, a woman he's known for years. He wants her, but he fears he's not family material, because of his brutal past. The author dips into the subject of child abuse and its' forms with a sensitivity and depth, making one feel much sadness for the hero, and yet wanting the reader to scream "Go for it anyway!". Though Ethan is calm, I sensed a fire in him that he was afraid to unlease, and the author creates a scene that demonstrates his loss of self-control in a revealing way. Grace proved herself to be a strong woman, raising a child on her own, working at the local restaurant and being a part-time housekeeper for the Quinns, despite her delicate looking features. This was my favorite book in the series.
Rating: Summary: Audiocassette review Review: First, I must say that I loved the book Rising Tides; in fact, I thought the trilogy was one of Nora Roberts' best. Since I enjoy listening to books on tape while I am commuting, I checked out this book's unabridged version from the library. Of course, the story line, whether read or heard, holds up well, but I was a bit taken aback at the voice of Cameron Quinn. I realize that one narrator must convey all of the characters' voices and maintain the listener's understanding of who is thinking or saying the statement, but, really. David Stuart made Cam sound like a 70 year old, 3 pack a day smoker with throat cancer. His gravelly voice really distracted from this audio. I have also listened to the unabridged version of Sea Swept (also recorded by David Stuart), and he did Cam's voice in a much more moderate style. Still, an enjoyable listen, and all of the positive reviews given the book's hardcover and paperback versions still apply.
