Rating: Summary: If you want a crappy piece of literature, it'll work. Review: I found this book repulsive. It was as if this was written by a five year old, that thought that Dr. Suess was a master of adult fiction. I have read it and the story does eventually get interesting, but only the action ansd insights. Not the dialogue nor the descriptions. Also I saw most of the insights as common sense for a decent human being. I would not recommend this book if you want to extend your vocabulary. The sentence repeated annoyingly is "I was completely captivated..." or synonyms thereof. The book was just not my cup of tea.
Rating: Summary: Experiencing life as it is happening now Review: I was recommended to read this book, because of the way my life is going at present, and cannot believe that I have already experienced Insights 1 and 2 before even reading the book! I have already sensed the changes around me in the last year and can only anticipate with interest the forthcoming one.
Rating: Summary: "A Look in the Mirror of Life" Review: This book was amazing! I am currently reading it for the second time. This book made all of the coincidences, meetings, and spirtitual insights that I experience on regular basis, tangible. I was connected with instruction on not only how to recognize these happenings, but also on how to define their symbolism in my life. I am currently passing the book on to everyone I know. A friend of mine just read it and he feels the same way I do. This book changed my life and was exciting as well. The author gets many compliments and I thank God for giving Mr.Redfield the words to express and clarify the questions that in moany cases we are too proccupied to answer for ourselves.
Rating: Summary: "Outstanding" Review: This book is very inspirational and needs an opened mind to read it, for one cannot expect to celebrate a 15'by 20' idea..with a 2" by 4" inch mind. It's an outstanding book. You also may want to try two other books that are outstanding. (Conversations with God..and The Third Time Is Now)
Rating: Summary: The book changed my life - the way of looking at people. Review: Even after about 5 years, this book still rates number one whenever i talk about 'life changing books'. This is the only fiction book i've ever read. I generally read non-fiction: autobiography, spiritual books. This is a spiritual book - i always go back to this book for spiritual, philosophical and cultural discussion with friends. It can only bring the best out of a person, out of a friend, an acquantance, even an 'enemy'. I cannot say enough good about this book, i just wish my mom would read it if i can find a copy translated into the Chinese language. But, i know my mother is not insterested in reading any of the spiritual books - whether it is the Bible or any Taoist books. If my mom would choose to read this book, we can be better friends. This is a book of both [upmost enjoyment] (like taking a real trip physically, a great break from work and daily living in a big city) and [peace and enlightment]. I thank the author!
Rating: Summary: An enlightening experience Review: This book was like nothing I have read before - a wonderful tale of mystery and philosophy, the way it should be appreciated. The insights can only be truly understood when you apply them to your own life and existence - trust me, it will change the way you perceive almost every experience.
Rating: Summary: Look inside yourself and try to improve what you see. Review: Very simply written. Not a lot of 100 dollar adjectives that send you sprinting for the dictionary. It made me think about some of the bad habits the human race has developed and set me on a path to improve these character flaws in myself. YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY INTO ALL OF IT TO GET SOMETHING OUT OF IT! oh yeah, and you can probably finish it in a matter of days (or hours).
Rating: Summary: A book that admits realities some don't want to see... Review: The art of writing a personal theory as a fictional story not only kept me interested, but challenged the way I look at my actions in everyday life. This book causes the reader to think, and is one that can be read time and time again to reinforce the theories, especially the one about competing for energy.I now find that friends I have never before discussed this book, with will quote something from it, in relation to an event in one of our lives, and we find ourselves in a discussion of the insights. All in all, a MUST READ!
Rating: Summary: To the critics... Review: ..just wanted to say 'congratulations for being stuck in a 15th century thought pattern.' Oh and hay, are you the same people who think those 'magic eye' books are pointless wastes of time? To the people who are considering reading this book: Do it and decide for yourselves okay? You can love it, you can hate it - I'm not gonna tell ya what to think. I want to also remind you that anywhere you get a buncha people together, there is a huge chance of disagreement. Which is what you're seeing if you've read these reviews. So really, decide for yourself. But try to start open minded okay? Just a suggestion. Cause you know, you're only limited by your own doubts of what you can accomplish. Enuff said.
Rating: Summary: People, there are very very few books I read non-stop. Review: Okay, one thing about this book. Many people seem to expect it to be a fictional novel, action-packed, yadda yadda ya. It's not really, cause the adventure comes when you 'wake up' and apply these insights to your own life. And trust me, change is good! I can't even begin to tell you what a huge impact this book has had on me - it's still changing my life and my thinking. Suddenly, the whole world is a lot easier to understand. It's my own opinion that this book is a tiny bit mishelfed - and should perhaps be considered nonfiction. But beyond that, I'll just say that if there is a book ANYWHERE that deserves to outsell the Bible, it's this one. I mean that with all my heart and hope anyone who hasn't read this will give it a chance.
