Rating: Summary: The Princess Diaries Review: The Princess Diaries is a very good book. The main character is fourteen-year-old Mia Thermopolis, who has many problems. A few of these problems are: Her mother is dating her Algebra teacher; She is failing Algebra and has to stay after school every day for tutoring sessions; She is five foot nine (the tallest girl in her grade), with "no visible breasts, yield-sign shaped hair, and feet that look like skis"; And her cat, Fat Louie, keeps eating socks. And to top this all off, now her father tells her that she is the heir to the throne of a small European principality (Genovia), and now she has to take princess lessons with her scary grandmother (Grandmere) and she also has to go everywhere with a bodyguard (Lars). Mia doesn't want to be a princess - all she wants to do is join Greenpeace and save the whales! (And be Josh Richter's girlfriend, but that's another story.) This book was very good. It was written in diary form. A lot of the things that happen to Mia (other than finding out she is a princess I mean) are very easy to relate to since they happen to a lot of people. I would reccomend this book to everyone, but mostly to teenage girls.
Rating: Summary: My Review Review: This was a great book. If you saw the movie and think the book is gonna be like it you are wrong. The movie was ok but the book is GREAT. They are very different and the book is much much better.
Rating: Summary: Cute, but a bit of a let down after the movie Review: I ran out and bought this book as soon as I saw the movie. I loved the movie, but only liked the book. It was one of the few times in my life where I would have to say that the movie was better. But at the same point, I have gone on to read the other books in the series, but only after they are in paperback. It's a very short read (took me only a night), entertaining, yet predictable, but still very cute. If you really liked the movie, you will find the book to be nice, but just don't set your hopes too high.
Rating: Summary: Introducing Teen Reader's Newest Star: Mia Thermopolis! Review: This is the book that started the Princess Diaries Series. It's all about a teen girl, Mia, who is 5'9", flat chested, and is flunking Algebra, which is being taught by Mr.G, her mom's new boyfriend. As if life couldn't get any worse, her dad tells her that her grandmother, who is the queen of Genovia, a little country near France, is coming to visit. Why? Because, technically Amelia Renaldo Thermopollis is the next heir to the Genovian throne! Read this book before seeing the movie because it is WAY better. Read this book, that's an ORDER! :D
Rating: Summary: Aesome book! Review: I was expecting this to be some hokey romantic/frilly story about as girl who's dreams come true...instead is was a humorous story of a teenager who had no wish to be a princess at all. Mia is spunky, bright, and laugh out loud funny. You can't help but smile when reading this book. defintely one of the best books I've read in a long time.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: I completely enjoyed this book. It was interesting, funny, and sweet. I found the people in Mia's life fascinating (her sidecar-obsessed, "evil" grandmere, her artist mother, her genius best friend who is afraid of no one, and the many others). And Mia herself is the quintessential teenager-she worries about her looks, can be completely dense to everything that's going on around her, and has a crush on the hottest guy in school-while being at the same time a loveable, morally conscious animal rights advocate, cat lover, writer, and all around good friend. While it isn't the deepest book I have ever read, it is certainly entertaining. I recommend this to any girl or woman who has ever been 14.
Rating: Summary: a great book! Review: this book is more than great...its fabulous! it makes you feel like your right there with mia and going through all the things she goes through in the book. i wanted to laugh at all the things she complains about and does! even though shes a princess, mia is a normal teenager and is just trying to get through high school in one piece!
Rating: Summary: 3 Cheers for Meg Cabot! Review: Meg Cabot is a wonderful author and knows what she is doing. This book is about a young girl in high school who's grandmother makes a surprise visit. This girl's name is Mia, and her grandmother's name is Queen Clarice. She tells Mia she is a princess. Through the book, Mia and Queen Clarice plan out her future.................
Rating: Summary: great Review: Though we may not all be princesses we all go through the same exact thing Mia does! This is a very easy book to read and very funny and so true to teenagers! Im excited about reading the next books in the series!!
Rating: Summary: *One of the Best Books I've Ever Read!!~ Review: Mia Thermopolis was nothing untill she found out she was a princess. That is Princess of a whole country. It may be a small country but thats still a whole country. Her mom also starts going out with her teacher. Nothing could be worse for Princess Mia. Her grandmother is nothing but a witch who thinks Mia should act like a princess. Then a bunch of reporters start taking pictures of the princess. Not only that but she has a big crush on the most popular guy in school. He is tall dark and hansom. He asks her to the dance. Of course Mia says yes. When the reporters show up her crush ends up kissing Mia infront of everyone and Mia is hummiliated. She has never kissed anyone. Really the only reason her crush asked her out was to get some publicity. How will she deal with it all being a tall flat chested unpopular girl in the 9th grade who is failing algebra.
