Summary: Could have been 3 stars better.
Review: BUT the writing SUCKED. Its too bad I am so interested in forensic entomology, otherwise I never would have picked up this HORRIBLY written book. I DON'T care about Lucy's lovelife, or any of the other charcters' personal lives. Cromwell could have elaborated more on the the case instead of wasting time developing characters that weren't worth a hoot to begin with. Thanks for your time.

Summary: Best Selling Dime Novel
Review: I'm certain there is a large following for this author but , please, do not count me among the ranks. I read this book about a year after I read From Potter's Field. After reading that book, I swore I would never read Patricia Cornwell again. Unfortunately, my son came home with this from a Middle School Book Fair (can you believe that?!) and I felt I needed to justify the seven dollars spent. Save your seven dollars! From Potter's Field and this book are interconnected. If you insist on reading Cornwael, read this book first. But the end result is the same. Between child killings, a broken police officer, a married man sleeping with his co-worker, and a lesbian chiphead this is nothing more than a salatious transgression into the lives of the sick, depraved and lonely. I suppose we are to admire Cornwell's insight into solving murder's based on forensics, but the death of a 12 year old and the disgusting aftermaths are deplorable acts for which I wonder why one reads this trash. I gave it 2 stars because she does have an easy to read writing style and the storyline drew me like a moth to a flame. This moth will no longer go to the flame.

Summary: A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME
Review: What was the mystery? I had it solved at the beginning of the book. This was the first and will be the last book by Cornwell for me. She took an idea and threw it together knowing it would sell because of her name. I feel ripped off, and should actually ask for my money back. I paid good money for a bunch of trash. My 12 year old can write better than this.

Summary: A murder mystery in the tradition of Silence of the Lambs
Review: I was not too eager to pick up this book because (believe it or not) I had never heard of Patricia Cornwell, and I expected the "Body Farm" to be just another murder mystery for vacation reading. Well, it was, but if that's what you're looking for, this novel is at the top of its class. There is one fault in the novel. Cornwell's feeble attempts to add depth to Kay Scarpetta's character are a little cheesy. So, if you can't stand the thought of a little sappy PMS, this book may not be for you. However, if you can look past that, "The Body Farm" is a very entertaining book. It definitely will not be the last Cornwell novel I read.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A twisted thriller, full of hairpin turns.
Review: The Body Farm, kept me reeling. Here's a novel of twisted minds, and unexpect suprises. It was hard to put down. And, when I did put it down (I finished reading it) I was out the door looking for Kay Scarpettas' next escapade. Lock the doors, Temple Gault is still out there.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Only Okay
Review: Not the greatest of the Scarpetta novels. I did not find Scarpetta to be as interesting as her character has been. I wish there had been a little more about Marino at the end of the book.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: This is my first PC book and now I am addicted.
Review: I am 25 y.o and not a big reader, but, when I find a book that I like I cannot put it down. This was the case with The Body Farm. I was on vacation and I didn't want to do anything else but read this book. That's unheard of for me. I was immediately hooked on Dr. Scarpetta's personality and drive. I loved all of the twists and the unexpected sighting of Temple Gualt. I could not turn the pages fast enough. I am now reading From Potter's Field....I hope it as good as the last.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: a well written book
Review: At first I was feeling very sad, about the little girl. The thing is, this kind of thing happens in real life it's not the kind of reading I like, But Patricia Cornwell turn it around for me the longer I readed it. Bad peope do get whats coming to them!!! yea!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Very cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I,am 11 and my grandma showed me these books when i was 10 andi've read all of them I think this is the best one since"postmortom". Carrie is bieng mean to lucy it is not fair. I think that kay should slap her rottin sister. If mrs. cornwell reads this you should have benton divorce connie and have him marry kay. (you got to read this book people)

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Another Cornwell can't put down quick read
Review: Cornwell is consistently fast and furious, and Body Farm is no exception. She skillfully combines horrible crime scenarios with contemporary problems so numerous that anyone who doesn't see something of him/herself in her work should check him/herself into the Body Farm right now! Cornwell has created characters, such as niece Lucy and colleague Marino, who have faults yet draw the sympathy of the reader. The particular value of Body Farm is that it shows that we must suspend belief when contemplating the most unspeakable crimes- there are obvious parallels to the Jon Benet Ramsey case. And she opens the door to sequels by leaving Marino in a state of barely-alive dissolution, as the psychopath Gault roams free, and we cheer for the loveable Lucy to press on in a world of rejecting mothers, slice-em-up-while-they're-cold aunts, and pseudo-lesbian maybe-lovers. Oh yeah, there's a lot of FBI stuff, too.
