Summary: Parent/Child LOVE book
Review: My daughter (2yrs old) and son (4 yrs old) LOVE to choose this as their bedtime book. It is perfect for the "terrible two" child to relate to their reluctant ways of behavior and show them how the loving parent would answer them to show how very important they are. My four year old tells me different ways he would deal with the situation if it was me who wanted to change.

Review: My son has a reading tutor, and this was a book I picked up in his school library and it lists the reading levels. The AR reading level was 2.6. He is in second grade. He said down and read this book the first time, and never missed a word, and was enthralled with the black and white pages with writing, compared to the colored pages with no words. Talk about incentive to get to the next page full of color and see in color what the black and white words told you about. This is the perfect gift for a first or second grader who needs a reading incentive.

Review: If you have a child, you must have this book. It is a true classic. A story that shows children just how much they are loved. Beautiful illustrations.....you must have at least one copy!

Summary: Excellent book for letting children know they are loved.
Review: This book is a must read -- daily -- for parents who adopt an older child with a history of being "let go" by other families. The young bunny learns that no matter where he runs, his mother will always find him. This is exactly the message that children who "join" a family later in life need to learn, especially if they have previously lived with families who let them go when they ran away. This book gives a family the opportunity to reinforce their commitment to their child day after day.

Summary: A MUST READ FOR ALL PARENTS AND CHILDREN
Review: It's not often that written words and illustrations harmonize as beautifully as they do in the Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown with illustrations by Clement Hurd. I'm not surprised to learn that this book as never been out of print since it was originally published over forty years ago. No book more simply or effectively conveys the depth of true parental love. Although written for children, parents will benefit from it's gentle spirit. My mother read this book to me, and I frequently read it to my own little girl. It's one of her (and my) favorites!

Summary: Provides a wonderful analogy to how God pursues us.
Review: What a wonderful story for a tiny child -- but also for adults! It provides an analogy where you can put yourself in the place of the bunny, and God as his mother. God continues to pursue us even tho we run away from Him, but, when we do return to Him, He gives us everything we need! Just like the mommy bunny did in the story! I don't know if the author intended this, but it is truly a great way to read it! We used it at a Women's Bible Study last week!

Review: runnaway bunny is about a mothers love for her child. I cry every time i read it. i recommend it to anyone that has children to read it for themselves and then for their children. they won't be dissapointed.

Review: This is a must have bedtime story for your young child. My son is 5 now, and I have been reading it to him for several years and he still enjoys it.

Review: When Margaret Wise Brown was teaching at the Bank Street School in New York City, she learned that the best children's books developed from children's curiosity and spoke about the world in a style familiar to children. The repetitive, predictable text in The Runaway Bunny builds a child's expectations and encourages following-along and saying the lines with mother bunny and her adventurous baby boy. The detailed drawings by Clement Hurd alternate between black-and-white and color; the black-and-white ink sketches seem to present the little bunny's desires to run away, while the colored images portray the mommy bunny's responses: to catch and comfort her boy, mommy bunny becomes a sheltering tree and a kind gardener. In addition, with no text to tell a story for them, the colored pictures let the children tell their own stories about the problems mommy bunny is having finding and holding onto the little bunny. Little bunny is hidden somewhere in each of the colored drawings, so it is an adventure for the readers to seek him out -- it's as if he is running away from us, too! Far from being too advanced for the smallest children, this board book version of The Runaway Bunny can become a child's friend. My own children nibbled at its corners in the car and slept with it at night.

Summary: A great introduction to poetry and love in books
Review: This book is wonderful! I've read it to all three of my children and never tired of it. I finally realized why when I read Margaret Wise Brown's biography and discovered that she got her inspiration for The Runaway Bunny from Provencal love songs of the middle ages. When you read it to children you can practically see them savor the sounds of the words and phrases. Couple that with a great example of unconditional, undying love, and you can't lose!
