Summary: Best Fiction I have Read in a While
Review: I usually do not read much fiction as I can't find anything that thrills me but this book I could not put down. Just finished this one and have ordered the next one immediately. A great book for vacation time where you can completely immerse yourself in the excitement and passion.

Summary: What Romance!
Review: I have read the four books of this growing series. They are so enjoyable, and maybe unlike some people, I am so glad they go on for almost a thousand pages! Diana Gabaldon has a real flare for writing romance, not just sex, for touching the sacred while keeping her characters real. I thought that Claire accepted a little too readily her appearance in Scotland 200 years earlier, but after awhile, I forgot about that and accepted it, too. The Jaime-Claire romance is so wonderful as a fantasy, but it also teaches us that real love is possible. Sometimes, in order to accept fantasy, we have to suspend our desire to want everything to fall neatly into "real" boxes. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

Summary: This series is ADDICTING!!!!!
Review: I loved this book so much, that I immediately went out and bought the rest of the series. If you're considering buying this beek, I reccomend you buy at least one of the books which follow it, you'll want them. I fell completely in love with Jamie and I wanted to be Claire so badly that I didn't want the series to end--I wanted to continue living vicariously through her. This book, and the ones which follow, are a MUST READ if you're a romance novel lover!

Summary: Exciting, escapist historical fiction
Review: Fun to read! Why else would you bother with 800+ pages? The ending, however, is unsatisfying - it begs you to read the second book in the series, which is a disappointing tactic. It leaves a few loose ends. Some of the sex and violence is a little overdone - not offensive, just unnecessarily repetetive and a little tiresome.

Even so, Ms. Gabaldon is a marvelous story-teller.

Summary: Gabaldon Rules!!!
Review: This series of books are my all time favorites! They provide entertainment and yet not a fluff read. Make sure you have the entire series close at hand so you don't waste time looking around for these.

Summary: More than a Romance Series
Review: I'm not a "romance" reader, but this particular series gripped me from the very beginning. The Scottish background, history, rich characters, and the hint of science fiction/fantasy....the series has everything. I read through all four books so fast and I've been waiting patiently for the next one to be published! Now I'm ready to begin re-reading the entire series from the first page! Diana - please get the next book out soon!

Summary: *WOW*
Review: Ok, so I had been told to read Gabaldon's books and I hadn't because I thought there could be nobody better than Kurland when it came to historical romance/time travel. Also, have you seen the size of Gabaldon's books! Anyway, I broke down and got Outlander and...well, I'm just speechless. The detail and heart wrenching moments, unexpected and sometimes hidden humor...it just has everything you could want in a true "best book of my life" type of read. This book just makes you want to find a way to travel back in time yourself just so you can meet and know Jamie and Claire, and be a part of their family.

Summary: One of the best books I've ever read!
Review: This book has got to be one of the most entertaining books that I have had the pleasure to read. Not only is there romance, but adventure, suspense, and more. Diana Gabaldon has done a fabulous job of taking two people from completly different worlds, bringing them together and creating a most entertaining story. I hope she writes more books, either in this same series or creating a whole new character.

Summary: I'm hooked on these now...
Review: I was talking to a friend about books and she showed me her 4 Gabaldon books as her "all time favorites" and offered to loan them to me so I could enjoy them as well - I got through Outlander in 4 days and it is my favorite so far (I am working through the last 100 pages of Voyager now) and it's a truly enchanting novel. It's part romance, part historical ficton, part adventure - it's a light read but not entirely mindless - all in all a wonderful book!

Summary: Perfect Romance!
Review: No, Outlander by Diana Gabaldon is not strictly a romance book; but it should be the standard by which romantic fiction is written. No more-ho hum, I know where this is going reading. I was not prepared to have things in the plot not go as I expected and it took me a little while to trust the author and her vision for this book. That's exciting reading. Full of history, fantasy, humor, violence, romance; whatever your tastes-this book was a great read. Be sure not to miss Dragonfly In Amber, Voyager and Drums Of Autumn; the rest of the books so far in this series.
