Review: If you are still getting your biased news from Dan, Peter or Tom then you need to read this book. It will open your mind & explain that bias is so ingrained in TV news delivery that the talking heads can't even see it for themselves.If after reading this book you still prefer Dan, Peter or Tom at least you will know you are being spun. Read the book, it is great.

Review: Finally, someone from the inside tells the truth. Everything you ever suspected about the big three is true. Sure, Bernard has a "tad" bit of bitterness in his tone and his style, but who can blame him after the treatment he received from CBS and his ole "buddy" Dan Rather. On the big issues in our daily lives, (politics, feminism, abortion, taxes, etc) the big three (CBS, ABC, and NBC)have always taken the liberal-left approach, and now Bernard tells you how and why. A great read. Thank you.

Review: Fantastic book that I could not put down. Finally an insider that is willing to tell the truth. Someone who is willing to stand up for what they believe in is a true hero in my eyes. Thank you Mr. Goldberg and we all hope that the professional sacrifice you made will not be in vain.

Summary: Shocker
Review: Goldman is pro-choice, a lifelong Democrat, and 30 year veteran of CBS news, where he won 7 (that's SEVEN) Emmys. His goal is not to criticize Liberal politics or values, whihc he largely shares, but to criticize the overwhelming liberal bias in the mainstream media. The quotes and anecdotes ill blow you away. An editorial on in the LA Times states that whenever the reporter hears Trent Lott speak she is reminded of lynchings, etc. etc. Reda about the arrogance of Rather (*The Dan*!). Unbelievable. A must read for people who care about our culture.

Summary: 11th hour conversion
Review: It's fun reading about Bernard Goldberg's 11th hour conversion as he discovers what people in the American heartland have known for decades. It's the fact that much of the TV news media has a pronounced, but perhaps natural, left wing political bias.
The book contains some of the best comic writing I've read in years. I especially enjoyed the chapter that explains how Bill Clinton cured homelessness in America. Comparing CBS to the TV Soprano mafia family was also very entertaining (yet chilling.) Goldberg masterfully examines some of the most skillful mass media snake-oil salesmen of our time.

Summary: An Insider Confirms An Outsider's Uninformed Opinion
Review: Bernard Goldberg is not petty, but he refuses to be politically correct. He is also a liberal, so you can expect him to be unaware of his use of some of the liberal's sterotypical views. But Bernard Goldberg is fiercely honest, ethical, intelligent, strong-minded, and kind. Those personal characteristics let him learn much from his 28 years of reporting experience. He went, he saw, he understood, almost. He failed to understand, for too long, that some of his colleagues did not share his high standards. He kept trying to help CBS News to change from within. He never saw that his efforts were doomed to fail. When he tried to force a dialog by publishing his views in the Wall Street Journal, naively thinking he could get the ball rolling, his CBS world imploded. If you want to understand how the main-stream media filters your news, as seen from a liberal point of view, read BIAS because Bernard Goldberg knows.

Summary: Typical right wing rhetoric...
Review: They say that the pendulum always swings as far to the right as it does to the left. After 8 years of peace and a booming economy, alas, we are now again under "right wing rule". How quickly the American public forgets the prosperity enjoyed over the last few years and this short-sightedness is reflected in this pro right book. It is nothing but finger pointing, blame placing nonsense that should be saved for the school playground. Save your money on this book and deposit it into your savings account. You will need the money much more than Mr. Goldberg when the next Republican inflicted recession hits.

Summary: How about some cheese with this whine?
Review: This book is awful. Glad I didn't buy it. Do yourself a favor and get it from the library if you really want to read it. But really, don't waste your time. All this guy does is cater to the Conservative Right and writes about his "mistreatment" at CBS. Sounds like a disgruntled employee to me.

Summary: Goldberg Exposes Profound Arrogance of Network "Journalists"
Review: A great read! With with wit and spirit, Bernard Goldberg provides a national service by chronicling and exposing the profound arrogance of certain TV network "journalists". As Goldberg points out: "Too much of big-time TV journalism has become a showcase for smart-ass reporters with attitudes..." It is fascinating to learn that these aggressive, fact-finding correspondents sing a different tune when the light is shined in their direction. Seemingly incapable of self examination, CBS TV resorted instead to a smear campaign to deflect criticism of its objectivity. The public and many TV personalities praise Goldberg's courageous contribution to real journalism. After devouring this book, you'll never watch Dan Rather's unctious utterings again without knowing what kind of man is really behind that folksy manner.

Summary: Bernard Goldberg--"I distort, you take my side"
Review: I've flipped through this book at the store, and heard the author this morning on a radio talk show here in Seattle, so I know the gyst of what he's trying to say. Aside from this, it's nothing I haven't heard ad nauseum from many right-wing parrots over the years. The "liberal media bias" myth is (and always has been) logic at its most convoluted. If it existed, Goldberg wouldn't need to defend this assertion by stretching the rules to define it. For example, any reasonable person brings up right-wing talk radio in discussions about political media bias. Yet Goldberg downplays its influence as a media outlet despite its meteoric rise in the past decade! He also dismisses as "the media going after its own for profit" nearly 10 years of reporting every unsubstantiated, salacious rumor about President Clinton. He offers September 11th as a reason why the media is "currently" slanting to the right, as if there were no rightward slant before then. Where were his concerns of bias when the media was busy pandering to the Bush campaign, taking Al Gore's words out of context to paint him as a liar? Where was his outrage when the media ignored thousands of protestors at Bush's coronation, yet emphasized "a couple dozen" who protested when Clinton lectured to the staff of an investment firm? Where are his concerns about media doublespeak which TO THIS DAY downplays the truth about the past election to create the illusion of a legal, legitimate presidency? Why should he feel the need make all these (and many more) observational exceptions if the media really IS "liberal"? With Goldberg's brand of reasoning, one could prove that it never rains here in Seattle--if you don't count the frequent drops of water that fall from the sky. Clearly, a point of view that can only be proven with specific caveats and willful omissions such as these is not a point of view that most reasonable, thinking people can accept. When Mr. Goldberg is finished shilling for Fox News-style conservatism maybe he too can realize this.
