On top of all that, her mom is dating her algebra teacher, her grandmere (whom she hates) is giving her princess lessons, AND she still doesn't have a date for the Cultural Diversity dance. Find out how Mia copes with being America's own royal in this book, The Princess Diaries.

Summary: A True Winner!
Review: I was reluctant to read "The Princess Diaries" because I didn't wanted to read more worthwhile things. Luckily, I actually did read it and I can't stop thanking myself! This book is pure brilliance and Meg Cabot's idea is one of the most original ideas I've read in a while. In an age of book journals, this is one journal turned book that is a must-read. The only drawback from this book is that the tone is sort of whiny, and I for the life of me cannot understand why a girl wouldn't want to be a true princess. This book inspired me to try to 'self-actualize' like Lilly Moscovitz encourages Mia to be and also defend myself when I need to. This book is full of hilarity and I encourage anyone of any age to read "The Princess Diaries" and it's sequel, "Princess in the Spotlight".

Summary: Great read!
Review: I loved The Princess Diaries. It is my second favorite book in the world. It was just great to get into the mind of a teenager. Who not only is a freak but a "princess freak". Even though this was a 13-45 year old book, I loved reading it.I can't wait to read the second book The Princess Diaries Two and The Princess Diaries Three :A Princess in love. Read this book you will never be able to put it down.

Summary: A really good book
Review: OKay so I thought this book was really good, just to make that clear incase you didn't tell by the stars. But there was something about how stupid Mia was, I mean she doesn't notice that Lily's brother like's her. Also the fact that she really think the cool guy likes her is just stupid. She assumes that just because she's a princess sudddenly everything's peachy and that everyone will like her which is just not true. Some people just don't like other people because well they don't like them. But I though this book was really good because it talked about real stuff that normal people would freak out about. Like my mom dating my teacher would just be freaky and if I suddenly found out I was a Princess (which I highly doubt)I would totally freak and if my grandmother was like grandmere I would probably do the same things. Over all I thought it was a good book with belivable characters and a good plot.

Summary: Smart Intelligent Read for Teens
Review: Wow what a captivating book. So few books like this are out there for the in- between readers: not children but not adults either.

Meg Cabot has created a wonderfully rich protagonist with Mia; she is bright, witty but still a vulnerable child at heart. The dialogue was rich with angst and humor bringing to life the often horrific time called "the teen years".

The way the book is laid out in diary form made the book seem as if the reader is sneaking a peek at time when all Mia's life seemed to be in turmoil: her father is back with startling news, and the grandmere' from hell has come to rake havoc with Mia's life both in love and friendship. And to top it off her mother is in bothersome love relationship with here Algebra teacher; the very same teacher who is failing Mia, but that is lost on her mother, the flighty artist. Lilly is a nice contrast both as a friend and nemesis. Michael's role in the story is an anchor that many youthful readers will identify with.

Unfortunately, when Hollywood got a hold of the story, it is but a sketch of the original; Californicating the original intent with silly slapstick humor and any true teen angst found in the book is sadly missing in the movie. The movie is for preteens but the book is for teens. If you have a choice read the book and take your little preteen sibling to the movie.

This one will definitely find its way to the middle school library where I work. With so few truly exceptional Young Adult books out there for the 13 to 18 years, THE PRINCESS DIARIES should be in every Middle School and High School library. THIS IS DESTINED TO BE A CLASSIC!!!

Summary: A book you can't put down!
Review: Mia thinks of herself of a 14-year old freak. She's 5'9", flat-chested, wears a size 10 shoe, is flunking algebra, a huge dance is coming up that everyone but her has a date to, and she's crazy about hot senior Josh Richter, who doesn't know she exists. And now her dad is coming to town to tell her something important. When she finds out that the "important" thing is that she's Princess of Genovia! She's horrified and doesn't want to be. But, she can't prevent it, so her grandmother gives her princess lessons, including a huge makeover. She doesn't tell anyone that she's a princess though. But when her grandmother spills to the press, everyone knows, including everyone in her school. Weird things start happening with her freinds, enimies, and boys. But will she be able to get a date in time for the Cultral Diversity Dance? For ages 12 and up

Summary: The Princess Diaries Review
Review: I have to admit when I saw the book in the store I thought it was going to be the typical book where a girl finds out she is a princess...and I was right! Although....this book is so much more than that. It is such a well told story. After reading the book I felt like I knew the main character, Mia Thermopolis, personally. I hope you enjoy reading this book.

Summary: A great book for teens and adults!
Review: I saw the previews for this movie and thought it looked sort-of cute, but I am a much bigger fan of books then movies, so I was pleased to see it was based off of a book. So, I got it and I have to say, it is one of the cuter, lighthearted things I have read in a long time. It is a great book for teens, because it relates a lot to their lives, even when 14-year-old Mia finds out she is a princess. And it is great for the "older" crowd as well, by taking you back and making you remember just how glad we are to be out of those years. The only thing I didn't really care for was a Clueless type quality to the book. Being only 20, I know that most of those things are long over and I hated having to re-hear some of the already over used (and thankfully passed) expressions in this book.
