Summary: Good book for people who have a level 2 way of thinking.
Review: If you are interested in spirituality and eastern philosophy, this is a good book to begin with. Energy is a very important thing to understand. The book is written in a outer-level/level one way, but with level two concepts, so that almost anyone can understand it. If this book intrigued you then take the next step. If you hated it, then you don't have the capacity to understand this way of thinking and being.

Summary: Some good points, some barleywaggle.
Review: I think the point to the plain writing style was to make this novel approachable to the masses. I don't know about energizing until I'm invisible, or having to pay for it for that matter, but I found what he says about dramas, dealing with people, and raising children interesting and applicable.

Summary: Intriguing...
Review: What I find most interesting about this review section is not that people are incapable of enjoying the book, but that they are so adamant on proving their dislike for it. Also fascinating is the crowd who express, "Well, I got it from a friend who recommended it and.." and then in the next breath state, "people in America are so hungry for an answer, a key, a message of some greater proportion." I can't imagine a clearer case of hipocracy. Within their own review, they have admitted that they took part in the "grand searching" scheme that was so penile a few sentences back. Why was the book opened to begin with? Go figure.

The Celestine Prophecy was an interesting book. Redfield's ability to write is not in question and shouldn't be held in such high regard. I can't even begin to imagine how many great works would have been silenced if this criteria were of any importance when taking in the big picture, or "grand scheme of things" as suggested earlier.

Allow yourself to grow. An open mind is the first sign of intelligence.

Summary: Frightening
Review: If you're a fan of Christian rock, this here "book" is right up your alley.

Otherwise, run for your life.

Summary: Nice ideas, a pain to read
Review: After reading this book in 1994, I thought it was a book with nice ideas, but it was difficult to read. After all the hoopla I decided to read it again in 1997 to see if I just didn't get it. No, I was right the first time. The author deserves credit for introducing these insights, so I suppose overall the book is worth a read, but be ready to work hard in the process.

Summary: Excellent plot and insights buried in cheesy writing
Review: The insights that the author is trying to make people think about are really valuable, and I did get a lot out of the book. Almost gave it four stars but the writing is so darn awful in places: cheesy prose and so full of typos that I was wondering if anyone actually edited it!

Summary: A revealing guidebook for the path of spiritual knowledge
Review: The reviews I've read of this book seem to focus on how well it was written, whether it conforms well to fiction, etc. They miss the point of this book; how what is said is less important than what is said. If in your spiritual journey you are searching for what this books says, it will speak to you. If not, it will appear as pointless garbage. Such is the way of truth. For a companion volume, I would suggest: "Manual for the Peacemaker : An Iroquois Legend to Heal Self & Society" by Jean Houston, Margaret Rubin.

Summary: This book is hokey.
Review: The Celestine Prophecy came highly recommended from friends. While some of the ideas it raised were interesting, the book was disappointing and hokey.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Nice idea buried in the worst piece of writing imaginable
Review: I happen to enjoy books on Spirituality. But this book is so poorly written as to take your breath away. How could anyone finish the entire book?? It gets one star because there is no option to give zero stars -- it's that poorly written. It makes "The Christmas Box" look like Tolstoy.

If you'd like to find keys to spiritual enlightenment, read "A Return to Love" by Marianne Williamson instead. It is fabulous! For Fiction try Deepak Chopra's "Way of the Wizard." It's not bad.

Summary: This book really makes you think of the world
Review: It is an amazing novel, Im so glad I bought it. It tells the story of religion and adventures into new places and its a story that really keeps you reading. James Redfield is an exellent writer and I will continue to buy his books. I love the ending of The Celestine Prophecy: An Adventure and I am definitley going to buy the sequile. Im really looking forward to finding out where the characters will travel next and what will be in the Tenth Insight. Thank You

P.S. I would like to buy the next sequile for The Celestine Prophecy but there are 2, I was just wondering if someone could get back to me on which book is the next one after that first one. Hope to hear from someone. Thank You
