Rating: Summary: TRIED AND TRUE METHOD FOR FIRMING UP Review: I bought the book in the 80s and then this video when it first came out. All I can say is: IT WORKS, IT WORKS, IT WORKS. I'm happy to see that the price is even more affordable now (though at any price this is truly worth it because it will give you a new body). I urge anyone who wishes to transform their body to give this and all the Callanetics videos a try. I only wish that they will soon be available on DVD.
Rating: Summary: Amazing results Review: I have been introduced to callanetics 10 years ago. I used the book with the same title and I actually did see amazing results. Unfortunately, I was not able to maintain it through the years. It's good that I was able to get hold of this video. Reading the book helps in executing the movements but seeing the video helped me more. This time around, I am making sure that I keep the habit of doing callanetics. I know that in a matter of hours, I will have a firm and tight body.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT WORKOUT! Review: I have used this tape for many years now, and have had excellent results. After having two babies, both C-sections, I needed something that toned and reshaped my body. I would recommend this tape to everyone. You work at your own level until you get strong enough to follow the routine exactly. Absolutely wonderful. Results were showing in 2 weeks time.
Rating: Summary: Callanetics Review: This is a great video!! The pictures you see of the results are true. I've done the program 10 times so far. I noticed results after the 2nd time. The great thing about this program is that your not getting bulky from it, instead it takes off inches. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to get in shape.
Rating: Summary: Toning done right Review: I can only add that previous reviews not only helped me select this video, but also AFTER I purchased it-- I read these reviews and they helped me to understand specific things about this workout. I fully agree with somebody who said--don't focus on your form that much at the beginning-you will figure it out, how body wants and needs to stretch. Watching this video on mute produces better results for me, because I can concentrate better on stretching. There is no doubt about effectiveness of this video--you'll see.
Rating: Summary: Toning done right Review: I bought this video, because of all previous recommendations. I recommend if somebody is interested in this video-you should read all of the reviews- you will find excellent advice--not only reasons for buying, but after you buy this video-- come back and look at educated views of people who posted these reviews. For example now on I watch this video on mute, because talk of instructor makes me self consious if I am making mistakes rather than feeling that intense stretch and meditation of the movement. But everything is excellent about this video and you will love it!!!
Rating: Summary: Callanetics Review: In April of last year, I was wearing size 16 jeans. I had finally had enough and pulled out my Callanetics tape that I had bought several years before but never got around to using. My sister had seen me in April and when she saw me at the end of May she was so shocked at the difference in those 2 months that she stood there counting the weeks on her fingers just to make sure she was thinking straight. By Sept of this past year I had "downsized" to a size 10. I can not recommend this tape highly enough. Like any exercise program, you have to stick with it to see results. But trust me on this: you'll get them. - Yes, the music is boring and yes, there are flashier video productions out there. But are you interested in a lot of glitz or a good body? Do yourself a favor: get Callanetics.
Rating: Summary: Fat like me? Try Callanetics! Review: Ladies, right up front, I'm over 50 pounds overweight. I'm having zero success trying to eat less, etc.; not dropping any pounds. But Callanetics is giving me VISIBLE results!I first tried Callanetics back in the 80's. I didn't really need them then and didn't stick with them. Now that I'm wa-a-ay out of shape, I remembered how gentle these exercises are on the body and decided to try them again. WOW! After just a few workout days, I could see the difference. After about 15 sessions now, I feel much stronger, tighter and overall MUCH better. And there's a visible difference--my husband marvels over it. I STRONGLY recommend Callanetics! It can be a tough workout, but stick with it and it will work for you. About the only one that doesn't seem to do much (yet) is the Lower Back Stretch, and I think it's because I'm too padded to do it effectively. ;) You'll probably have to find something to work out your upper body a bit more, too; I alternate workout days.
Rating: Summary: slow? yes. Powerful? You BET! Review: I used this tape for several months and felt so very strong. I remember the feeling of walking on steel legs. I miss that. Yes, Callan is a bit arrogant. But she isn't a piggy tailed little priss either. This is a very difficult workout. Surprisingly so. I talked some friends into doing it with me. At the end they said "that wasn't so bad." I had warned them in advance that it was tough. Then we walked down the stairs together and they had to stop and take them one at a time holding onto the rails! The next day they were dying! Yes, it gets old like other videos and it would be nice if Callanetics would release a few more than the ones they have, but I think the intent is that you should be able to learn to do the exercises by yourself eventually if you want. But, think of it as kind of a meditation time. For the most part, ignore the tape once you know the sequences. Then, you turn the sound down and just glance up every so often. Think through your day, go over your life goals, or whatever floats your boat. You won't lose weight, but things will certainly shift around...
Rating: Summary: Great for toning up! Review: I really love the toning exercises in this video. I was going on vacation and did the workout for six days in a row and could tell a huge difference. If you listen to the instructions and do the exercises as shown, you should definitely feel the burn. However, I bought this tape for my mother (who is in good shape) and she said she couldn't feel it working at all. If you do the exercises incorrectly (or if you cheat), you won't be able to feel them working. I particularly love the stomach exercises on this tape. Skip all the expensive ab machines and buy this tape instead. If you do them regularly, you'll definitely see a difference.
