Summary: Grisham True to Form
Review: Grisham scores with an excellent book which intertwines two plots which seem to be non-related. Grisham's plot development puts him in the forefront of fiction writers today.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good book, but get one thing straight.....
Review: Great book John; no matter what anyone says, you've produced another law-thriller. I just wanted to comment on one thing though. Being from Calgary (which you mentioned in your book) I just wanted to get one thing straight >There are no dogsled races in Calgary! But, it could be funny watching one run through downtown, or down the highway..just do a little more research on that one John, otherwise, great book!

Summary: Where's the meat?
Review: Disappointing! I'm an avid fan and grabbed the book the first day it was on the shelf. Two weeks later I was FINALLY finished.

I've thoroughly enjoyed all of the other books that John Grisham has authored. This one seemed like a hurried attempt to put something out. The prison/political sub-plot was confusing and the outcome became pretty obvious.

I sincerely hope that the next book returns to the same style of old.

Summary: Interesting Book
Review: I totally disagree with the many reviewers who have posted before me. Once again Grisham hits the mark with this interesting tale. Who cares if the book doesn't have a "good guy" character in it? I was totally drawn in by lure of easy money being made by the Brethren and the entertaining, bumbling lawyer Trevor. No author is better at writing about lure of big-time money. If you dream about being filthy rich you will enjoy this book.

Summary: What happend to the ending?
Review: Grisham is my favorite writer. I lean towards The Partner as one of his best. The Brethren had the makings of a good book. It got interesting when the two sub plots ran into one another. However, the ending was weak. However, I will still buy the next one. Keep them coming JOHN.

Summary: Grossly disappointed!
Review: I agree with every negative comment your customers made. I have read every one of Grisham's books, and I can't believe John wrote this one. It took me a whole month to read this book. I had to make myself finish it. I went to sleep every time I tried to read it. I hope he reads all our comments and does a better job on his next book.

Summary: First time "Grisham" reader!
Review: I just finished The Brethren, and I really enjoyed it! I have never read one of John Grisham's books before, and I have heard that this was definitely not one of his best. However, as much as I enjoyed this one, I look very forward to reading more of his books.

Summary: The Brethren
Review: Actually I enjoyed this book. Very interesting topic and characters. Ending was a litle weak, but still a better book than his last, The Testament.

Summary: Well...
Review: I have read almost all of John Grisham's books and it seems to me that they keep getting worse. I loved The Firm, A Time to Kill, and the Partner. After the Street Lawyer his book are just boring, the Testiment was a little better. The Brethren was about the worst of his books that I have read. It took me so long to get through. I was not reading the book to find out what happens but to just finish it so I could start a different one.

Summary: fast read
Review: Oh it's a fast read, because there is not much to this "Grisham-pump-it-out-fast-for-the-bucks" book. Weak character development, weak plot lines & a hurried ending make for a poor read. The timing of the political primaries was an editorial coup. Too bad they did not take as much time as our Government does, to plot this out. Shame shame John, why don't you write about baseball? I am sure you could kill off at least 1 attorney in that scenario too.
