Summary: Provactive, psychological, and beautifully moving story
Review: This book was so captivating that I could not put it down. The story was beautiful and heart wrenching, at times, I thought I would cry. The ending was quite unexpected. A very good read!

Summary: Put it out of it's misery
Review: The terrible tragedy at the start of this book is horrifically realistic and terribly moving. The tragedy of the rest of the book is that it is dreadful. The kindest thing would have been to put the poor horse out of it's misery, then there would have been no book and no misery for the poor readers. I hated both the whisperer and the hideous woman who spent her time in the bushes exchanging hoarse whispers with him. Her family is shattered by a tragedy, so she thinks a fling is the best way to pull it together? I kept wanting to shout "Get a grip you stupid woman." at her.

Don't waste your time reading this, and definitely don't buy it.

Summary: good book
Review: this book is a good book if you like family books you should read it because it has many conflicts between the family and it is almost like a real life it has a semi-unhappy ending it not one of of those books with once upon a time to a happy ending type book I suggest this to all readers that can handle the maurity level of the book it does require some understanding of the topic to read it but if you just fly into it you will understand most of the material in the end thi s was a good book and for once it does have a unexpected ending that will shock the reader of this book this book is a page turner that you won't wanna set down because it amazes you with every turn of the next page

Summary: Crap
Review: This was the worst piece of crap I ever read. It is unbelievable how someone can turn such a promising plot into something so pathetic. It is also unbelievable that there are people dumb enough to find this worth reading. Don't waste your time

Summary: What an inspirational story!
Review: This is the best novel I have ever read. The way Nicholas Evans wrote this book is amazing. The paragraphs are so powerful that I went as far as dreaming visiting the ranch in Montana where it all happened. Very sad but inspirational ending. I finished reading the book yesterday, and still find myself in mourning for Tom whom I fell in love with from the star. I look forward to seeing the movie. Great work Nicholas!!

Summary: Bought it, read it, hated it.
Review: I have heard that Mr. Evans can write a great screen-play. If so, maybe he should go back to that line of work. This is a book that starts out like a ball of fire, and is quickly extinguished by mid-way. The end in particular left me cold. I have also heard a rumor...nothing more than that, mind...that this was actually written for the express purpose of making a movie from it. That Mr. Evans was asked to write this drivel so that Hollywood could make a movie from a bestseller. If this is true, then just wait for the movie...the book isn't work the money.

Summary: Before you buy, read all these reviews first!!!
Review: I can't believe I bought a hardback copy. I won't rehash what so many have stated so eloquently, but will add that I got absorbed until the half way point, and read on hoping for the unexpected to happen, but threw the book into the dumpster when the big affair became imminent. What a disappointing waste of time for readers. I too read on was expecting a deeper, soul searching, or introspective journey, but alas, it was not to be. If you must, borrow a copy - or check it out of my trash can - just don't expect me to be interested in how it turns out

Summary: IT DOESNT WHISPER, IT CROAKS!!
Review: This book travels very, very well until the plot (ostensibly) gets to Montana, then suddenly the reader is in bodice-ripping country ie Madision County. The horse whispering theme is hardly explored and is insufficiently developed to justify the idea that Tom heals both horses and their mistresses (young ones and older ones). Based solely on the opening chapters, Evans must have something better to contribute than this embarrassment

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A summer read - no more, no less
Review: The Horse Whisperer is a quick read romance in the vein of The Bridges of Madison County. The author spins a more detailed yarn then Bridges, and the character development is richer. In short, this book is a good summer read when content is not as important as entertainment. I expect the movie will be the same

Summary: Horse whisperer or just adulterers?
Review: Supposedly the story could be developed more profound, but the author turned a horse into a shitty miserable creature, and later disregarded it to poke around with shameful lust of the horse around hero and the horsy around heroine. What a shame! This is a talented writer but focused too much on shameless flesh and lust. Where is the horse whisperer? Well, he's just trying to whiper your pants off. A very ilogical development
