Summary: Pure Entertainment
Review: I have read approx. 5 of RNP's books to date and I think I enjoyed this one the most. The thing that stands out to me about this story is that it grips your attention right in the first few pages. If a book can do that, then it will generally be a fast read. RNP's writing style is excellent! Not only can he tell an interesting story but his descriptive writing style is paramount to others who are leaders in their field. Great novel. I looked forward to getting back to it when I wasn't reading. That's all you can really ask for from a book.

Summary: Pretty good but it drags...
Review: This book is a good mystery book but man does it drag through the middle! The ending was a bit of a let down too but overall was good reading.

Summary: Very Well Written book
Review: This was the first RNP book i was able to enjoy. i bought it because i thought the cover was neat. when i read it, i was amazed by the book. it was easily the best book i have ever read and i still read it often. reading this book caused me to read all of the other RNP books and now he is my favorite author. the book is suspenseful to the end and takes surprising twists all the way through. this book was a good buy and i am very glad that i was fortunate enough to read it.

Summary: Eerie return to Lake Erie
Review: Indeed, this is a page turner that evokes a very strong sense of place. Lake City, Ohio is surely a psuedonym for Bay Village, Ohio with local places clearly identified either by actual name or physical description. I remember this town and once knew it very well. I've stumbled over only a couple of oddities in place and time, i.e. referring to someone wearing stockings in 1968 when pantyhose or tights had completely replaced stockings in the early 60's. This is my first reading of this author and I will definitely read more.

Summary: Good, but not great
Review: Have not read a lot of fiction lately so this was a good book to be re-introduced to fantasy land. Enjoyed the suspense and whodunnit twists, but would have loved the real murderer to come from left field - Sue Cash would have made a good murderer! Will definately try another RNP book as a result of reading this one.

Summary: Very slow. Not as good as some reviews would make us believe
Review: This is my first RNP book, and I can't say that I liked it much. The pace is too slow and the story drags on for about halfway through the book. There are some repetitions of some points and stuff. The other half was almost okay, and the ending isn't all that bad, but if you like fast paced stories and some good detective stuff and all that, this one's not for you. You could find better ways to spend your money. On the other hand, if you want to think deeply about human relations and friendship all that soul stuff, maybe you'd want to read this. There's some stuff in this that I find somewhat disturbing. This one's not about crime and detection (although that is a part of it), but about the lives of two men.

Summary: Decent, but not exceptional
Review: This book was ok, much better than some of pattersons other books-No Safe Place in paricular-but got bogged down with courtroom scenes and led to a VERY predictible ending, you could figure it out by reading the book jacket.

Summary: silent witness
Review: reading 500 pages of this book was a waste of time, just go to the last two chapters and get it over with.

Summary: Very good read
Review: After being very disappointed with 2 books by James Patterson my husband and I discovered Richard North Patterson (obviously close by on the library shelf) - what a difference. We thoroughly enjoyed this and Degree of Guilt. We both couldn't put them down. Highly recommended. This is the kind of book you want to read on a rainy day when you can just sit and loose yourself in a book.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good page turner but not for the queasy
Review: Patterson continues his string of good page turners. Good airplane reading. However, I found certain criminal sexual acts a little alarming and unsettling to envision, but no different than many other suspense novels on the market today.
