Summary: Funny and original.
Review: By most standards, Mia Thermopolis would be considered an ordinary New York City teenager. She goes to school, is flunking math, worries about her single mom's new boyfriend (who just happens to be her math teacher!), and has fun with her friends. The not-so-ordinary part is spending summers in France with her super-rich politician dad, who her mom was never married to, and her annoyingly proper grandmother. But at age fourteen, Mia gets the shock of her life: her father is the prince of a small European principality, and a disease has left him unable to have any more kids. Which means that Mia's going to be stuck being Princess Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo, heir to the throne of Genovia. But Mia's not ready to take princess leasons from her grandmother and contend with the media and her overnight fame - in fact, she's not sure she wants to be a princess at all! This story was told through the form of Mia's diary and was very funny, and also very original.

Summary: Teenage Angst at it's Best
Review: Not since Judy Blume has a writer so skillfully navigated the mind of a teenage girl. The Princess Diaries tells, through her own words, the story of a typical high school freshman's discovery that she is the princess of a small European principality (a-la Monaco). Mia is a typically gawky 15 year-old with all the problems that come with this age---flat chest, feet too big, bad hair, cute boy doesn't khow she is alive, etc. etc. Meg Cabot does a phenomenal job of making this everyday teenage angst funny, exciting, scary, and exhilarating. As a male reader, Cabot allowed me inside the mind of this difficult teenage phase. Any girl in junior high or high school will love this book, and any guy willing to get past the pink cover will love it too!

Summary: This book is a gem
Review: I have all the princess diary books! They are great! Mia has to deal with stuff everyone goes through like: being picked on by the cheer leaders, having no breasts a parents divorce and being pushed to hard. At first when I saw this book I doubted I would like it, I thought it might be a book about a perfect princess who I can not relate to in the least. But when I read a few pages I knew it was worth the money!

Summary: Pauper to Princess?
Review: At first glance, The Princess Diaries seemed like a juvenile book. But, you should never judge a book by its cover, and The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot is no exception. It is about an ordinary girl named Mia Thermopolis, with ordinary problems like an F in Algebra and her artist mother DATING her Algebra teacher and no social life, with a very extraordinary feature. She is the princess and sole heir to the throne of Genovia, a small (but not real) country in Europe. She must deal with the reactions of the general public, princess lessons from an evil grandmother, her friend Lilly Moscovitz, and most importantly, Josh Richter, a hot senior that Mia has a crush on, who seems to be a bit of a publicity junkie.

The Princess Diaries is an excellent book for anyone who enjoys teen comedy, and could easily fit in well with anyone who has read the Angus Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging series or Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, which are both noted for their underdog comedies, which are both very popular books and series. Mia will win the heart of any teenage girl who has just wanted to be normal. It is also a part of a series, and each book has its own humor to it, and its own plot twists. There has also been a movie adapted to it, but the book has a greater sense of humor and has more in depth characters, with the movie replacing them with slightly easier points of view.

The characters and settings go into great perspective for being written in a first person diary format, but it still keeps a lighthearted mood with its speech. I had an easy time reading this and it was very uplifting and humorous, which deeply contrasts that of most teen books, which are loaded with naughty bits. Therefore I recommend this book to anyone who wants a light read and do not want to get too serious with a large book, but at the same time have something interesting and original, which is why I give this book a four out of five star rating.

Summary: Oh My God Shut Up!!
Review: This book is the greatest book ever. This book is about a normal teenage gilr with normal teenage girl problems like about GETTING A BOYFRIEND. This girl is called Mia Thermopolis (also know as Amiala Grimaldi Thermopolis princess of Genovia. I don't know all the name its way too long.). You just have to read what mia's son of a bitch grandma (or grandmere thatslut bag hoare makes her calls her) tells Mia that that she is now princess of Genovia. This suitable for boys too not just you GIRLS.

Summary: Princess goes Mad
Review: This book is about a once normal girl that finds out that her dad is a prince so that would make her the princess. It talks about how she doesn't want to be a princess and how her life is so horrible. All these bad things keep on picking on her and her mom starts going out with someone that she doesn't like. You have to read the book to find out what her decision is.
Likes- I liked how it was in a journal form and how it describes things well.
Dislikes- none, loved it

Review: Mia Thermopolis is an average ninth grader, until she finds out she is the heir to the throne of Genovia. She is a princess now and she has to take princess lessons after school each day so her social life is even more non existent than it was before. She has a huge crush on Josh Richter, the hottest guy in the grade, a jock who is dating her arch enemy Lana Weinberger. Then Mia gets into a fight with her best friend Lilly and her mom starts dating her Algebra teacher whos class she is failing. Will things start going Mia's way and will her fight end? Read this funny book and the rest of the series, you wont regret it!

Summary: princess diaries a fairy tale come true!
Review: Mia is such a realistic character. She's a typical New York freshman from a split up family. She isn't popular, but she has a close group of friends. Her life is going on (not exactly smoothly, but hey), until her dad drops the bomb. She is really the Princess of Genovia, and it is now her duty to fufill her royal obligations. Enter her Grandmere, the dowager princess and psychotic relative. With Rommel, her hairless poodle in tow, Grandmere comes to help make Mia's life even more of a royal pain. Makeovers, paparazzi, princess lessons.....how much can she be expected to take? Add in the fact that her mom is dating her algebra teacher, she is flunking that teacher's class, her best friend is mad at her, she is tormented by the cheerleaders, and she doesn't have a date to the big dance. Mia's life is crazy, and what happens when the hottest guy in school looks her way? This book is hilarious, and an awesome read!

Summary: The intimate diary of a hypomanic teenager
Review: For fifteen-year-old Mia Thermopolis, life doesn't get much worse than high school. She's too tall, too thin, and too flat-chested. She hates algebra; she's fighting with her best friend; and her mother is dating her math teacher! She has a weird haircut and the only boy she likes is intimidated by her intelligence. Then the day comes when her divorced parents sit her down together and tell her that, since her father is the king of Genovia, she's the princess! Now, on top of everything else, she has princess lessons with her prissy grandmother and a slew of popular kids who only wish to befriend her because it's cool to hang out with a princess.

This narrator is Go Ask Alice if Alice's drug of choice were cocaine. Maybe the subtitle should be: Intimate Diary of a Hypomanic Teenager. She makes me tired just listening to her frenetic thoughts! But, then, once I got used to Mia, I found her oddly appealing. It's refreshing to have a teenage heroine with a brain in her head who thinks about more than just boys and makeup and isn't being used as an object lesson on the evils of divorce, drugs, or sex. Her constant awfulizing even becomes funny after awhile. If you can take this book as a cute fairy tale, it says some nice things about adolescents learning to accept themselves and their families for what they are.
