Summary: Page turner
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I think this book would be a dynamite movie. The mystery and intrigue was awsome. What made it really enjoyable was the fact you did not know who the bad guy was.

Summary: Take a guess who's the bad guy..
Review: This book was incredible..the way he describe Tony Lord, his feelings, the relationship he build with his best friend, and how they're driven apart..it's totally amazing. A real page-turner. I couldn't put the book down. The end was FANTASTIC.. I didn't expect the end. I'm a total Richard North Patterson fan.

Summary: More then the average mystery
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author carefully crafted two mysteries into one, and intertwined it with a great series of character analyses. The three main characters were so meticulously developed, as were the peripheral characters, and so much care was put into their descriptions, that their believability was beyond question. The mysteries were not so bizarre as to be either unbelievable or difficult to accept -- indeed, the ending, where the murderer is revealed would not likely surprise many. Nonetheless, it was done with a deft touch.

The book is a long, and sometimes difficult read, because you have to remember a lot of the character details and pay attention to the paths down which the author leads the characters. Nonetheless, if you are not in a hurry to finish and you want to kick back and enjoy reading at the pace the book commands, you will be extremely happy.

Summary: cheap hollywood script... save it for the movies
Review: Sorry guys, but this is pure Hollywood. Put your 7 bucks towards the movie and save yourself a long, agonizing read, that is, unless you like those formula plots. I'm writing this because I finished the book today and I felt violated that I had to invest so much of my time struggling through to the end. The characters have no scruples, so why should we care? The whole problem is solved with a handgun suicide... which is the cheapest copout around. The editing was horrid - please make the book 200 pages shorter if you must. Worst book I've read this year. Summary: A good read, but not a perfect one
Review: I actually grew up in the real life Lake City which is known as Bay Village. Yup, the two churches there really exist and there is a park along Lake Erie. The attitudes of the inhabitants of Lake City generally resemble those of the people of Bay, only more extreme. The Slavic angle in the book was also surprisingly true to life. The court room scenes were gripping. One complaint is that the book got really creepy and icky when it come to the crime in question and what Sam did to the girl. I also liked the way the relationship between Sam and Tony was shown. There are many paths in life and we are the sum of those choices as shown what each made of what life have given them.

Summary: Engaging, could not put this book down
Review: Richard North Patterson writes a wonderfully intriguing story. I found myself unable to put this book down from the very start. The story was well developed as were the characters which kept you engaged from beginning to end. A definite must read.

Summary: Cant Put it Down
Review: How many times you wished you could go back in time? Well Tony, the lawyer in this books, get a chance of a lifetime and you wont be able to put the book down until the end.

Although the end is less interesting the the whole book, this surely was a good 500 pages!

Summary: Great promise but poor ending
Review: Silent Witness starts out with great promise. The storyline is rather original, and Patterson's great writing even makes the reader feel sorry for the character. A fine attempt, but a bad ending ruins it. Still, its worth a read.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Superb!
Review: Richard North Patterson has very quickly become one of my favorite authors. This one kept me guessing until the final few chapters. Patterson has an uncanny way of placing the reader in the context of the story that keeps us coming back for more.
