Summary: The Green Mile
Review: This book was very interesting and indulging to read. The book had some very emotional scenes. The book was really funny when Percy chases the mouse around the green mile. But at times it is also sad to think all of those guys are on death row, it makes prison life seem so delicate and meaningless.

Summary: The Green Mile
Review: The book "The Green Mile" was the best book I have ever read. In deed I have never gotten so into a book. I'm not one to read a lot but this book was hard to put down. The book is about a guy named John Coffee(who was put in prison for the murder of two girls). The book basicly shows his life when he walked into the prison all the way up to his death by the Electric Chair.I'm not going to go into much detail about the book, you will just have to read it yourself. I liked the book so much I might just read it again!

Review: "The Green Mile" by Stephen King is absolutely terrific. An awesome read. He evoked a strong emotion in me for executing John Coffey, but after all, that is only the mark of a truly great writer. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. The movie's almost as good!

Review: 'The Green Mile' is perhaps one of the finest novels yet by one of the world's greatest storytellers; by turns warmly human and shatteringly horrific, and totally unputdownable from first page to last. In 1996, Stephen King decided to reach into the past both with the presentation of the material and with the content of The Green Mile itself. Like Charles Dickens before him, he serialized the work, publishing one episode a month, without having finished it beforehand. This 'entertainment in installments' method created a sensation and, between March and August 1996, it seemed as if everyone was 'walking The Green Mile'. Bear in mind, however, that this concept would probably have failed if the tale itself was substandard. King went to great lengths to ensure that it was not. The Green Mile (here complete in one volume) taps into what Stephen King does best: character-driven storytelling. The story begins slowly, but it's deliberate, not sluggish, as King sets the grim scene in a depressing version of Shawshank Prison. As with all King novels, his characters are well drawn and their lives are neatly sketched. Then: "Lights. Camera. Action." From what was part 3 of the serialization ("Coffey's Hands") King charges through with an unstoppable story brimming with insight and surprise. It is not until the very end of the original part 6 ("Coffey on The Mile") that the story once again slows to allow readers to breathe a little. The ending of The Green Mile is perhaps King's saddest (with the possible exception of Insomnia) though it is still one of King's best recent novels, rich in detail and character. Nothing is ever what it should be, and there are little surprises (and some pretty big ones!) at every turn. A highly recommended read, even if you do lose the fun of the serialization as it happened.

Review: The Green Mile, by Stephen King is an interesting, entertaining, and memorable work of fiction. The reader is brought into the depressing life of Paul Edgecombe, a prison guard of Block E at Cold Mountain Penitentiary. Convicted killers await the last walk, the Green Mile, to "Old Sparky" and the end of their life on earth. Though, Paul has seen his share of phsyco killers in his years, he has never seen a man like John Coffey. John is convicted of the rape and murder of two young girls, but is also afraid of his own shadow. Paul will soon discover the shocking truth about John Coffey that will change his life forever.
Stephen King is a great author, and uses much symbolism that reflects life in the world today. King also shows his disgust for cruelty in the world. After reading the book, my opinion of convicted criminals has changed. Not all convicted murderers are bad people. My opinion of prison guards on death row have changed also. I once believed that these prison guards had little feelings for others. I believed it took a sick person to execute another human being. I now understand that they are not only doing their job, but a little piece of them goes with every execution. Ultimately, my opinion of capital punishment has changed. No one on this earth has the right to take the life of another human because you never know when you are killing the innocent.
The Green Mile was interesting, entertaining, and memorable. It is possibly the best book I have ever read. The storyline stimulates much thought on current issues in the world. The book changed my opinion on several issues today. "... electricity shall now be passed through your body until you are dead, according to state law. May God have mercy on your soul".

Review: Stephen King’s The Green Mile, was based, back in 1932, when persecution with African Americans was still going on. The Green Mile was an electrifying masterpiece. The beginning of the book is a description of the setting and the most of the characters. This story is being told for ones memory, Paul Edgecombe of those hot, horrible days. He tells it with a passion, a deep passion. The first section of the book starts out with this huge black man, John Coffey, sobbing in a field with two little girls in his hands. (...)
Overall, I enjoyed this book. Even thought it is very long, it is worth your time. If you like suspense thrillers, this is the book for you. But, do not read this book by yourself or before you go to bed!
