Summary: Great Book
Review: I recommend this book to anyone who likes adventurous books. This book is adventurous because Philip gets shipwrecked. 'We were torpedoed at about three o'clock in the morning on April 6th, 1942.' Another reason I recommend this book is because it shows how life is if you have no help. 'Aside from Stew Cat, I was blind and alone on a forgotten cay.' That means that he was all by himself with no help from Timothy, who used to help him. Now he had to try and get rescued by himself.

Review: The Cay is a book written by Theodore Taylor. It is one of the best books I have ever read. One of the major themes in the book is prejudice. This book is about a boy named Phillip. When he and his mom leave an island for the U.S. the ship is attacked and a bump on the head leaves Phillip blind. When he wakes up, he is on a raft with a black man named Timothy and a cat. Read the book to discover how blindness influences the friendship between Phillip and Timothy. I would recommend this story to all ages 8 and up because younger ones might not get it. I would also recommend it because it is very sad at times, but also surprising. My favorite part is when Phillip is crawling around on a raft and accidentally falls into the water with sharks! Will he be able to survive? Will someone be able to find him? To find out, read the book. I give this story two thumbs up! This story took me on a Amazing Adventure!

Review: The Cay is a book with a lot of adventure. The main theme of the book is prejudice. It's a book about a boy named Phillip who was on a boat that gets torpedoed by a submarine. When Phillip wakes up he is on a raft with a black man that has a Jamaican accent. The black man's name is Timothy. Timothy and Phillip have to survive stranded on an island. Phillip didn't like Timothy because he was black. When Phillip becomes blind he can only see what was inside Timothy instead of his skin color. Being blind was good for Phillip because he became a different character, so instead of seeing the outside, he saw what was in the inside. While Phillip was blind he learned a new way of life. Read the story to see what happens! I would rate this book a 10 out of 10 because this book was a huge excitment to read. The Cay, by Theodore Taylor, was a fabulous book. I hope you decide to read it.

Summary: Action and Adventure in The Cay
Review: The Cay by Theodore Taylor is a great book of action and adventure. A young boy named Phillip is living with his mother and father on an Caribbean island name Curacao. Oh, did I mention he is living there during World War II? Anyways, Phillip thinks of war as a game, but his mother wants to leave the island of Curacao because of war. Phillip and his mother leave on a ship named "The Hato" and they get bombed by a submarine. When Phillip wakes up after being hit on the head he is with a black man named Timothy and a cat named Stew Cat in a raft. Phillip eventually goes blind, and all three get stranded on an island. The book shows how Phillip goes from being prejudice about Timothy to being his friend, and how Timothy teaches Phillip to live on the Cay with his new condition. In the beginning of the book, Phillip really hates Timothy for the way he looks. After he goes blind he forgets about how he looks and focuses more on his feelings and the way he acts. I would recommend this story to anyone 10 years or older because of hard vocabulary. I enjoyed when Phillip goes into the fishing hole and finds a cave inside and something suddenly bites him! To see what happens, check out this awesome book.

Review: This book i sugest 6 and 7th graders shoud read. Because it is about a war and a child trying to survive when he was blind. And after a little while a helicopter flew over and lowered a rope to have someone rescue him.

Review: In the book, The Cay, there is a war going on and a boy named Philip floats away and meets an old man named Timothy. The two become friends and they arrive at an island for a very long time. After a while, Philip becomes blind and Timothy teaches him to do things that would seem almost impossible for a blind person to do. I loved this exciting book!!

Review: The Cay written by Theodore Taylor illustrates the destruction of world war two. I think it is a compelling story that should be read by all. This book also teaches many morals witch are good to know in life. For example this story shows teamwork when the two main characters Philip and Timothy must build a hut to survive. As I mentioned the two main characters are Philip and Timothy. Philip is a young boy from Virgina. He is living on a cluster of Dutch Islands of the coast of Venezuela. Timothy is a older man who works on a boat that computes from the Islands to the U.S. They end up meeting in a usual way. I think all ages would enjoy this book. by chris

Review: I thought The Cay was an AWESOME book! It was very thrilling and exciting. I liked it a lot. Our Challenge class read it and liked it so much and we finally conviced our homeroom teacher to read it to our class! Now, everybody in our class and maybe even the others can enjoy this awesome book! I loved this book and I think it'd be a great adventure!
