Rating: Summary: A compelling, engrossing, and utterly brilliant novel... Review: A powerful and wonderfully written book, "The Horse Whisperer" tells the tragic story of a girl who has been physically and emotionally wounded during a violent horseback riding accident. In addition, her horse, Pilgrim, is also hurt very badly. Annie Maclean, the girl's desperate mother, contacts Tom Booker, a horseman who is able to communicate with the animals that he works with. Soon after, Annie and her daughter Grace head out to Tom's ranch, with their mad horse in tow. As the story unfolds, Tom and Annie fall in love. However, will the girl (Grace) and her beloved horse ever recover? Find out for yourself by reading this amazing novel. I recommend "The Horse Whisperer" to anyone looking for a sensational read.

Rating: Summary: The only way to end it! Review: HAVING just finished reading the novel, I have promptly picked it up once again to recapture the drama in this powerfully and BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN tear-jerker of an story! The vivid descriptions on life and in love kept me throughly entertained and left me incapable of putting it down for a moment! THE ENDING, although sad was in reality the only way it could really have been finished! Any other way would simply have ruined this epic tale! TOP marks to N.Evans! I'll be out buying 'THE LOOP' next week and will be keeping up to date with any future releases!
Rating: Summary: A fantastic story that won't let you go Review: No one had ever heard of a horse whisperer before Evans wrote this book. On top of that, he brings us a story about four needy people in search of happiness, not to mention the horse. A really great, old fashioned story, the kind that is hard to put down, and that has real living people in it. Don't be mislead by the hard hearted jerks who give this book one or two stars. They are over-inflated intellectuals with no hearts. Buy this book and enjoy!
Rating: Summary: A MUST READ! Review: The Horse Whisperer is a wonderful book! It seemed so real and really touched my heart. It wasn't the sappy boring drama that I usually find in books. I couldn't put the book down, and afterwards I read it all over again. This book has so much insight and truth to how people feel in dramatic situations. I encourage everyone to read this book!
Rating: Summary: An amazing novel you wont forget! Review: It's a peaceful, snow-covered morning. Grace and her horse Pilgrim, set off with Judith and her horse Gully, on what was supposed to be a relaxing ride. While going up an a hill, Gully slips on ice and while violently sliding down, knocks Pilgrim. As they fall, Judith is thrown out of the saddle, but her foot gets caught in the stirrup and she gets dragged. At the bottom of the hill, a large truck is coming past. Grace trys to reach Gully's reins and pull both the horse and Judith to safety, but Gully is startled by the truck driver and his horn. He pulls away from Grace's outstreached arms, and gets hit by the truck. Judith and Gully are killed. Even though Grace and Pilgrim survive, Grace has to lose half of one of her legs, and Pilgrim is so destraught by what happened, no one can go near him, for he is now a dangerous, untrusting horse. Grace's mom, Annie doesn't want Pilgrim put down, despite the advice of Harry Logan, the vet. She feels if Pilgrim dies, something in Grace will die too. Instead she finds out about 'whisperers', people who have a special, almost magical talent around horses. When Annie, Grace and Pilgrim journey to the countryside of Montana, to seek help from the horse whisperer, Tom Booker, none of them are prepared for the changes and miracles, that are going to take place in their lives. An thrilling read! Don't miss out on this beautiful story!

Rating: Summary: i injoid Review: i'm from israel. i realy injoid the book until i reached the last chapter. i was very disapointed with it.
Rating: Summary: The Horse Whisperer Review: I don't know how a book could draw me in, while turning me away. I found myself feeling conflicted by this book. On one hand, the story of the daughter, who has faced a life altering trauma, was very interesting and moving. On the other hand, the story surrounding the mother, nearly turned me from the book. The story was aiming for realism, but sometimes missed the target.
Rating: Summary: A shout or a whisper? Review: The story of Grace was very emoitional but not a soppy book at all. It was strong and pulsing and demands to be read. The story line was set very well so it overlaped at the right times. It was never boring and moved on from a scene when all was said. I think this book relates well to modern life and even managed to keep the idea of a "horse psyciatrists cowboy" back on earth, which must take must talent. you don't have to like horses, cowboys, love stories or anything this book is completely rounded. The people well so well described I could see every side of them and tell what choices they would make. The carictures were three dimensional and all had a set caricture and stuck to it. The movie truely was enjoyable but it disapointed me when my mental images were trashed by the actors. This couldn't be helped but it was still a shame. Nicholas Evans is a genius and I look forward to reading more of his touching work.
