Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Stunning!!!!! Review: Having been a searcher of why people are so bad to themselves for a very long time, this book offers intelligent answers to some of lifes Queries, i feel that most of the people on this review page really have not given 'Celestine the study it deserves, if you are bound by the egotisical ideals of 'black spirituaism as mentioned by some of the other negative reviewers then you may as well not try to read anything that may give you a sense of worth! Read Celestine prophecy and be lost in the idea that everyone want's peace on earth and a higher understanding of self. many roads lead to rome and this book represents a highway. I laugh at the reviewers on this page that gave it such negative comments, however al i can do is to smile and keep the shine of my energy from being tainted from sad conditioned individuals.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Fun story Review: To the nay sayers - count the number of reader reviews... yours included. The story reminded me of pulp westerns, good guys, bad guys and a rudimentary plot. If you've ever studied Chi Kung, Reiki or Akido you will be able to identify with the energy field concepts in this book. My suggestion is read it for fun and take what you think is relevant from it.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Spritual Baking - Requires a Pinch of Salt! Review: Within a few weeks of a friend mentioning this book to me, virtually everyone else I know was talking about it - that's hype for you. But having been warned about the apaling literary style, I found this short novel quite fascinating and relatively well deserved of its fame. To fully appreciate the merits of this book, you have to recognise that the story is merely a vehicle that enables Redfield to present his ideas in a format that is accessible to all. Reading between the lines and concentrating on the concepts presented results in some interesting (if not far-fetched towards the end, admittedly) spiritual ideas. I have to question whether people can dispute the validity of the first two Insights at least? I believe this is a novel that will appeal to many of todays disenchanted people who believe in the possibility a more selfless existence, people who hope they are not alone in their disappointment of humanity in the late Twentieth Century. Reading "The Celestine Prophecy" requires a pinch of salt, but for those who are honest and open enough to consider alternative naratives, this is an interesting read that should make you think.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Man goes on a journey to learn to secrets of life Review: One of the worst books I have ever read. Utterly trite and condescending. The only reason I finished the book is that I have a long-standing policy to finish every book I start. This was one book for which I should have ignored my own policy. Don't even waste your time.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Great concept, mediocre book. Review: Redfield writes vividly about spirituality and its components: energy, auras, etc. However, the underlying plot is a bit dull. If you like these concepts, try Crichton's "Travels" or possibly a Daniel Quinn book (for differnt ways of looking at the world).
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Celestine Hypocrasy Review: Upon reading this tripe when it originally came out, I wondered why I spent the time. Actually I wondered why I hadn't spent the time writing a book myself, for I, too would surely like to be rich. I had always stopped myself for not feeling quite ready to write. Well, that didn't stop this courageous bozo from collecting his money, did it? Anyway, I write here now only to praise my fellow-reviewers. Your comments are worth having shared the terrible experience of reading this dribble. I also take a small amount of glee in joining in to bring down the rating of this "book". Of course this "author" is laughing all the way to the bank. So? Let him. I agree, though, that he should stop killing trees and also stop pumping up egos. I think I'll re-read my Nancy Drew series. It was a far, far better dose of transport.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Good for use as a door-stop Review: Was this book written by someone who 'works' for Amway? Utter tripe
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Made me think deeply Review: This book was great. I like travel books, and if you're smart enough to understand this one, you'll love it. This book's insights gave me a new spiritual clarity.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Hokum dressed up as insight Review: The Celestine Prophecy is execrable nonsense--churned out to turn a quick buck. If you want real spiritual insight, check out the writings of Rene Daumal. Redpath is a cretin but he knows how to exploit a naive public.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: This book was the worst book I have ever read. Review: Like the rest of you, I had heard incredible things about this book. I no longer have faith in bestseller lists and the publics' reviews. This book was the worst book I have ever read. It was like watching a "b movie" with the acting so bad that I actually began to be fed up with the characters. No character in the book had any depth or likeable qualities whatsoever. It is obvious that the people who found this book enlightening have never read The Alchemist or Siddarhta. The Celestine Prophecy does not deserve the acclaim that it has received.
