Summary: Can't Put Them Down!
Review: Janet Evanovich has quickly made her way into my list of favorite authors. In fact she's at the top of the charts! Every book is a hilarious, and thrilling read which gives me chills when I finally finish it four hours later. As an aspiring author myself I finad that Evanovich is my hero, delivering a bundle of lovable and funny characters, right along with the action I adore. Everything about these books seem real and Evanovich steps out of convention with her raunchy dialouge and wonderful style of writing. I recommend this to anyone who can read!

Summary: Cannot get enough of her writing
Review: Janet Evanovich is definitely one of the wittiest authors I have ever read. Her writing is so good that my husband and I fought over who got to read the book first. (We both started reading it at the same time.) I finished it in one day. I cannot get enough of her writing. I hope she writes a thousand more! Leah L Higbe's comments on "One for the Money" is a good review; she sums up everything I wanted to say.

Summary: Great first novel, funny and suspensful
Review: This book made me laugh and scared me at the same time. Grandma Mazur has to be the funniest charcter in this story. The scene where she plays with her grand daughter's gun had me in stiches. I don't think that I have ever laughed that hard at any other scene in a book. The story of Stephanie is great to. I like the way that she is not portrayed as a proffesional in the business of bounty hunting but rather a woman who falls into the proffesion because she needs the money. She makes the mistakes most amatures would make, but she does wind up being the hero, thus becoming a strong heroin. This is a must read for anyone who enjoys their mystery stories with a does of humor. I enjoyed this so much that I intend to read the rest of the books in this series.

Review: ONE FOR THE MONEY is the first in what is now a series of six(looking at seven and eight). Janet Evanovich (I keep mispellingevanovich as evanovich--Sorry) delivers a fast moving mystery drench in comical commentary. This author has a marvelous talent of poking fun at everyday life. I wish she had more books! NOTICE: If you start reading Evanovich, you will find that you need to finish the book away from others. You tend to chuckle. You will be drawn into the mystery of Stephanie Plum, former retailer, fumbling bounty hunter. Keep "them" away from your book until you finish. Trust me. I'm braced to read book six coming out June 20. In the meantime, my sisters are vying for who gets to read this book third. Mom loves the series too. Since I started the series a few month ago, I've given this novel as a gift to a sister in Florida, a friend at work, and my postal carrier. That is why I say, treat yourself to this author. Enjoyment to the Max.

Summary: You Must Start Here With Book #1 of the Six Books!
Review: My sister kept bugging me about reading these Stephanie Plum books. I kept putting it off because I don't like these continuing private eyes, or their clones, which the mystery genre loves so much. Spenser I gave up on years ago, along with its writer, Robert B. Parker, for example! However, my sister kept talking about the humor, especially with the grandmother at the funeral parlor, and a whole assortment of other eccentrics in middle class New Jersey. Then she said the romance was pretty good too and different readers were on different sides of whether Stephanie should pick Joe or Ranger. "And how difficult is each mystery to solve," I asked. "Oh, that," she said, trying to remember what the mysteries were in the books. That pretty much sums up the series. I also like the pet rodent, Rex, although I prefer having a dog. Read them in order, starting here, or you'll have trouble making sense of things since it follows a chronoligical time frame in #s 1-6.

Review: One For the Money is the beginning of a wonderful series by Janet Evanovich. The story takes place in Trenton, New Jersey. Stephanie Plum, an out of work lingerie buyer, goes to work for a bail bondsman, as a skip tracer. Her first bail jumper is a cop, accused of murder, and a man she has an interesting past with. Stephanie is a down to earth, down on her luck, kind of gal and you'll be rooting for her from the start. The rest of the cast of characters are just wonderful, quirky and fun, people you want to know better. The writing is crisp, irreverent and witty. You'll be laughing out loud...that's a promise. Trenton is gritty and drawn and developed so well, you'll start to know your way around town. This is the first of a terrific series. And, as you watch Stephanie work at getting her man, you'll be hooked, for sure. Read the whole series and enjoy them all!

Summary: One of the best mystery/humor series out there
Review: When my mom and sister sent me the first three books of thisseries and told me to read them, I thought "right, anothermust-read book recommendation." When I ran out of fiction and was looking through my bookcases for anything entertaining, I decided I might as well give Evanovich's book a try. Well, I laughed out loud - snickered out loud - so many times that my husband started looking at me funny. Sometimes I had tears running down my face from laughing. I was unable to figure out whodunnit. I blasted through this first book, barely able to put it down. I read the next two within the next week. Then I had to make bookstore runs to get the fourth book. It was a sad day when I finished the fourth book and had to wait for Evanovich to publish her fifth. Now I'm waiting for Hot Six to be published and even have a calendar reminder for its sale date. Have even been to (the website) to read the installments of chapter one of Hot Six. I EVEN ran a search to find the romance books she wrote before she launched her mystery writing tangent. Usually, when I blow through an author's series, after a few books I get annoyed with the character's habits, or of how the author establishes the character's history. Didn't happen with Evanovich's books. These are books worth buying in hard back and keeping for future reads. END

Summary: THE MOST FUN I'VE HAD WITH A MYSTERY IN A LONG TIME!
Review: Our book club read this book, and what a great selection! This book was a lot of fun. I found myself laughing out loud, then biting my nails then trying to figure out what exactly was going on. The characters are rich, fun and the mystery is a good one. It'll keep you turning the pages and wanting more. I'm hooked on the series, and have already grabbed the second book! Stephanie Plum is an original, and a realistic woman in today's world. Can't wait to see what she does next!
