Summary: wonderful book
Review: The old man and the sea is a very good book. All of the great detail and discriptive words, although sometimes it does seem to get boring. Well hey, that is probably because I am still young and like to keep things simple. My dad had read the book when he was young to and felt the exact same way I did, but when he read the book as an adult he liked to read and remember every single word. Now I think I would like to share some of my thoughts with you. I really liked the book the way it was excithing after the long intro duction, and the way he told with lots of detail so I was able to understand a whole lot easier. I also did feel sorry for Santiogo when he lost the fish after all of the hard work.the way the boy had to leave before he cought the fish. Well any ways it was a really good book.

Summary: "A Lifes Lesson"
Review: Hemmingway expresses all the feeling and detail of an old fishermans life perfectly. The fisherman is poor but carries on a happy life. And even when the fish almost took his life, he gathered up his courager and strength and succesfully caught thew greastest marlin the town had ever seen! Sadly, his great fish was devoured and destroyed by vicious sharks. In this true classic, I found two life lessons, never give up on your dreams and enjoy victory while it lasts. i enjoyed this book thoroughly and recommend "The Old Man And The Sea" to everyone!

Summary: fabulous
Review: The Old Man And The Sea is a fabulous book. I greatly enjoyed reading it. I liked how the book kept a lot of things mysterious, and then told a little later or didn't tell at all. I also liked how unique this book is. I think this is a magnificent book and I would suggest it to anyone. In most books the human wins over nature, not in this book. The old man is defeated by the sharks. I would be heart broken if I lost a fish that big! Most books also have a happy, cheerful ending, I guess this book is just "different", yet different is sometimes better. The mood of this book goes up and down a lot. The book starts out sad, because the old man has not caught anything in a long time.If you read this book, don,t stop there. It gets a lot better. Do not decide the mood of the book until you are finished with it, and do not judge it until you're finished.

Summary: Very Interesting
Review: ...The book The Old Man and the Sea is one of the best books I've read. The reason is it is an adventure and I LOVE adventures. The adventure part is cool. It is about an old man and his fishing trip. He was out on the ocean for at least 84 days. On the 84th day he caught a marlin. This book is also very descriptive which is sometimes hard to understand. This author likes to make people understand that the person that suffered was very strong.

Summary: A Boring Yet Descriptive Novella
Review: I thought Ernest Hemingway's book The Old Man And The Sea was boring. I think that because he's too descriptive. I mean practically the whole book he describes Santiago's dream of where the yellow, sleek, and mysterious lions walking on the starlit beach after midnight. He also describes gets these huge, aching cramps because of sitting and holding a line on a tan boat put in the middle of the blue and smooth Gulf of Mexico.

Summary: Old Man and the Sea a great novel by Ernest Hemingway
Review: Hemingway's novel is so unique in many different ways here is a reason why.Because he could explain his reason with only 127 pages and it normally takes authors 1,000 pages to explain their reason. I loved his desciptive writing with in every word. This classic is quite exquisite I'm sure people who read it loved it. I couldn't take my hands off it. I hope other who read this book like it much as I did!

Summary: Review about how great the book is.
Review: One of Ernest Hemingway's best novels is The Old Man and the Sea. The book was great! Although sometimes it got kind of confusing because he jumped from one subject to the other. One part that was kind of exciting and confusing was the part when Santiago finally cought the fish and started working on him. One part I thought was scary for the boy was when Santiago fell asleep. Since the boy was crying because of the Santiago's hands, I thought he was crying too because he thought that Santiago was dead since he wouldn't wake up. Well enjoy the rest of the book!

Summary: Word for word the most lyrical American novel ever written
Review: Hemingway projected power into his writing by using simplicity in his language. The words are vivid and true and real. All of one's senses come alive as Hemingway tells the ultimate fishing tale about a simple man in quest of a great marlin off the coast of Cuba. The human spirit is never nobler than in this little book: word for word I have never read an American author whose work is more lyrical. There are times in the life of nearly everyone to encounter an opportunity to realize one's fondest dream -- and what then? What should one do about the risk to the object of the dream and to oneself by so ardently pursuing it? How can one do otherwise? Is life an extended exercise in futility in the pursuit of unattainable dreams? As Tennyson asked, "Why should life all labor be?" Hemingway in this novel advances the notion that in great quests a human can be killed but not defeated. Because in the merits of the quest, one has the opportunity to transcend personal tragedy and defeat. And there are always more dreams to chase and the truth of that reality brings its own comfort and healing to battered souls. The dialogue between Santiago and the boy, and between the old man and the great old fish is utterly magical. Of course, Hemingway knew these waters well as he lived in both Key West and in Cuba and fished for marlin often. This is one of my favorite novels: it is an excellent novel for younger readers and for adults. Be sure that you and your children read this classic American novel: it is supremely wise -- and the writing, word for word, just doesn't get any better than this.
