Review: The stalker plot was predictable. I was able to predict what would happen next as clues were given away at every turn. What mades the book a hit with me was the devolpment of the relationship between Anthony and Gail. They sizzle and yet they were unable to be honest with one another. This was a great read for a summer day.

Summary: Barbara Parker gets better with each new book
Review: This fourth installment in the legal thrillers featuring attorneys Gail Connor and Anthony Quintana is a compelling read--an intriguing story line involving an-increasingly determined stalker, characters that come alive on each page, and a surprise ending that leaves you waiting for the hoped-for next installment. The author makes Miami and its Anglo and Cuban-American residents come alive, while adding further wrinkles to the complicated relationship between her two protagonists. When you finish this book, if you haven't already read the three others in the series (Suspicion of Innocence, Suspicion of Guilt, and Suspicion of Deceit), do so to quadruple your reading pleasure.

Summary: Better in the beginning, then somewhat tiresome.
Review: This is a 2.5 or 3 star book. At about page 100 I correctly predicted who the villain was. Not many plot twists or original dialogue. After a while the main character's personality becomes immature and belligerent, which makes it a little tiresome toward the end. I did still want to see how it all turned out and finished the book, but I highly recommend books by Sandra Brown (Exclusive, Unspeakable, Envy) much more!!

Summary: It's a page turner, but when will the heroine get smart?
Review: This latest entry in the Gail Connor series is a page turner at the very least, if only to watch the heroine get herself into deeper and deeper difficulties! While loyal readers have been following the love story of Gail and her Cuban fiance with excitement and passion(Ms. Parker does write sex scenes that sizzle), one cannot help but groan each time Gail makes incredibly dumb moves. She is the epitome of gullibility, and it's hard to admire her legal acumen; she seems to be marginally competent and pretty unethical to boot. Her 11 year old daughter's resiliency in the face of more episodes of post traumatic stress than anyone could imagine in a lifetime are beyond belief. The plot is intricate and the twists and turns are somewhat predictable, but the characters are pretty interesting, and one wonders what will happen in the next installment. But it's hard to know who to root for at this point - whether it comes to raising her daughter, taking care of her clients, or her future with men, Gail seems pretty inept. I'm rooting for the daughter, but she better have a great amount of resiliency cause she certainly isn't getting much parenting! The glimpses into Miami/Cuban power and families is fascinating, and the writing is crisp and evocative. She sets the scene, and the characters seem to develop from book to book, except for poor Gail who seems to be regressing. Hopefully, Gail will make some better decisions in the next book - Please?

Review: This was my 1st book by this author, and it won't be my last. I really enjoyed this story, and found myself hurrying to get to the end to find out who the villain was. I found all the "cuban stuff" a little boring at times, but other than that, I thought this book was great!

Review: While the book was well written, the plot was extremely predictable. The first mention of the kitten, I suspected what was going to happen to it and was right. The villian was also easily recognized (not to give plot away, but, sorry, it's just too obvious - the second time she was mentioned, it was blatantly obvious - which ruined the book as there was no more intrigue. Plot would have done better if villian was not mentioned as often as she was - by the final time, even my cat could have figured it out). And total switch of character Anthony was too far - in previous books he was always depicted as straight-shooter-stand-up-type-of-guy - now he's a crooked abuser - just way too far on believable scale).

Summary: Heartache in Miami
Review: Wow what a page turner. After having read all of the previous Suspicions this one left me thirsty for the next one. The ending leaves you feeling empty and incomplete. The murderous plot is exciting but what gives the book it's richness is the relationship between Gail Connor and her sizling lover Anthony Quintana. In this Chapter of their relationship you see the frailty of what has become a tempestuos relationship. Both of them are so overcome by their passion that neither one of them can think straight. I found myself wrought by physical heartache every time Gail and Anthony blundered into another act of betrayal in the name of love. As a cuban american living out west this book left me longing for the sounds of Miami. The descriptions of the exiled Cuban community are right on. A must read especially now during the Elian crisis in Miami. May is too far away to wait for the next installment. Please Barbara but and end to my heartache.

Review: Wow! Barbara Parker does it again ... this time even more exciting than her earlier books, which were superb. Witty and full of intrigue, the book moves with speed and turns that would make a class-four rapids blush. This is a book that is hard to beat!
