Summary: A two-day read, Madison County with "horse sense" philosophy
Review: If you liked The Bridges of Madison County, you'll probably like The Horse Whisperer by Nicholas Evans. The Horse Whisperer has much more going for it. Yes, it has a love story, it is tragic, but it also is philosophical and it expands beyond human experiences to those of other living creatures. I hear it won't be long before we see this novel come to film. Although I'd like to see the film when it comes, I bet the book is better. In The Horse Whisperer, an English born editor of a swanky magazine attempts to right a wrong that her 13-year-old daughter has endured. Her actions profoundly affect her, her daughter, her husband and one other man: A man who, through a horse, changes all of their lives forever. Pick up the book and enjoy. I finished 450 pages in less than three days.

Summary: The Horse Whisperer will whisper to you in the night.
Review: A tragic riding accident almost ruins a girl spirits and also her horse's spirits. When the mother of the girl hears about the horse whisperer, she has him come to their ranch. He sees the horrible shape the horse is kept in and refuses to treat him. The mother travels many miles with her daughter and the horse to convince him to take them as clients. As the story progresses, the horse whisperer whisperes to more than the horse. Check this book out and see if it whispers to you like it did to me.

Summary: What?
Review: What? Is this the BEST book that I have ever read? YES!! Nicholas Evans is the writer of the century! His very first book, and I, a full-time reader, was just spellbound at the way that this peice of mere fiction had me so excited, that I was scared to read another book. Surely no other book that I could read would be anywhere near this good! And so far, none have. Praise God for Nicholas Evans! And Nick, if your reading, we are in a state of cat-like readiness, anxiously awaiting your next book!

Summary: Exciting! Captivating!...Great content but poor ending.
Review: How could Nicholas Evans do this to his reader? He had me glued to the book for two days. I couldn't put it down. I felt so close to the characters. It was almost as if I was a fly hovering over each activity and person anticipating how the drama would unfold and then wham! the ending was as unpredictable as it was quick. Tom, Anne, Grace, and Robert were all people with incredible strength of character. They met challenges head on and struggled to overcome them. The ending did not fit the rest of the book. The author gave them an easy way out. They did not have to struggle through the consequences of love, an affair, and possibly wrong personal choices. It was like the author ran out of space or maybe someone else wrote the ending. I was captivated but felt lost and empty after reading the novel. I would be thrilled to hear of a sequel or maybe the ending could be rewritten. What do you think Mr. Evans? Keep on writing but please, no more endings like this one. It's been two days since I finished reading it and I still haven't recovered from the tragic and very disappointing ending

Summary: Interesting look at womans life as mom & business star
Review: The cover of this book drew me again & again-I finnally saw in paperback and purchased it. I found the begining to be (thankfully) a bit detached butt the exploration of her attempts at living right/moral and fighting her growing attraction very real. The story of the horse itself was worth the book & time--the rest made it very worthwhile

Summary: Oh, Horse pucky!
Review: I can't believe I actually made it through the end of this book! I just don't understand how anyone can glean anything meaningful from this book. I have found, however, that it serves as an excellent paperweight. I sure won't be running off to see this movie, Redford or no. Hats off to the promoters of this book, though. To sell so many copies just emphasizes P.T. Barnum's wisdom...there IS one born every minute

Summary: One of the most intriguing romances of the year!
Review: Picking up this book was an eye-opener. I expected some sappy love story, but instead found a story full of emotion, suspense, and love

Summary: Rates Ten Tissues!
Review: As a horse owner, as a daughter and as someone just becoming familiar with non-traditional "healing," I found this a wonderful and enagaging read. I do wish the healer aspects of the story had been more fully developed and I did think the ending abrupt and perhaps too easy an out for the author. BUT, I still loved it!

Summary: Joann says, "HORSE MANURE".
Review: Thank GOD I did not purchase this book. It was forced on me by a well-meaning friend ! CHILDISH, PREDICTABLE and FOOLISH...Poor horse research. Better title would have been " The Horse Pooper ".PHEW..

Summary: Good story, bad language, poor ending
Review: I really liked the story. It kept me interested from the start. I found that some of the language used didn't need to be there. Cursing was used all to frequently, and for me seemed to cheapen the story. The ending was a huge let down, it left you hanging
