Rating: Summary: Inspirational true story of a young boy's survival Review: The Mt. Katahdin region of Maine in the 1930's was a remote, virgin wilderness. Odds of a lost 12 year old boy surviving nine days alone struggling for survival make this story an incredible experience. The simplicity and integrity of this book will stir the emotions of young and old alike.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Review: This book is a "must-read" for any person. Forget about the 9-12 age category. It is easily one of the most moving books I have ever read, and you can't possibly put it down until you reach the harrowing end. I felt so sad for Donn Fendler, and could share every single emotion he must have felt. When reading the story, you couldn't help but want to comfort him in his lonely world. It is a true lesson in keeping Faith and believing in God. May God bless you, Donn Fendler. You will always be one of the world's greatest heros of all time.

Rating: Summary: The 5-star Lost on a Mountain on Maine Review: When a boy loses his dad and his brothers on a hike, he mostly shows what not to do when you're lost on a mountain on Maine. This is a true story that took place on a real mountain. The mountain he gets lost on is snowy, cloudy, and has a lot of wildlife. He has to find food, water, and shelter all on his own. My grandma recommended this book to me and I recommend this book to you. This book is exciting and tells you what it's like being stuck on a mountain in Maine. This book also tells how the boy turned out after he survives.
Rating: Summary: Great story for kids and adults Review: When I was a kid, our school librarian would read this book every year to the second grade class. I remember my classmates and I being spellbound by this story. Every child can identify with being lost and afraid even if they've never been in as dangerous a situation as being alone on a mountain top. I also learned some valuable survival lessons even at that young age. Last year I was hiking with some friends. They wanted to take a shortcut through the woods, but I insisted on staying on the trail. A lesson I learned from this book!
