Summary: Practical advice
Review: I read this book in three days, a very quick read. I was able to understand a lot of the information. It gave me insights that I hadn`t had before. Because of all these things I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to gain a better understanding, but just like anything, evaluate your circumstances.

Summary: Helpful, solid, easy-reading relationship guidebook
Review: No one has ever talked about 5 Stages of Dating around me. And I have no idea what stage am I in until I read this book. I get sense of acuity now. I can tell what stage are they in with people around me. After reading the part that John explain how different Men and Women think and react, I realliaze that I just spend 5 years of my relationship to find that out. I wish that people are in relationship or looking for one can have a look at this book. This will save them a lot of mis-unserstanding and pain of quarrels. I sincerely recommand this book to you. Sabina

Summary: Not Gray's best (not even that good)
Review: It is obvious that Gray spends more time counseling married couples than singles. His understanding of the differences between the genders seems sound enough, but it is obvious he has not been a part of the dating scene for some time. All of his books require some generalizations to meet the needs of so large an audience, but much of his advice in this particular book is so oversimplified as to not be practical. I have enjoyed (and would recommend) some of his other books, but this one doesn't measure up.

Summary: Excellent insight into how men and women's needs differ.
Review: Mars and Venus on a Date provides insight into both a past marriage that failed and a wonderful relationship currently developing. After 24 years of single life I've gained understanding as to why I've remained single in the past as well as why my new relationship is as fabulous as it is.

John Gray's information has reinforced some personal decisions I've made as well as made me think twice about some incorrect assumptions I had. I've learned the difference between thinking loving someone means they are right for you and how to really discern Soul Mate possibilities.

My Soul Mate has made me a very happy woman. Dr. Gray has provided me with a foundation of information and understanding that may insure I stay that way!!! Thanks.

Summary: Good once you've got someone
Review: This book is great to figure out where you are in the five stages, but I kind of wanted to find out ways to start a relationship. I would assume it to be a great help once you have someone though. If you want a book on finding someone I'd suggest How to Make Anyone Fall in Love With You.

Summary: He's a much better lecturer than a writer.
Review: Get the Powertalk interview with Tony Robbins if you really want to get the best out of the guy... he knows his stuff, but when he tries to distill it into hints and actions in this book, it seems as though he's telling us to not be ourselves, to seek the things we don't crave, and to act unnaturally. I gave the book to my friend who finds some of it dead-on in practise, and much of it confounding.

Summary: promotes stereotypical behavior
Review: This is a rehash of his first book, with "tips" on how to attract a date. However, his system seems to be based on antiquated, stereotypical, gender-biased behaviors that i believe are destructive and deceptive. For example, he recommends being cheery and upbeat at the beginning of a relationship then-whammo!-letting your true self out after the attraction is established. Not good advice, if you ask me! Stay away from this book!

Summary: A must if you are single!!!
Review: I have read many of the Mars/Venus books, and I have to say this is the best one. I am single, and I have always been disappointed in my relationships. This book pointed out what I was doing. It does not tell you to change, but shows you the real you. I was always so afraid of getting hurt so I would act like a "guy" sometimes. Being the woman that he describes is so refreshing and relaxing. I have recommended this book to many of my friends, and it has helped their relationships too. A must if you are single!!

Summary: I thought it was an excellent book about dating.
Review: I think the book is very well done. This is the first book from John Gray that I have read and I think it is an excellent book. There are a lot things that I never realized about dating that I know now and I have a better outlook on dating and relationships than I did before. Thank You for opening up my eyes.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: a book of a very good standard
Review: Mars and Venus on a date can help those who are already involved in relationships or have the ability to break the boundries and get involved. But it didn't give any idea about how to break the shyness and get encourged to be in a relationship.
