Summary: Exceptional suspense....
Review: Very worthy reading for those that love suspense, and the legal field. Patterson keeps you wondering throughout, and in the end may very well surprise you!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A page-turner that you know will have a twist...
Review: I never suspected that outcome ... I had my eye on another character.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: suberb book
Review: The book is so good just like others because whenever I read his books, I can not out them down. I must finish it in one day! I also, wanted to know if this author is related to James Patterson or is it one of his psuedo names? I will look forward the response.

Summary: Can't-put-it-down reading material...Total surprise ending
Review: I got this book for something to read on the plane when I went to Jamica. I ended up reading it whenever I got the chance. Patterson does a wonderful job describing the characters and working with the flashbacks. Tony Lord is an amazing character with a past that haunts him until he solves this case. Once you think you know who did it, you're wrong and the suspense makes it even harder to put the book down.

Summary: None too subtle, but...
Review: highly exciting. Goes about what it intends to do: create a breathless, suspenseful, impossible-to-put-down story. This isn't for you if you are looking for complicated characterizations or emotions. Patterson always draws things with a very broad brush. Great summertime reading. Also, the ending works very well and the solution is satisfying.

Summary: A Tony Lord prequel/ sequel
Review: Those of us who are used to Patterson are also used to his yesterday/ today plot jumps. In this one, he takes "Private Screening's" legal eagle Tony Lord back and forth through his teen years as a young jock, his friendship with a teammate and his own trial for the murder of his girlfriend--and as a middle-aged attorney defending that same buddy (who's now a teacher and coach) for the murder of his underage lover. A case which reveals a stunning connection to Tony's own case years earlier. Friendship to the point of love isn't just a characteristic of athletes, either--friend Sam's macho insensitivity drives his girlfriend Sue into Tony's arms, but she can't bring herself to just dump him. As an adult, she remains at his side--she's the one who calls Tony for help. It's a strange paradox of youth--some adolescents never do grow up, but contrary to how we adults scoff at teens and their emotional immaturity, sometimes young love can be forever.

Summary: I was fascinated with the story and loved the structure
Review: This was my first book by this author. I was fascinated from the first and couldn't put it down but was sickened by the details. Maybe I'm a baby but I was sort of angry at how gross it got. But, I guess that's a compliment to the author by making a story interesting enough to be able to get past it. I could NOT relate to Sue staying with such a jerk and felt that Tony's heart was not with one person--maybe that's more realistic. I LOVE flash backs--they make the story fascinating.

Summary: Captivating...one of my all-time favorite legal thrillers!
Review: I simply could not put this book down! The characters are well developed and the story holds you from beginning to end. R.N.P. has captured the very essence of "small town life" and creates one of the most engrossing stories I have ever read. I have read almost all of the legal authors and this by far has been one of the best. Pick it up... you will not be sorry.

Summary: Half way thru, and I love it!
Review: I'm only half way through with this book, and I love it!! I confess i had to skip to the last few chapters, just to see "whodunnit"...this book is rich in characterization. Despite other reviews of this book, I felt for the characters...The only problem I have with this book is that I feel like Tony's heart belongs in too many places..i.e. Sue, Alison, Stacey...otherwise, it's a great read.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Well written story
Review: This is the third book I've read by Patterson. The other two were: "Degree of Guilt" and "The Final Judgment". The characters were well developed and it had a great deal of suspense. At times it was slower than I'd like, but I never lost interest.
