Review: I think this is the funniest book ever! It has some adult stuff but I love it! Mia, who is a freak at her school, finds out she is a princess! She never wants anyone to know about it but can she keep her secret or will somebody spill it? Find out in this GREAT book!

Summary: Funny, Cute, and Well Worth My Money!
Review: "The Princess Diaries" was such a good book! I found myself staying up late at night for hours reading and trying to find out what will happen next!

Mia Thermopolis is not exactly what you would call a beauty queen. She's not so popular and she dosen't really say much. But all of a sudden, her dad tells her that he is the crowned prince of a European Country called Genovia, and Mia will be his heir to the throne when he dies! Mia is a princess!

The idea of being a princess dosen't exactly thrill Mia, but all of a sudden, people who never even said a word to her before, now want to be her best friend. Plus, her picture is on every paper in New York! How is Mia going to be able to handle all of this? Read the book and find out! It's great!

Summary: Hilarious! A must read!
Review: This book is really funny. Mia's sarcastic comments and little lists keep you laughing and laughing. The best part about this book is that Mia has a voice. She is not formal in the way she tells her story, and talks like any teenager would.

Summary: What a teenage Princess should be
Review: Mia Thermopolis is the product of an artist mother in New York and a european politician. Mia is shocked to find out her father is the Prince of Genovia and she is his sole heir, thus making her a Princess. So balancing Princess lessons with her insolent grandmére, the Dowager Princess of Genovia and the average trials and tribulations of being the unpopular turned popular teenage social life.

This is an amusing book. Meg Cabot is great at writing comedic writer throughout this. Mia is fantastic characterization and you feel so much pathos for her, it's almost real. I related to Mia in certain situations and I loved to read all the dialogue. Mia is not the only one with good characterization, her mother, her father, Lilly, Michael, and probably more that I have mentioned. Cabot's vivid and humourous dialogue makes her characters realistic. Mia's lack of a social can be easily related to and this was one of the easiest young adult books to read. The comprehension is simple. If the content of modern day Cinderella doesn't appeal all that much, the writing style will hook you.

I love this book. I can't wait to get my hands on the last two.

Summary: So much more then expected
Review: As a picky reader, I was quite hesitant to read this book. My first thought was "isn't this for little kids?"

That's also what I said about Harry Potter, which is my favortie book. Ever.

But I dismissed the thought and bought the book, read it, and laughed so hard! I could relate to many of the circumstances, well, not about being a *princess*, but this is a book for all teenage girls. It's funny, sad, and perfect for any girl who hates reading. This is a sure way to get your daughter, best friend, or sister to read.

Recently, my uncle passed away, and when my feelings became sad and angry, I read this book. And I laughed. And laughed. And laughed.

My sister kept asking me to leave the room, I was laughing so hard with this book. It kept me up to all hours, and I'm very eager to read the second book.

I beg of you, do *not* pass this book up! It's great, and I'm sure you will love it!

Summary: Rags to riches...
Review: Meet Mia Thermopolis. She's just an average girl. She lives in New York, goes to an average school, and has perfectly normal friends. Of course, this doesn't mean she doesn't have any problems. Her mom is dating her algebra teacher. She's failing algebra and can't seem to bring up her grade for anything. She's one of the least popular girls in her school. Her hair is shaped like a Yield sign. And shecan't get the boy she is totally in love with to even notice her. Don't think things could get worse? Well, they do. She goes to see her father at the Plaza and, after a bout of the hiccups, finds out that she is not just an unpopular geek who can't seem to get a passing grade in Algebra. She's actually an unpopular geeky PRINCESS who can't seem to get a passing grade in Algebra. This is because her father can't have any more children, and she is the heir to the throne. Which adds more problems: trying to keep her friends from knowing, living with the knowledge of being a princess of an entire country, and worst of all, princess lessons with her dreaded grandmere. Will she ever come out of this mess alive?! This book was SO funny! Meg Cabot brings all the characters to life in humor, romance, jealousy, anger....it's no wonder it's going to be a movie! I started the second book the moment I finished this one! This book is the funniest book I've read since "Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging" by Louise Rennison. In fact, it just might be funnier. I can't wait for the third book! All teenagers (and adults too!) need to read this humorous, creative, and even inspirational book.

Summary: Lots of fun :)
Review: I bought this book as a gift for my teenaged sister, but even though I'm a few years older than the recommended age group, I had to read it myself first! The premise alone was enough to catch my eye. Is there an American girl who has not at one time secretly fantasized that she was a princess? I know I did! Princess Amelia of Genovia is, for the most part, a charming and believable heroine. The author slips at least once that I can think of -- she mistakenly defines a "vegan" as a vegetarian who still eats eggs and milk products -- but overall the book was an enjoyable read. I've just ordered the sequel for my sister...but don't think I won't read that too!

Summary: Cute, Fun Read!
Review: I was very excited to read this book because it looked pretty cool. This book was, I think, one of the cutest little reads I have ever read. It was the story of one very kool girl who is not exactly princess material, living in the urban city of Manhatten, NY. Shes got attitude...but not a date for the Cultural Diversity dance, and everyone else does! It seems that her height(5'9)hair("ugly triangular shaped yield sign hair")and all around personality are geek material, according to shallow and insecure snob Lana. That all changes when she becomes royalty and her world is turned upside down! Funny, sweet and interesting, The Princess Diaries is a read that you will want to toss into your beachbag or bring with you wherever you are going for a fresh and souped up escape to the world of Mia Thermopolis(Princess Amelia)!
