Rating: Summary: Typical of poor-quality Self-Hypnosis books. Review: This book is poor quality and fundamentally misleading in places. There is nothing of value here which you can't get on the net for free. Just do a search for "Self-Hypnosis Scripts" If I taught my clients how to do self-hypnosis in this way I doubt if they would have much success. All the stuff about Alpha and Beta brainwaves is just an intellectual red-herring and tells you nothing practical about the attitudes of mind which facilitate trance induction. Hunter's style and his techniques are straight out of last century. If you read some of the old books you'll be surprised how little he has added. He provides very basic information and scripts for eye-fixation and progressive relaxation inductions but no real guidelines on how to make them more effective. He does not address the typical obstacles which, e.g., self-hypnosis groups tend to encounter and overcome. He doesn't provide adequate advice for clients who report that they have difficulty physically relaxing, or who feel excessively aware and analytic of the experience. This book provides about half the story of self-hypnosis and its the half which most people know already, or which they could find on the net or in any number of other books on the pop-psychology bookshelf.Don.

Rating: Summary: This is an easy to read and easy to understand book Review: This is a great book that is easy to read and easy to understand. Basic questions about hypnosis are handled well and the book provides a source of information that will assist the reader in achieving his/her goals. If you enjoy this book like I have you will love How To Hypnotize Yourself Without Losing Your Mind, by Wayne Perkins. Roy Hunter does a great job once again! TQP
Rating: Summary: Outstanding Self Hypnosis Book Review: This oversized book is a must for you to reach your goals, improve your health, and enhance performance. Rare is it the self hypnosis book you read about worth buying. This one is worth ten times the price. Hunter has done it again. Rating: Summary: Personal from the Author... Review: Truly, in this world of mixed messages, people everywhere are looking for answers...searching for something that will help them become more empowered. Yet in spite of all the quests, greater empowerment begins by learning how we may control our subconscious minds. My professional goal is to help people attain their IDEAL empowerment! This book was written with that goal in mind. The reader learns what the LANGUAGE of the subconscious is, and how to use it! I have great gratitude that others have informed me that MASTER THE POWER OF SELF-HYPNOSIS contributes to personal empowerment in an effective manner. It is my own belief that you will find this book to be well worth your investment in time and money. In April of 2000, my work was acknowledged officially, as I was inducted into the International Hypnosis Hall of Fame for my work as "Author" in the hypnotherapy profession. Amidst a standing ovation, a former representative of the United States Congress publicly recognized my work. ... It is my sincere wish that you, the reader, find this book as valuable as others have. Best wishes, Roy Hunter
