Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Not the same as his old stuff... Review: I just couldn't speed through this. I start his books at a moderate pace and speed up as time goes on - this just got slower and slower. I love his stuff but this one is missing.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Not Grisham's Best, but I Could Not Put it Down! Review: Although the bretheren are three flawed protagonists they are like naughty children; you can not turn your back on them. They demand that you keep turning pages to find out their next move.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: NO "Thrill" in Thriller Review: The Brethern was not Grisham's best work, the book has a great idea however he forgot the details and the suspense. The book moves along at a very quick pace since it lacks details. He should have taken more time with this one.

Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Good, but not a must read! Review: John Girsham has put out a lot of excellent books, but lately they have not been gripping. The Brethren was a good book, but there were to many unanswered questions about the characters. We could have know a little more about Aaron Lake and some others. Also, I felt that John left the book opened for a sequel, I just didn't feel like it had a definite close to the book.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Save your money... Review: I am a big Grisham fan but this one was not worth the read. I read the book on a plane and hurried to finish it before the flight ended. I wonder if he did the same when he wrote it...
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: I'm not going to waste my money! Review: On-line reviews by other readers are one of the important factors in my decision on whether or not to buy a new book. Here we go: we've had 205 reviews so far on John Grisham's new release The Brethren and the majority thinks it is once again so-so... Combining these comments with my poor impression of his last book The Testament, I really think that Mr. Grisham is running out of good stories to put into his book. It seems that he is increasingly going downward, in terms of plotting, character developing and even writing skills. Don't take me wrong here. I've been Grisham's fan for a long time and have read all his previous books, short or long. His latest books are in dire contrast to his earlier ones, as if his pen is running out of ink. I cannot help but always compare books written by Grisham to books written by Michael Crichton, another favorite author of mine. They are showing more and more quality differnence, with Grisham lagging way behind. Therefore, I'm NOT going to waste my money and time on the Brethren, as simple as that.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: A disappointment! Review: I have read every book ever written by John Grisham. In "The Brethren", I found the characters weak and the story line slow. I can't tell you how many times I put the book down out of boredom. The ending was a disappointment. I found myself saying, " Is that it?" I admit, when I finished "The Partner", I was angry, I didn't like the ending - but at least it stirred some kind of emotion in me. This book left me cold.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: why bother? Review: While I am a big fan of his, this is probably Grisham's most unsatisfying book since The Client. None of the characters involved were worth caring about, and apparently Grisham has picked up on Michael Crichton's habit of bad endings.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Boring, boring,.... Review: The Brethren is quite simply John Grisham's worst
