Summary: Better than watching paint peel...
Review: So, Patricia Cornwell sets a tail in my backyard. Western NC isn't quite as backwoods as she would have you believe, in fact, when I delivered the NY Times, I had more Black Mountain customers than any other. Anyway...nice tale. Everything is bit too tidy, however. I'm a little concerned about her product placements within the tale too.

Summary: loved the audio book
Review: I was going on the road for a six hour round trip and in search of the 2nd installment from Stephen King's Dark Tower series on audio book from my local library. I had just finished Patricia Cornwell's Post Mortem in paper back and was starting to become a fast friend of Dr Kay Scarpetta. So when I couldn't get Stephen King, I tried The Body Farm audio book and .... WOW I was hooked. The narrator's voice was very compelling...the story was riveting...and I found myself driving around the block in my car to finish a chapter. I am now trying to catch up with the other Patricia Cornwell books...and I will list this one at the top of my recommended reading list. For me, who frequents the library so that I won't go broke buying the two to three books I read a week.. I WILL buy this book for my personal collection. Patricia Cornwell has a great style, great details, characters that you will love to read about, and careful details of the people and places in the geographical areas she writes about. I am from Tennessee..and the Southern references ring true to me.

Summary: Suspensful and chilling novel about small town life
Review: My first Cornwell book to read and definately not my last book of her's to read. I couldn't seem to put the book down. She develops her character very well and her story line keeps you guessing at the "who done it" question. The book shows a lot of forensic science information which is very captivating in itself. Well worth the time to read it.

Summary: BODY FARM INSULTING
Review: At one time, I considered myself a big fan of Patricia Cornell, but Body Farm changed my mind. As a North Carolinian, I find Cornell's depiction of Southerners insulting. In Body Farm, she leaves no stereotypes unturned. Cornwell should be ashamed to turn out such tripe. I haven't touched one of her novels since

Summary: Mystery at its best
Review: Bone chilling suspense from cover to cover. Mystery has never been this good before. The author ranks with greats like Agatha Christie , and Sir Arthur Connan Doyle. You never know what's on the next suspense filled page

Summary: The best book I have ever read.
Review: I read this book while I was in my summer vacations in California. I could not stop reading it. The first night I stayed up until 5:00 in the morning and the next day I carried it with me to every place we went. I strongly recommend it. I assure you will have a good time trying to help Dr. Scarpetta find who the assasin is

Summary: Fantastic, can't put down!
Review: This is another great book by my favorite author. This one had me reading way into the night and was very difficult to put down. Patricia Cornwell keeps making Kay Scarpetta better and better

Summary: This book is a formula book with no thought.
Review: Out of respect for Patricia Cornwell's previous books, I forced myself to finish this one. From the beginning it was clear that she was churning this out by rote. Some of the sentences are barely written in engligh--where is her editor? Her grammar checker? My take on Patricia Cornwell is that her first book was brilliant, her second very good, and thus began a descent that has continued well beyond mere mediocrity. Perhaps her newer novels are better--maybe someone can contact me and give me a reason to continue to read her.... Sadly, Patricia Cornwell is a victim of her own success. Novelists like Marcia Muller and Sue Grafton take time off between books, and their body of work continues to get better and better--not only are their books great mysteries, but they are terrific novels. (Another author who continues to hold me in thrall is Lawrence Block, but being a man, perhaps he does not deserve mention here.) However, it has gotten to the point where reading a Patricia Cornwell novel is a waste of my time. What a waste of her enormous talent.

Summary: Not One Of Cornwell's Best Efforts
Review: I must admit that I do like to read novels by Cornwell, but this one just lost me about mid-way through it. I tried to continue to no avail. Maybe the next one will be better

Summary: Captivating and a must read!
Review: I just Recently started reading PC's novels and already I am hooked. With The Body Farm, PC has out done herself. The second book after the introdction of a mad serial killer, kept me captivated and not having many clues as to what would happen in the end. The way that PC furthers the relationship of Dr. Scarpetta and Benton Wesley is amazing and a pleasure to read
