Rating: Summary: Great adventure for anyone Review: This book had just enough twists to keep you turning and rooting for Bud. As Bud tries to find his family while struggling through the drepression on an adventure across Michigan it is hard not to keep turning the pages.
Rating: Summary: Inspiring, funny, heartwarming Review: The story is also a bit of a mystery as Bud (not Buddy) searches for his father during the depression. We listened to the audio version of this and all of us (ages 9-46) loved it. The narrator, James Avery, does a wonderful job of interpreting all the people in Bud's life.
Rating: Summary: Definetly a Newberry Winner Review: Christopher Paul Curtis writes a great book in Bud Not Buddy. The book is about the orphan Bud Caldwell who lives in a orphanage the "Home." After he gets in trouble at one of the temporary homes he goes on the lam. This is his story of how he finds his missing father and finding a permanent home. This story is touching and funny at the same time. This is a definetly a must read for young adults.
Rating: Summary: Fabulous! Review: As a reading teacher, I read lots and lots of children's books each year. This one is on my "Top Five" list! It's laugh-out-loud funny, poignant, and, best of all, the kids LOVE it! (Even my most reluctant readers!) I plan on ordering a class set of these for use in the coming school year---it's that good.
Rating: Summary: Bud not Buddy Rating Review: iliked this book because Bud went out of his way to just find his dad. I can understand that ,because any kid would want to know about thier family. Also because he went through some tough times but he didn't give up.

Rating: Summary: Bud, and only Bud. Review: This book makes you laugh out loud when you're reading it. With all those funny words and Bud's book, "Bud Caldwell's Rules and Things for Having a Funner Life and Making a Better Liar Out of Yourself," Mr. Curtis makes this book SO hilarious! But it is sad since he has to go through all the pain and bad experiences with the adoption families. His goal is to find the man he thinks is his father, but does he find him? Read this well written book to find out.
Rating: Summary: The best Review: I am a 39 year old father of three kids. Bud, Not Buddy is one of the best books I have ever read. My kids love for me to read it at bedtime. I look forward to it almost as much as they do. It is a fantastic adventure and a lovingly written story.
Rating: Summary: Woop zoop sloop, and you'll love it. Review: In the spirit of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn, Bud, Not Buddy is a great adventure story of a boy looking for family. Bud is intelligent, resourceful and interesting. A character brought to life by Curtis and his wonderful sense of detail. My reluctant readers have all enjoyed this book. Set in Flint, MI during the depression, this book has a great historical basis. This gives kids an idea of what life might have been like for youngsters in the late 30's. Curtis communicates a sense of hope and determination that moves the book along until the moving ending. Good for read aloud in the middle school.
Rating: Summary: A great book for 11-14 year old kids Review: I read the book Bud Not Buddy. I thought it was a great book for all ages 11-14. It paints an amazing picture of a boy during the depression. It is a great story filled with confidence. I am also planning on reading Christopher Paul Curtis's (the author of Bud Not Buddy) book The Waltson's go to Birmingham.
