Summary: AMAZING WRITTING!!!
Review: I found this book to be an amazing and captivating novel. I was swept from New York to Montana and felt every moment of the accident with Grace. Nicholas Evans has an amaving ability to place the reader at a location without going on to the point of boredom. Normally I am not a reader but I found putting this book down very hard. I have never truly been able to say that I enjoyed reading a book before this. It was far better then the movie and I recommend it to anyone who truly loves good writting!!!

Summary: predictable, complicated story
Review: It is evident that this is the author's first novel. I hope that just because it has become a movie, that Evans does not become satisfied with his work. The characters are mostly likeable, but suffer through this long, often complicated plot. The range of emotions that the reader is expected to feel is too great to allow them to enjoy this novel. It is very much like a sitcom drama. The great tragedy followed by the great aftermath, and finally the great conclusion. With this story, the great conclusion is a great relief. Hardly destined to become a classic, I would shelve this with the Danielle Steel and Jackie Collins summer beach reading material. There's no need to loose any sleep to try and finish this novel.

Summary: Ho-Hum
Review: Although I suppose it was worth sticking out this read to its fairly interesting ending, I felt cheated through the rest of the book. Highly predictable, way too mooshy, and quite obviously a freshman effort, The Horse Whisperer proves that the masses are easily amused. I normally try to give every book that is on the bestseller list the benefit of the doubt, but after this one I have no choice but to balk. While Evans does have a gift for storytelling, it seemed waAAYY too much like he was writing what he thought the public would like and not for the benefit of the intelligent. Short, repetitive sentences. X-rated love sequences where simple finesse would have succeeded. An bright young girl whose character completely dims toward the end. Ugh. And it started out as an interesting story.

Don't waste your time. See the movie. Redford has a serious knack at this type of story. He probably did the book some considerable justice.

Summary: very interesting, but pathetic ending
Review: I read this book in a few hours as it was pretty interesting & held my attention, but I found out that after creating a pretty good storyline, the writer gave up near the end & just threw in a few closing paragraphs. The book was great until the last 5 or 6 pages. I'd definitely recommend it but it could've been better

Summary: Best novel I've in a long time
Review: The book takes you away to a beautiful place and to some wonderful people. You get into it and forget where you are while your reading it. When you get to the end your so sad as you want it to go on and on and just never end. Also learned a lot about horses and how they are treated in sometimes a cruel manner and yet in another way so gently. I would like to read a sequel to this book. also saw the movie and loved it.

Summary: unexpectable ending
Review: This book is very enxpectable. It has a good plot line with some twists. It sounds like an almost normal life situation that could happen. I addvise every single person in the world to read this book for it is very thrilling with an exepected ending.

Summary: An amazing story of the love between a girl and horse.
Review: this story starts with a accident and follows the family in there struggle to come to terms with that accident. The detail of the emotions is breath taking. I found myself sitting willing the family to make it.

Summary: A Good Book Until the End
Review: I thought this book was really good. Evans makes the begining graphic, but I think that helps with understanding all that has to be recovered mentally and physically by all involved. The development between Tom, the horse, and the daughter as well as between the daughter and mom was well worth reading. I did not like the end of the novel. Tom was not in character at all and I could have done with out the relationship between Tom and the mom.

Summary: Entertaining, interesting, some "fluff", unexpected ending.
Review: An enjoyable book with interesting charactors, ie. Tom Booker & Grace. Though the story line strays into unrelated fluff of Annie Graves past at times over all it was entertaining and had a great unexpected ending. However, the main charactor, Annie, just settles for the life she has had in the end, which I found a little disappointing.

Summary: I highly recommend this touching and remarkable novel to all
Review: I throughly enjoyed this book! I was able to picture the scenes as if I was there. Evans' first novel is outstanding and I can't wait to read his next one. The characters were real and well written. I loved the scenes with the horses and enjoyed the healing of Grace's and Annie's relationship. The ending will blow you away!!!
