Summary: The Cay book review
Review: Theodore Taylor's The Cay, an adventre/survivial story, is one book that frequires only one thing for you to love it... have a plulse! The story starts when Phillip and his mom want to avoid World War Two on the island called Curaco, where they now live and go back to the U.S. But instead of geting to safety their ship is torpedoed. That's when Phillip is blinded by a blow to the head and pulled on to a raft by Timothy, A sixty to seventy year old man and Stew, the chef's cat. They ate then cast upon a cay, and even Timothy is not sure where they are.
While Phillip is learning about getting around by feeling with a cane that Timothy made him, Timothy is building a shelter and getting food. He is also teaching Philllip how to fish and Phillip thinks there is a good reason for this. Taylors descriptive style makes The Cay a must-read for everyone from eight to eighty years old.

Summary: Good, but the ending was sad, and sometimes really racism.
Review: Here's The Good: "The Cay," is a really good book, why in school, we had to read it and think of Curiosity Questions (Cu), Clarifying Questions (Cl), and Reivewing Questions (Rv). Here's the bad: This was really racism, because Phillip, kept calling Timothy a Negro, and almost at the end, Timothy is dead, because the storm, ripped his flesh. Here's the weird: On Chapter 19, the person on the boat, called Phillip a naked boy, and if you're going to make a remake of the original movie, then you should rate it PG-13 for Adventure Action/Peril, Brief Mild Language, Partial Nudity, and Thematic Elements. I give this movie a ***** (5 out of 5).

Summary: The Cay
Review: I loved the story The Cay by Theador Taylor. I thought it was really well written, I also thought He put alot of effort and information in it. My favorite part of the story was when Phillip taught Timothy all the knowalage he had about cays. I like that part because it feels like these caracters found an understanding of each other.
Iwould have changed the part when Timothy Took Stew-Cat off the island. I understood everything about why he did that, but it was just wierd.
I would recomend this book for someone who is ten or over.

Summary: The Cay
Review: I think The Cay could have been a little more interesting than it was.
Such as, whene phillip fell of the raft Timothy could have killed the shark for some food ,whilethey were stranded.
I also think it could have been alittle more understandable, because I thought that Timothy sent Stew Cat away on the raft before the hurricane, but whene the hurricane came Stew Cat was there.
I think the most interesting part of the book was how Phillip could surrvive on an island by himself while being blind.I Think that I would recomend this book to grades sixth and up.Iwould also recomend it to someone else because ther taste in reading might be different. But on the other hand it was a good book!

Summary: The cay
Review: I liked this a lot because it was exciting and a real page turner. If this book was long enough I probably would have read it all night long. There wasn't a single part in the story that I thought was boring so I wouldn't want to stop reading. My favorite part of the book was chapter three because it was the most exciting part of the book. The part of the story that was my least favorite was the begining because there wasn't much excitment and it just told when and where the story took place. I recommend this book to anyone ages 9 and up.

Summary: The Cay
Review: I think that The Cay is a very good book. It could use a little bit more detail. I thought it was layed out good, but the book could use some pictures. They should have said a little bit more about what happened to Philip at the end of the story. I thought it was avery interesting and very detailed book. The detail made you picture what was happening throughtout the whole story. the way they worded the whole story is fasinating. How he said the words of Timothy is amazing. I like Timothy the best because he says the most interesting phrases. It's like I could almost understand Timothy better than Philip. My favorite part was when Philip got saved by a ship. I would recommend this book to someone to read. I think that grades four through six should read this book.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: The Cay
Review: I liked The Cay and I did not like The Cay. I think Mom and Dad should have been in the book more than they were. The author should take a little part out; the war part and raft part. The author should put more about when Timothy and Phillip were on the raft and Phillip fell off the raft and Timothy went to resuce Phillip. I think six graders and parents should read The Cay.

Summary: The Cay Reveiw
Review: I liked the story so much I could read it over. I liked how Phillip learned a very important lesson - don't judge a person on what their skin type is because on the inside we're all the same. I liked the whole book, from the part of Phillip's family thinking blacks are different, to the raft, when Phillip meets Timothy and Stew Cat and when Phillip was blind he had to trust Timothy... Phillip learned to trust Timothy, and their friendship became very strong; only a hurricane could break their true friendship up.

Summary: The Cay
Review: I like this story because it has a lot of details, like how the author told about Timothy with a lot of details like how he said "He was a big black man with a flat nose." It is also cool how the author wrote this book during World War II. The reason I think the author put a black person and a white person in because that's when a lot of white people did not like black people. On a rating of 1 to 10 I'd give it a 9. I think this was a very good book. My favorite part is when there is the very big hurricane. I think the age group would be 8 and up.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: The Cay
Review: I think this is one of the best books I have ever read. The only thing that bummed me out was the fact that Timothy died.I think that Timothy was a better character than Phillip was mean. That's O.K. but I still think it's a great piece of literature.I would reccomend this book to someone who likes adventure and someone who is over the age of eight.
