This book is wonderful!
Rating: Summary: Incredible! Review: Princess Addie has lived in fear her intire life. Fear of spiders, fear of monsters, fear of just about everything. Her sister Meryl dreams of battles and quests and swords and has ever been Addie's protector and savior. However, when Meryl is struck with the dreaded sickness, the Grey Death, it is Addie who must go questing for a cure, to save her sister. Forced to face all her worst fears, Addie must discover her own inner strength and cleverness, but will her efforts be rewarded? This book was not only well written, but the characters as well spoke to me so clearly I felt as if they were real. I would definitely recomend this book to any fan of fantasy, child or adult.

Rating: Summary: Charming but the ending was lackluster Review: Addie and Meryl were interesting characters, though I have to say I liked Addie much better from the beginning, and Rhys was an interesting character. Levine's sense of humour comes out in this nicely, as in the case of Addie trying to operate Seven League Boots. The Gray Death was an interesting disease, and I thought the progression of it to be original. I also enjoyed the dragon's character.I had two real problems with the novel. First, Rhys' magic seemed too convenient some of the time, and when it was absent, the absence, too, seemed rather contrived. Second, the ending was the quintessential deus ex machina ending. It honestly didn't surprise me, but it certainly didn't delight me. _Ella Enchanted_ was a far better novel, and a better place to start reading Levine. After that, move on to this book. On a side note, once you've spent time with Levine's Ella, you might want to try _Just Ella_ by Margaret Peterson Haddix.
