Rating: Summary: not as good as the rest Review: Not as exciting as the rest of the Plum mysteries and pretty easy to figure out long before the end. I hope the next one has more Grandma and less of the rest of the bunch. Still worth reading, just not as entertaining as the previous Plums.
Rating: Summary: Way to go...This is another winner! Review: When it comes to Stephanie, I'm always gonna love it! There's just no getting around it. Stephanie Plum is always a great read and "To the Nines" delivers the goods and will keep you laughing. Be prepared for more bodies than usual and a tightly plotted story that actually takes Steph and her friends and co-workers, Lulu and Vinnie's office manager Connie, off on an adventurous trip to Las Vegas. (Ranger can't make the trip 'cause he's in trouble with the whole state of Nevada.) It's just possible that Stephanie's merry band of lunatics may cause a riot or two when they meet up with the Elvis impersonators. And Lulu's big purse could get them arrested for B & E before they can get out of town. Back home, the Plum household is filled to bursting and about to get an additional member. Stephanie's mother is praying for a miracle and her father is having to wait in line for the bathroom, what with all the traffic. Valerie is eating for two and is very conflicted about what to do with her life. Joe Morelli's Grandmother is having visions that involve poor Stephanie and a coffin. And Stephanie is having another hair crises, not to mention "fun with fast food". In other words, it's business as usual for a Stephanie Plum novel! You'll giggle and groan and laugh until your eyes tear up. And when it's finished, the wait will begin for number 10! Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Go Stephanie!! Review: Stephanie strikes again. I loved it, and would recommend all the Stephanie Plum novels. You go girl!!
Rating: Summary: Laugh-out-loud funny! Review: The Stephanie Plum novels are not so much about the mystery as they are about the crazy characters who cavort across the pages of these delightful books. Janet Evanovich is back with all of our favorites and they get themselves into some very interesting situations. Stephanie's boss, her cousin Vinnie, is in trouble because of the disappearance of Samuel Singh, an illegal immigrant for whom Vinnie has posted bail. Vinnie assigns Stephanie the job of finding and apprehending Singh, which becomes even more fun when the trail leads to Las Vegas where Stephanie is accompanied by her pals Lula and Connie. Dead bodies begin to accumulate and it is assumed that the killer is the same person since each murder is accompanied by flowers. Stephanie receives threats and it appears that she is the next one on the killer's list. My favorite character is Lula and she is at her best as she goes on a high-protein diet in her quest to be a supermodel. Never mind that her idea of a diet is 7 cheeseburgers (without the bun) or a half-dozen pork chops at one sitting. The girls stir up some big trouble in Las Vegas, and this book lives up to its predecessors on the laughter scale. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Plum Delightful Review: I love plum near everything about Stephanie. (Except the Christmas story this past year!) She's up to her usual inept "eptness" and I had a number of laugh out loud moments. This book's mayhem is a change from the "taking grandma to yet another funeral" mayhem and that's refreshing, yet it's similar enough that fans won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: THE PLOT THICKENS Review: Just when you think that you can't take yet another of a Plum novel, Evanovich comes back with a surprise! Stephanie's latest skip-trace takes her bigtime as she combs Las Vegas for her bounty, but things go (deliciously) awry and three mob guys want to make sure she never gets home. As should usually be the case with these things, don't read too many reviews, kills the thrill of discovering the plot on your own. This is everything you know Evanovich for, it is a fast, fun read as usual and you'll be carrying your book around until you are done. If you like your stories hilarious, with memorable characters, and that little twist of romance, then To The Nines is for you. Highly recommended!
Rating: Summary: Janet does not disappoint! Review: I've been hooked on the Stephanie Plum series from the first page of the first book, "One for the Money". "To the Nines" delivers the same humor and mishaps that usually follow Stephanie around; however, this book delivers a new formula of humor. Instead of blowing up and destroying vehicles, Stephanie destroys the bodyguards assigned to her by Ranger - her mentor and fellow bounty hunter. Instead of the usual funeral home disasters at the hands of Grandma Mazur, we have visions from Morelli's Grandma Bella. This book provides laugh-out-loud humor, fast-paced action, and a good mystery that will keep you reading well into the night. The usual characters are still present - Valerie, Grandma Mazur, Morelli, and Lula. I can hardly wait until book 10!
Rating: Summary: Bravo, Janet! Review: I have read all books in the Stephanie Plum series, and this latest book does not disappoint. In fact, it's hilarious! Lula is at her best. I highly recommend this one!
Rating: Summary: What a hoot! Review: Oh boy! Another wild ride with Stephanie and the gang! Reading this was like being with old friends. I can hardly wait for number #10!
Rating: Summary: A perfect 10 for To the Nines!!!!!!!! A must read!!! Review: This is ellen in Atlanta, and can think of no better read than the world of Plum! This book is a perfect blend of sex, humor, adventure, mystery, etc. Moreso than the other 8 books. The side trip to Vegas was an added treat - This book also blends the perfect combination of sexy hunk Joe Morelli and the steamy Ranger - tag teaming to take care of Stephanie - Although the murderer is suspected early on, what a ride to the last page - Only wish Grandma Mazur was featured more - her visits to Stiva's Funeral Home are legendary and any page with her and you have to dry your eyes from the tears of laughter - Ms. Evanovich continues to impress with her wit and perfecting Stephanie's life and adventures - Love the Yellow Escape! My brother drives one and it is a fun car and perfect for her adventures, but I have a vision of an explosion coming on - Stephanie isn't too good with cars, although with this book, Ranger's (oooh Ranger) merry men get the brunt of the damage - If there are some and I cannot see many - who haven't read all of the Stephanie Plum books, go back and enjoy them from One for the Money on to this wonderful book - This is the best! I read this book in one day and swore to myself to stretch it out but from the first page I was laughing so hard I couldn't put it down - will never think of Winnie the Pooh again without thinking of vasoline...
