Summary: A great read!
Review: While the movie did change a lot of the aspects of the book, I still enjoyed both. I think, though, that if I had 2 choose between the two, it would be the book. I can relate to Mia a lot. I really like her funny, realistic reactions to different things ("WHAT??? A PRINCESS??? ME??? Yeah. Right." and "OH MY GOD!!!!!!" several times. :D) I can't wait 2 read the second volume.

Summary: The Princess Diaries is a book fit for a queen!!
Review: The Princess Diaries is a great book for a preteen. The book tells you that being very unpopular is not always the worst.Even if you are a total freak, and failing your algebra class does not mean good things can't happen. As the book progresses, things keep getting a little better for 15 year old Mia Thermopolis. She gets a terrible makeover, goes through dreadful princess lessons, and looses her best and only friend.Mia is special, special in a way that many of us are not.She is a princess.

Summary: I weep for the future
Review: After reading the reviews of this book by my peers, I am more concerned than ever about the mental stagnation of teenagers. I can't believe all these girls are lapping up this tripe. The struggle to change perceptions about body images and individuality is already lost if teens are this undemanding about the kind of crap they read. Books like this are part of the problem when good books can be part of the solution. Wise up, girls. A real princess could spot this rotten pea under the mattress.

Summary: Great book for preteens and early teens
Review: It's really well written, and I really enjoyed it. The only thing that might bother people is the main character is really obsessive.

Summary: The Best Book Ever Wrote
Review: Before reading Meg Cabots Princess Diaries,I had never read a book from front to back,I could just not get into any other book. Reading Princess Diaries brought a smile to my face, and it felt like i was reading my own diary (apart from the princess bit). After reading her first book (which took me really a long time)I couldnt wait to read Take Two and Third Time Lucky. I have not read Third Time Lucky, but Take Two was absolutley brilliant, and it only took me 3 days to read it.I cant wait to read her next book which I hope will be as enjoyable as her others.Meg Cabots Princess Diaries and Take Two were truly the best books ever wrote.

Summary: pretty cool
Review: this is a really good book. i read a few other reviews, evn ones for the second princess diaries book. i'd have to argue with those who say that this book ...[is no good]. yea, meg cabot makes mia look like a total idiot and purely oblivious to her status until she's told right out, but would U REALLY believe u were a princess? evn if u got treated like a princess in france, would u really suspect it? u, an average girl in new york.

another thing in a some reviews are that mia's pretty, but is too stupid to realize it.

i personally think it would totally suck to be a 5'9" giant. 5'6" - 7" is the height i wanna be. being too tall is a perfect reason for the school brat girl, like lana, to make fun of u. being too short in that view is also a way u could get made fun of. so mia has a reason to say she's a giant.

this may be totally stereotypical, but it's still amusing and funny. she took cinderella, changed it, and modernized it. it would be stereotypical to say that this couldn't happen to someone! evryone's trying so hard not to stereotype and not be a racist and stuff that u forget that there are ppl out there who ARE the typical stereotyped 'blonde hair, fair skin, blue-eyed beauty'!

anyway, wat i meant to say before i rambled on was that this was a very good book, if not too original.

Summary: pretty cool
Review: i think it was probably one of the best books i have evr read that was based on a modern teenage girl's plain life.
it's very easy to see that this could be about a real girl, even though i doubt it. it's pretty easy to relate to Mia's problems, besides the one about her being a princess, and it draws u in.

to the person who said that it had no ending. go read philip pullman's 'His Dark Materials' series. He ends it in a sentance like 'Lyra shouted at Pantiliamon[sp?] to come back.' yea, i'm exaggerating, so wat. i read the secodn book like three months ago... the point is, if meg cabot put in a real ending, it would probably not make u want to read the next book more. it'd just be 'yea, i read it, so wat.' but if she leaves the character without all of her problem solved, u'll want to know how she solves the rest and wat happens to her friends etc. etc.

overall, the book was realistic, funny, and just a great book.

Summary: A fun read
Review: Oveall, this was just a fun and quick read. The book was much better than the movie and brings out the main character in a much more detailed way. The diary format helps in understanding what is involved with "growing up".

Summary: This Book is so Great!
Review: This book is the best I have read in a long while. It helps you relate to teen life and life basically. Adults always say the book is not apporaite or interesting for children but looking at a from a 12 year old point of view they are so wrong! This is perfect for 10 year olds and up! I give the book 5 stars because it will keep you from wanting to put down the book for one moment and always laughing. I can't wait to read the next book!
