Summary: Eye opener.
Review: I have to agree with the other 'reader from the US' because I also believe that you have to be 'ready' to read this book. Before I read it I was becoming aware of the many really wierd coincidences that had been occuring. I found the book lying on a shelf at my house and decided to read it. I felt like Redfeild was taking my thoughts and writing them down into the book. It was very wierd. I would put the book down and come back to it later and continue reading and before long, I had read exactly what I had been thinking not long ago. This is an excellent book and it made me wonder even more about life in general.

recommend this book to anyone with an open mind.

Summary: A Must Read for Everyone!!!!
Review: This is most definetly a book every human on earth should read. A brilliant and inspiring story written as a parable to the work of James Redfield and many others. In this book, he helps people understand new concepts in quantum physics, philosophy, psycology and mysticism without all the scientific terminology. Although this is a fictional story the concepts within are very real. Mystics from many cultures over many centuries have mastered the abilities presented in the nine Celestine Insights. You must read this book with an open mind. If you do, it just might make you see things alot more clearly. We are now starting a period in our evolution when we will finally figure out the reason for our existence on this plant. James Redfield just might have figured out the answers. Read it and see for youself.

Summary: Will open your eyes!
Review: This simply, yet profound allegory can yield tremendous "insight" into your inner life. Much of our negative experiences in life we blame on outside issues, we project.

But Redfield illustrates so beautifully that each of us is on our path, a path that is unique and specific to each individual. When we mindfully approach our life and circumstances, they both take on a deeper meaning, a meaning that leads us to ever higher paths of self-awareness.

As the old saying goes, "He (or she) that does not look within, goes without."

Summary: spiritual enlightenment
Review: This book was fabulous! It is obvious that some other readers were more concerned with dotted i's and crossed t's instead of the important spiritual message behind the book. I cannot believe that the most important aspect some readers walked away with after reading this book was how to critique the writing style! This book was meant to open the readers eyes to spiritual enlightenment. Instead most seemed to focus on the fact the book was fiction or other such nonsense. There is a bigger picture here to look at other than such mundane details as those. I would highly recommned this book to those seeking a book with a more spiritual message....definitely worth reading!

Summary: James Redfield gave a good effort but misssed a key element
Review: The goal of a novelist is to bring the reader into another diminsion where adventure can be found. James Redfield does his job here with grace and style. Where I find he misses the point of departure is in the essence of the nature of mankind; individuals in pursuit of truth find that without meaning and purpose their journey is merely in vain. The goal of finding out what the manuscripts revealed represented the drive of evolution of man, but miss the deeper quest of the sojourner- to understand the truth of life. To follow the guidelines set by the 9 Insights sends one back to the womb instead of evolving into maturation. If the 9th insight makes one transparent how can one connect with other human beings? Isn't that where one finds love? An embyronic state is not a level of consciousness I'm comfortable with, maturation is achieved only when one is brave enough to confront the complexities of the Universe. Here the traveler will find that the combination of both good/evil, pain/comfort, birth/ressurection can transend oneself to a level of truth and harmony and yes, God.

Summary: Why are the American ratings so different to the UK's?
Review: Having first read this book only 6 months a go, I found that I had already for the most learnt what this book spoke about. After one day waking up to look at the world with different eyes I spent the next 12 years of my life doing some serious soul searching. Turns out I wasnt the only one, and believe me, what I have learnt, you wouldnt believe until you think in this way. There is much more to us and the Universe than you can even begin to realise. But what has really surprised me is the amount of reviews in America that puts down this book. Check out the reviews in the UK, something tells me that we are not on the same wavelength!!!

Summary: a masterpiece-of comedy
Review: I've come across some funny stuff in my day and this book is right up there with the funniest."A book that comes along once in a lifetime"?!You got that right!I think Redfield is a hard core cynic and in this book uses a litany of new age claptrap in a most splendid display of perverse, subversive humor against the idiots who are reading the book in all seriousness.I rather think Redfield is not the only writer of the new age school who is making money hand over fist at the expense of gullible and spiritually vapid airheads who can take such an obvious farce of a book seriously in the first place.A comedy masterpiece.Read it for the belly laughs as Redfield UNVEILS mysterious secrets(yea right). This book should've been titled "The Philistine Prophecy".But seriously folks,I laughed till i cried. If you can find this book for under 5 bucks go ahead and get it-and laugh you head off.

Summary: The Spiritual Synopsis
Review: The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield has been one of the best books I've read in a long time. It was captivating and breath-taking from start to finish. Redfield has done an outstanding job creating a spiritual novel incorporating his knowledge of Zen and Taoism. This was not your ordinary fiction novel however. It was an adventure that brought you to the outer limits of enlightening your mind and spirit! The main philosophy of a spiritual culture changing Earth forever made for an enticing story line leaving you on the edge of your spiritual conscience. This book is not meant for the poor in spiritual imagination, but recommended for anyone who seeks adventure. Go to your nearest bookstore or library, open this book as well as your mind to explore The Celestine Prophecy: An Adventure.

Summary: The Prophecies that are closer to fantasies
Review: In this book, we follow a man who leaves his normal life to go to Peru and explore this secret manuscript an old friend tells him about. When he arrives in Peru, he meets and befriends a new person everyday that teaches him the next insight he is trying to learn. His travels lead him through the jungles of Peru fighting Peruvian government officials who are trying to discard this manuscript and all of it's copies before anybody reads them. Even though most of the prophecies are factual in some sense, the story line is closer to fantasy than fiction. 95% of the circumstances are improbable, irrational and almost impossible. The main character is so simply described that you're unsure of even his sex through most of the book. The rest of the characters aren't giving any attributing attributes or characteristics to separate them from the others. The most dreading part of the book is the large amount of examples he has the characters give for each insight, reading the dictionary at some points seems like it would be less dry. If you are interested in reading a nice little fantasy story about strange prophecies and dry characters this is for you. However, if your looking for something a little bit more interesting, I suggest you move on to the next book.
