Rating: Summary: Caring, sensitive, and encouraging... Review: I decided to read this book before giving it to my parents. My mother is presently facing breast cancer and both Mom and Dad are having some problems dealing with this new twist in their lives. After reading "When God Doesn't Make Sense" for myself, I think it is just the book to give them. Sometimes, even the oldest Christian asks what Dobson refers to as "the awesome why." We don't understand our painful circumstances. "Where is God?," we think. He may seem far away. "When God Doesn't Make Sense" offers hope to those who are hurting. Dobson is sensitive, caring, and encouraging. God has not abandoned you. He is still ever-near. I strongly recommend this book for anyone who finds themself in the midst of a storm and really for everyone. For one day, if not today, we will find ourselves in one. This book will ease the suffering of the hurt and prepare others for trials of life. I urge you to get a copy for yourself and maybe one for someone else you know. God makes sense, even when He doesn't make sense!
Rating: Summary: A great resource for anyone struggling with God & life. Review: Although I'm not a huge Dobson fan, I think that he really accomplishes a lot with this book. It is very readable and is extremely helpful in getting one to realize that although God doesn't "make sense" all of the time, we are still able to trust him and rely on him as a totally loving & caring God. One significant point that Dobson makes is that it is unrealistic for us to expect God to answer all of our prayers and make life easy for us. If God answered all Christian's prayers immediately, we Christians would never die, get sick, lose jobs, have cars break down, etc.! Everybody would want to become a Christian just for the benefits! God isn't a sugar daddy who caters to our desires - he is a sovereign God who ALLOWS things to happen to us, usually for our own development & growth

Rating: Summary: Inspiration for those facing life's difficulties/tragedies. Review: I found this book to be inspiring in allowing us to see that God does not turn His back on us in times of trouble. Dr. Dobson answers the questions about why bad things happen and how we can reconcile these events with our view of God as our loving and concerned Father.
Rating: Summary: Psalm 34:18 is the guiding teaching for this book. Review: I have read this book after being laid off by my employer of 10 years. This tragedy was put into persective by others and how they personally delt with tragedy in each of their lives
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: I love it when some atheist moron gives a bad review to a great book. It just exposes their ignorance and contempt for truth. If you have blood pumping through your veins, you'll enjoy this book. Enough said.
Rating: Summary: A great book. It can bring renewal in your life. Review: I read the book. I have a life long devastating disease and now 4 year old triplets. If it wasn't for the triplets, I would have welcomed an early death. Dr. Dobson has opened my eyes enough to come much closer to being in a state of contentment no matter what the situation.
